  • Its all about utd.

  • Vietnam is happening all over again in Afghanistan and Iraq so none of them should get a hheroes welcome.

  • @vrz07 Way to miss the point of the song. Don't blame the soldiers, blame those in power who send them.

  • They should make a.new yrack regarding Afghan and Iraq war

  • If this does not bring tears to your eyes, heart, and soul then I would not be able to relate to you as being human. This war was nothing but a travesty. It breaks my heart to even try to imagine what those in the military must have seen. No, it wasn't worth it never could possibly have been worth it. It ruined or destroyed lives FOREVER. They suffer to this day. Please know some people had sense enough to know no one asked to be there - they were commanded to do so. I sincerely care.

  • @0917gva

I pay homage and respect to all of the young boys that lost their lives in that silly war, and I wish that all the living survivors may have peace and may have people that take care of them with kindness. To all the people whom were the mind behind this disgrace I hope that they might be burning in hell because of all the pain, loss, sorrow that they've caused to so many families ...

  • NO-NO-NO-NONE OF THEM

  • Allways cool ! 19

  • None of them received a heros welcome... Epic song

  • @hermitmode214 NO NO NO NO NO NO NONE OF THEM

  • The average American citizen thought war was like a John Wayne movie, they couldn,t even begin to imagine the HELL that was Vietnam.

  • is it true that the british army was in Vietnam ??

  • @petewasere2000 iv read that the britsih was sent to burma in ww2 and stayd there till the 60s ??

  • @petewasere2000 Only in 1968 has no British soldier been killed. I believe one of the reasons Britain refused pleas for it to enter Vietnam was the fact that North Vietnam had initially been backed by the US against Britain (on behalf of France) in 1946. However, it is true that some British born US (and also some Canadians - you should bare in mind that Canada still had government connections with Britain until 1982) did fight in vietnam, one of which was my distant cousin (flew chinooks).

  • @petewasere2000 At the end of the Indonesian crisis in the early 60,s some members of the british SAS left the Regiment and went to Australia and went through their SAS selection course so they could fight in Vietnam. Also my uncle mike fought in Vietnam with the RAR even though he was still British.

  • @ghylltarvoke ok thanx for that lol

  • @petewasere2000 I don't think British forces served in that war, but there were many British (ex pats) serving with the Australian and New Zealand Military Forces

  • @petewasere2000 after WW2 Britain was given a mandate to look after the southern part of French Indochina, whilst China looked after the North. The US Backed an opposition government in the North which became the Communist movement the US eventually fought against. The brief period of fighting in 1946 is known as the first vietnam war involving Britain.... watch?v=kUCFTFWx-Oo The actual vietnam war only Australian and NZ SAS took part....

  • @petewasere2000 It is a common misconception that any British troops SAS or other fought at all in vietnam, we were much to busy, having already started what could be called "a fighting retreat" from Empire ensuring no communist insurrections or anti-Western governments took control of former Empire. Conflicts being dealt with before through and after Vietnam were in Palestine, Malaya, Suez, Oman, Brunei, Borneo, Sarawak, Kenya, Cyprus, and Northern Ireland.

  • I'm 41...i remember vietnam. My dad was 82nd airborne in central highlands; he was MIA in 1970. I;ve never met my dad..we still don't know what happened to him. I wish I could've met my dad, but I understand what he did for our country.

  • @kwest317700 respect bro, thanks for your dad's sacrifice

  • @kwest317700 I'm 40. My Dads number never came up. You and your Dad have my respect and gratitude.

  • @kwest317700 Sorry for your loss. My old man did not die in the jungles of Vietnam. He just left and i never got to know him so i can kinda feel your pain. Sorry you grew up not knowing what happened to him. At least i knew my dad was a bum and lived in the same town. I wish my dad did something deserving of honer like your dad. . MIA never forget. The grave yard in my town just installed a rely nice MIA memorial.

  • @kwest317700 ONLY 2 MIA S FROM THE 82ND CPL Robert S. Masuda and PFC David L. Munoz were serving as a machine gun team on a reconnaissance in-force mission northwest of Saigon in Binh Duong Province, South Vietnam on May 13,1969.At about 0900 hours, At about 1100 hours, the unit began moving toward their night position. At 1800 hours, they discovered both men missing.

