  • broken glasses? shotgun. lol!

  • Hey Mike!

My new years promise to myself was that I was going to dedicated these next few months (hope it's not too late! :D) to preparing myself and those around me for ANY bad situation that I feel may be brought up. Through planning I couldn't seem to come up with any idea that would compensate for the lack of vision in my family members! (I got the good eyes!) Anyway, other than spending hundreds, I didn't know what to do! Thanks for the tip, keep it up! I subscribed! Look forward to more!

  • Awesome im going to try this im a police officer and last time my glasses broke i could not work for a week until i got a new pair. Deffinetly gonna check it out

  • My grandad has a pair of plastic lensed glasses

  • Thank you for this!

  • I just ordered 2 pair of glasses, and 1 pr. clip on sun shades with shipping for $26.81. Walmart's cheapest frames start at $38.00

  • Great tip, I'm checking them out now!

  • You can upload a picture of your face and and it will ask you to click on your pupils in the picture. Then it will display your picture and the glass frames will be to scale. So not only can you see if the frame fits, but you can see how they look on your face.

I just got a pair from Zenni delivered on Saturday. They are great.

  • Good info and video. I have several pair, even a pair of birth control glasses in my GHB.

  • nice job i liked this video great work

  • You might also want to check out a site called Glassy Eyes, it's a blog that covers mail order glasses and has a number of vendors including Zenni.

  • polycarbonate, anti glare, and clipons are all a must. Although with my prescription I have to go with high index poly, which drives the price at normal places way up. I also prefer the clipons that go over the outside edges of the glasses, so there is nothing sticking down in your range of vision. Thanks for the info.

  • Good tip - my prescription hasn't changed in a while so I have some extra pairs, although it's good to know of a reputable place to order online. It seems like they charge a bit more if you need to get high index lenses for a heavy prescription, but it's still more affordable than the stores in my area.

  • Hmm, thank you. I have a very high prescription which usually costs me a fortune. I'm going to order a couple pair as soon as I can. At least I would have some spares when I scratch up my others.

  • Excellent tip Sir!

  • Great info, hubby needs glasses and a great deal, thanks!

  • I always keep my previous glasses with the old prescription in case the current ones break

  • thanks for the info

  • Thanks for the web site! These are pretty cool!

  • This was so needed a big thank you and a kiss :D

  • Thanks I really needed this.

  • Thanks friend. You are a great guy.

  • Have a friend who has used this company. They recommend them as well. She bought like 5 pair of glasses. Put one in the car, home desk, office desk, and etc. still had a couple for spares.

  • Wow for the second time in less than a year, you feature a video that is truly useful to me. I really need to get squared away on vision back ups for my wife. She is blind without glasses and $150 a pop is just too much to spend on my budget. Thanks for an informative useful video

  • Thank you so much!

  • Good video. $10 sure beats WROL home attempted Lasic surgery.

  • ok superman's weakness was kyptonite...your weakness is loosing glasses ..the world is not safe !

  • thiers a old saying in the old movies " you would hit a guy with glasses? "

    that never worked

  • AWESOME VIDEO THANK YOU! MUCH NEEDED

  • Wow! Thanks for the tip on affordable glasses. A back up pair is a good idea, but don't forget to consider that your prescription might change over time.

At those prices, a person could purchase 10 or more pair of varying degrees of correction (under the guidance of their eye doctor) and anticipate future changes while still saving money ($70 vs. $150).

Might even be able to barter a few pairs to those who find themselves in need.

  • my wife got 2 pair from them she had the amber tint on hers i think the toal cost for both pair we like 64 bucks but our pup got one pair of then last month then a week later the pup chewed them ones up but she goes to the eye dr tomarrow and shes useing her old glasses now but im suer shes going to order from them this week and im ordering mine next month i like the 2nd pair deal they give

  • just checked out zenni.com perfect timing, was just getting ready to buy another pair for my bob

  • great info. thanks for this link I will be ordering me some new specs. this is the kind of info all us spec wearers can use. thanks

  • I also recommend that if you order from Zenni, order more than one pair, no matter how many you order your S&H is only 4.95. So the more you order the more you save.

    R74P's wife

  • You should have gotten your PD. If you got that your glasses wouldn't be too small like that. I have ordered from Zenni and my glasses fit perfect.

    R74P's wife

  • @rising74phoenix Yeah, I did provide my PD, but I selected a frame size that was not big enough for my face...

  • @Survive2Day Next time go with the larger frames. If they are too big, you can adjust them to fit better. I went with the in between, so I knew they would fit.

    R74P's wife

  • Actually, those frames look good on you!

  • Wow thanks this is just what I need.

  • Thanks for sharing that inforamtion in your video. They ship to Europe too, me and my parents will definitely buy glases from them :)

I thought of one more item that you will have hard time finding in a SHTF situation and that are good shoes that fit you. You will easily find clothes everywhere, but a pair of shoes that fit you perfectly in the way in which you could walk miles in them will be hard to find.

  • Thanks! Good idea, had never thought about glasses in a situation X scenario! Gonna check it out! Keep up the good work~

  • I keep several of my old pairs in a box and an extra in my car....I thought this was normal? I am not a prepper but having an extra set around just makes sense.

  • I have a spare pair as well.

  • Great tip. Thanks.

  • Thank you! I've been putting off going to the eye doctor because I'm a tightwad and have been getting by with bifocal reading glasses I've been buying from another website. Time to get the correct glasses and my long distance vision back!

  • I look forward to your videos. Good info! I am also wondering why your website is down?

  • @novarod Thanks for your kind words. Website is now back up and running. We had a glitch.

  • @Survive2Day Thanks! I'm on it!

  • @novarod SORRY, clicked thumbs down in error.

  • Great tip thanks

  • my eye sight is aweful for my age...damn you technology! but my eyes are very very VERY sensitive to motion, so if my glasses break ill still be able to see if something is there.

  • awesome tip, gonna check this one out thanks!

  • Wow great info on ZENNI glasses THANKS. Always need a few extra pair. Like you I would not make it long with out my glasses. You have many good videos keep them coming .....good luck

  • Now thats great info! Thanks so much! My wife, and I both will be getting some.

  • WTG. Great info... I realy need a new pair...I thank you very much as does my wallett...

  • Awesome!! I have a minus 10 and minus 9 prescription in my eyes, respectively, or in otherwords I'm blind as a bat. I am so thankful for this video/tip!!!!

  • I have been spreading the work on Zenni for 7 years. Great company and product.

  • Man thanks for the info! In prepper rational having like 4 pairs would be a great idea. Hope Demcad sees this too. Thank you for the information

  • I recently got two pairs from them...I am totally satisfied for the $. Highly recommend .

  • i wish u told me this tow weeks ago

  • I order from them all the time. In fact I have expensive glasses from the optometrist and I prefer the ones from zenni. My were more expensive since I got photo gray, shatter proof and progressive lenses.

  • that is such a GREAT DEAL !!!

  • I have to check this out......I would be up the creek with out a paddle and not be able to see where I was going if I broke my glasses. I can't wear contacts. Thanks.....Paula

PS wonder if they make sports type glasses..off to check

  • i was thinking about just getting lasik for 1100 dollars and then I wouldnt need glasses anymore.

  • @radon1234567 Being less dependent on breakable gear that you need to buy again and again is surely a good idea! Just - a friend of mine, a nurse, said that there is better and more reliable technology in testing and it is worth waiting for few years till it comes into use. (I don't remember the details, she was talking to my sister and I don't wear glasses.) Maybe it is worth doing some research.

  • i would like to have some back up glasses.