  • @kwest317700 im a supporter of pow/mia as you no 1,000s of troops didnt return 4 various reasons sm were killed some mia some that were unidentifiable war is the worst way of dealing with ne ting but "kwest" ur dad always loved you weather he is alive today still or past over into gods hands his spirit will always b looking after you im a strong believer that their were 1,000s of our troops left behind in vietnam as pows who no.s if their alive still but the u.s gov no.s more than its letting

  • @kwest317700 Yes,he lost his life for something great, how Americans says, for Freedom!Several thousand miles from his home,Somalia,Vietnam,Iraq,Serbia,Moon,or Indians,or Negros maybe!!?I know what it means to lose a father, but not in a foreign land! You have to be hard, should be strong, should have the responsibility of the successor of such a hero,do not travel araund the world, stay at home with your wife, make a familly and be happy,be statisfied with your own life!

  • @kwest317700 my dad did three tours and made it home i am blessed

  • 怖い

  • @dwynnel : i don't no what the hack your Talking bout brother ! No i've haven't been in the army and it doesn't take no military technical vision to see that the U.S. And SouthVietnam lost the war . Cause the U.S. Went in there(wrongfully like they always do) to help fight the Northvietnamese and the Vietgong , but didn't succeed ! In the end the Northvietnamese took over the whole country and are stil in power . That's all i've said, nothing more .

  • LET'S DO EVERYTHING TO AVOID THIS,

NO MORE YOUNG PEOPLE KILLED FOR THE BENEFITS OF A FEW OLD MEN.

  • @RogeCharles Well said.

  • @RogeCharles i fully agree buddy ...the worst thing is those goes went to vietnam to fight a war that wasnt ours it was the governments the troops that went to vietnam went through hell thousands came home alive thousands didnt those that returned was hated ignored & denied the respect by the general public & u.s government the indivdule soldiers that served over their didnt ask to goto to war in vietnam it was their job but not their fault ....

  • It's a shame that no amount of money, or compensation the armed forces will offer to a soldier who has suffered from post traumatic stress will ever make up for the trauma they have suffered.

  • If we bring back the draft without deferments, these wars would end........ Meaning people with money in the US that do support the war policy as long as their son does not have to go support it...

  • THE LONGEST WAR OF MARICAN HISTROY= AFGHANISTAN NOW

  • What was it Henry Kissinger CFR/DVD/KNIGHT OF MALTA said ''military men are dumb stupid animals to be used as pawns in foreign policy''.

Put your weapons down soldiers, you've been duped let these inbreds fight their own wars.

  • @SrEquixs: they didn't stop anything ! THE communist still stayed in power in Nam !

  • @Paramaribo70 Wake up brother, political ideology means nothing. What matters is how you treat people and how they treat you. Perhaps you would understand that if you had been in combat. Answer me back if you have, otherwise remain silent and think on what I've said.

  • This will always be a top top electro-house tune of all time....Big ups to the Hardcastle-meister! :) --Davey--

  • Soldiers are victims of war too.

  • The Best in 1985

  • @polleroking DON'T say "we" (the USA) and then ask us to translate. if you've been here long enough to start posting on youtube, its time that you learn to speak English, and teach it to the rest of your family. if this is too difficult for you, go back to mexico and try to get on the internet there. none of this matters; you're obviously already here in the USA and able to say ignorant things, and yet have no idea why you are free to say these things. as an individual, you make me sick.

  • @Frontier800 His name is Peter Thomas, you may recognize his voice from PBS/Nova, Forensic Files and Medical Detectives. He's also done 100's of commercials.

  • Outstanding mix!!! love it!!

  • BEST VERSION IN MY OPINION!! Full of cleverly placed and re-edited samples. Unfortunate war, but great track stressing the psychological effects on the soldiers involved.

  • 5 Charlies said no

  • Thanks for posting this. Love this! For all the brothers of 'nam! Keep your head up. Sometimes I regret the 28 years I served, but have to remember the comrades that I served with made it worth it. Made and lost some good friends.

  • It's very ironica that Harcastle's a Chelsea fan!!! Champ19ns and that's a fact!!!!

  • How Ironic Harcastle's a Chelsea fan!!! Champi19ns and that's a fact!!!

  • Damn man u for spoiling this epic

  • As a Vietnam Veteran, well done!!!

  • @possums9 i agree

  • 2/3 of the soldiers in Vietnam were volunteers, 2/3 of the soldiers in World War Two were drafted.

  • @SlippedPurse You should check your facts. The draft was at its peak during the Vietnam war.

  • @SlippedPurse You should check your facts, just because you heard that the draft was higher from your history teacher or your parents doesnt make them right. Americans were more willing to serve their country during the Cold War to protect it from communism than plunge into World War Two. I support both wars, but facts are facts. Youre not worth the time arguing with, so dont bother replying. I wont reply to the misinformed scum that consist of people just like you.

  • Mufc

  • Do you know the name of the documentary PH used in this song?

  • MUFC 19 Times!

  • In der ehemaligen DDR war das Lied VERBOTEN.Das ist so geil gemacht.

  • Worst thing about this war was the poor bastards were called up for it if they were of fighting age. What a waste of lives.

  • Glory Glory Mab United!

  • United!!

  • Thumbs up if you are a United fan!

  • Thumbs up if you are a United fan!

  • brown noise ???! you

  • Great song from the 80s

  • My dad bought this when it first came out, and I was absolutely transfixed. This and 'Axle F' rendered me almost catatonic as a 9 year old. Electro brilliance, and forerunner's to Techno and Acid House.

  • My dad bought this when it first came out, and I was absolutely transfixed. This and 'Axle F' rendered me almost catatonic as a 9 year old. Electro brilliance.

  • THEY ARE THE REAL HEROES THE GOVERMENT ARE THE COWARDS

  • we spend millions on wars but nothing on peace strange how the only winners in war are are the people that send you to war

  • @666satansmaster And also strange how the people who declare the wars, are never the ones who have to take any part in it, instead they find young boys who haven't even lived yet to send over and get blown up for them while they sit back comfortably and indulge in the good life at the soldiers' expense.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 power to the people

  • @TheBookWorm1718 t they was mugged ask the french.

  • first time this song came out was in 79 but it was no suxess, to short tiem i guess.

  • I still have this maxi-single. My fav one

  • They weren't givin a hero's welcome because of the fuckin hippy liberals that ran rampant in this country in the late 60's and early 70's. They are the ones that should have been shot.

  • @Rookie35m i agree with you 100%

  • @Rookie35m They weren't given a hero's welcome because unlike WWII they were flown straight back in in smaller numbers instead of on big troop ships. They were conscripts and the so-called "hippies" were against a war created and fed by the US military industrial complex that your own president warned against in the 50s. face the truth the war was wrong and some people who had the guts to stand up for the truth lost their way and turned on the soldiers who were also victims as conscripts.

  • @agoogleplexpixels Exactly. And if the hippy mentality was one of peace, love and [compassion], the pack mentality of rebellion that prevailed among them was just as heartless as the commanders that kept the soldiers in a Godforsaken place fighting a war they had no right being involved in. Don't mistake my comment as a pro war/government sentiment.

  • @Rookie35m True, sadly.

  • @Rookie35m not Really. The last "good" war was WWII. Talk to a Vet, the ones who make the streets there homes, they will tell you nothing of heroism. Only tragedy and loss of their friends and their own humanity as they were forced to fight. One of the most easily accessible drugs in Vietnam was LSD, take some and find out why Jimi Hendrixx came back and decided to play the blues.

  • @Rookie35m i agree fuck liberals back then and today

  • These poor boys fought for a war they did not even understand. The worst is that the bastards who sent them to Vietnam did not and still do not feel ashamed for what they did. Every vet deserves our respect.

  • @rugbytlse Amen to that. I don't get why the soldiers were treated so terribly when they returned home because they did NOT choose to go to war for 10 years and go through everything they did, that decision was made for them, and they were given the choice of go to war, or go to jail and be branded a traitor to their country, so how were they supposed to win?

  • Bomb exploded.....

  • i am 65 .....and i am still in the jungle.....wellfare does care for me...i wasent able to pick up a job...but i still see the.....well come on....

  • @madsaddeussen I'm so sorry for your pain friend...Thank you for serving. I bow to you!

  • @madsaddeussen I salute you, you deserve our respect every second of your life.

  • All those who remember the war

They won't forget what they've seen..

Destruction of men in their prime

    whose average was 19

  • My favorite part was from 0:00 to 8:21

  • I used to dance to this,Then 1 day i really listened to it.And i rembered watching walter cronkite reporting and seeing b-52s.Droping bombs looking like miniatomic blast."Good night they are going to blow up that place!!"My grand dad said"No they can't but making a very good go at it.The 1 thing that sticks with me.Is the way they where treated when came home.It was just wrong they didn't deserve to be treated like that.Any vets out there that see this.I send you guys much respect.

  • Ich hatte damals 5 Maxis von diesem Track...

  • I'm so sorry for how you Vietnam Vets were treated. Maybe we shouldn't have been there but we were and those men and women fighting over there for us deserved more for what they saw and had to do. It's not up to the soldier where he goes or does not go but the Government. People should have blamed them and thanked the people fighting. Thank you each and every one of you who served over there. I'm so sorry for what you'll had to endure.

  • @Medweasel TOTALLY AGREE!!!! THANK YOU ... ALL OF YOU!!!

  • I had this 12" back in those days. Great song, one of the first where a sampler is used. A sampler was very expensive then (approx 100k) !!

  • great song no doubt.

  • war what is good for fuck all thats what

  • danke fürs uppen.

ich habe mehr für long-versionen übrig als für das normale ! ^^

    gruß zero1

  • I got this on Vynal 2day!

  • @DJDCious Nice!! How in the hell did you find it?

  • @fightingmink my nan had it in her attic along with oxygene and the planets (by holst)

  • What is that need for war in that country? People thinking stuff like "as long as we want something, we're going to fight and kill to get it" or "wars won't stop".

Wars must stop, they might help us get better technology, but people dies, plants die, animals die, cultures die, countries die, years of histoy turn into seconds of death and destruction.

The worse part of all this, war exist, no matter what I say.

  • top version !!

  • Been looking for this mix for EVER. Brilliant, moving, and should be required listening for everyone to remind them what a complete obscenity the Vietnam war was, and how an entire generation was shat upon by a so-called civilised regime in the USA who were kow-towing to the Military-Industrial Complex. President Johnson should have been named a war criminal. Fact.

  • @brianartillery look up the men who killed kennedy documentart series on you tube and you will see a lawyer named Barr Mclelend or something like that basically PROVES beyond a shadow of a doubt that Johnson was privy to Kennedys assassination as was Richard Nixon and J Edgar Hoover who all attended a party , a SECRET party the night before the assassination, and when he emerged from a closed door meeting Johnson said to his long-time mistress that Kennedy was not going to be around much longer

  • @brianartillery Nixon didn't do a great job either, but at least he brought an end to it.

  • @brianartillery Kennedy got the US into the war, he also escalated it. LBJ played his part, but it was NIXON who ended it.

Not a history people choose to remember, but fact nonetheless.

I was a Canadian volunteer with Australian forces.

  • @EarlofCrawford no it was dwight eisenhower who started this war in 59 we did not get fully into it until kennedy got in the war started in 1945 france was there and told us to stay out of it but we did not listen the war started in 1945 and ended in 1975

  • Its too bad that the politicians dont see what they are doing to Americas youth. Politiicians who want war should pick up a weapon themselves and go

  • @soccerbro4

Don't generalise. There are politicians; ie Ron Paul against the war.

  • respect for de soldiers....greetings vlaanderen.

  • If we don't curtail the greed that is endemic in the higher echelons of society, government and industry, shit WILL hit the fan in a profound and severe way.

We speak multiple languages, yet we cling to Walmart and coca cola as our gods, get our self into global financial straights because we want to live beyond our means, and the solution is to spend more? On defense contracts? Yes, we're fucking stupid.

I wish I was an ant. Then at least I wouldn't feel the betrayal for having been a warrior.

  • Indeed we need a new world order. Soon we gonna see the age of aquarious a new age say bye bye to jesus. He only bring wars upon us. People starving to death. Fuck religion they are bringers of desolation. Fuck money too. If we speak one language we can understand each other. See the ants so little and so powerful. My respect but we do not need any god to do so.

  • @ninjaitsu2 i'm sorry, but humans are SO much more than ants. you can live in your own little ant world if you want. but i would much rather have art, meaningful sex, sky dive, and have fun for the fun of it. and before you decide to hit reply, analyze your comment before you try to derail your response. you want us to be ants and speak one language. how about being smart and speaking multiple languages instead of being a stupid ant and only speaking 1.

  • terribel

  • mannaggia

  • them poor bastards were sent out there nowing they wouldnt ever win and got treat like shit when they did come ,,,they deserve more than a medal they need there lifes and friends back .

  • version française par yve mourousi bravo davoir trouvé

  • Down with KOMUNISMUS

  • I therefore logically claim that it will take 300 years before disputes and wars are over. . .The world needs to unite, but alas, this time period is not ready. . .Deep down inside other species know that some people 'enjoy' war, and always want to be remembered that doesnt look good. . .So no, its not WWIII, and these disputes will carry on, but ironically I think there is a bright future for this sphere. . .Unfortunately not for some time. . .

  • @Archaicconjurer War will NEVER be over because it's in human nature to kill eachother for something we want, and as long as there are humans on Earth war will nevver end.

  • Let us just pause to think if wars can be averted, we live on a realitively small planet, when brother fights brother, friend against friend, countries once allies become enemies. . .Opulence, greed, power, money. . .Ive never known a planet so indulged in finances. . .But forget that, basically this society since the Romans has known no better. . .But ask yourself if even suburbs in one united country cannot get along, how on earth can a planet that doesnt even speak the same language!

  • And as history turns its ugly head, now we have troops yet again in action, groan, surprise surprise in Afghanistan. . .Although radical fundementalists who believe killing people will grant them entry to nirvana, they are further from the truth. . .Even the Koran states to incorporate love. . .But this I can tell you there are 60 Al Quida leaders at large who are ATHIEST! They are brainwashing lambs to the slaughter, and let us not forget, again surprise, not, how their funds come in, opium!

  • War is never the answer. . .In reply to Broken Veteran, my sympathies are to you, I understand PTSD more than anyone else. . .As you may be aware 1/3 of all active deployed soliders in Vietnam and Thailand partook in narcotic abuse. . .The Russians helped the NV armies with training, weapons and funds, as part of a proxy war that backfired on the USSR later on, when they fought in Afghanistan in 1980 - 1988, which again was another proxy war, because the USA helped the afghans

  • 2 scumbag republicans that started wars,

Both found guilty by public, none went to jail!

That's right I said it, now prove me wrong!

  • Buenísima!!!

  • GEIL !!!

  • Was not worth it! No way!

  • one of the rare 12" records i could afford to buy back then. the lyrics and music affected me deeply.

  • dddd

  • I'm a former jarhead, and to all who've posted, I hope the screaming someday diminishes.. somewhat.

    I wish it would.

  • super Titel

  • Only a little bit more and this current war will be the longest war in history. And for what? For a liitle bit more money for the rich. Fuck Iraq and Afghanistan war.

Bring the soldiers home. Stop Imperialism.

  • Junge ich bin 15 und das lied ist einfach nur geil

  • Remember. The exact same thing is happening to our boys today in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    And for what?

Shout out loud to get our young boys outa there!

    Now!!!

  • i never got that war out of my head. I was 18 in country IN 69 i WISHED i HAD died there

  • My father volunteered to go to Vietnam to fight the "commies" when he was 18 but since his elected job classification was in electronic warfare they put him at a DMZ at the N Korean border. He said that he had seen ominous levels of hatred in the eyes of the men sent to Vietnam, and he completed his stint in 1969, married my mother in 1970 and in '72 I was born. He always discouraged me from military service. I was barely an infant when it was all going on, but this video makes me sad.

  • Still gives me goosebumps. I always wondered if they really sent children to Vietnam, as if the average age was 19 it means that there had to be younger soldiers.

  • what does it mean when he describes the vc as being 12ft tall though?

  • @ishredu

just that; 12 effing feet tall!

I fought insurgents in [withheld] that were at least ten feet tall, with blue steel cojones hanging who ate special forces for breakfast and pissed gasoline.

    .

that's.. what it means to be tweve feet tall, and take down the 25th inf reg with a bag of rocks.

    'kay?

    :)

  • I just bought this one on 12" , g'damn I love it!

  • Political electro. Brilliant track.

Not about to discuss the travesty of Vietnam on YouTube though.

  • Our government drafted and sent about 800,000 men to fight marxism in Vietnam. About 50,000 died. Our government has changed its mind and now follows Karl Marx. I am very disappointed with our government regarding that issue, but that is a different subject. Anyway, should some government spokesperson apologize to the Vietnam vets and their families for the damage they were required to endure, now that the government has embraced the ideology those young men were forced to combat?

  • Respect to all those who lost there lives in this battle. Such a waste !!

  • Da war ich grad 16...das war und ist noch immer ein Hammersong^^

  • @trigot33 Name a single war that's NOT about resources in the last 100 years. Politicians, MEN of power, MEN of greed, empire builders have been deliberately starting wars in our name for too long.

  • Sorry to stop the political discussion but, that Yamaha DX7 bell sound that comes in at 1:33 is lush. Nice one Hardcastle!

  • i ask to the veterans,i ask to the soldier,i ask to the victim of war,why figth an hole country that you dont know, where you will be always consider an outsider, and death will always be an certain one for you,wen others r profit with your blood, selling weapons to your country and the other conflit country, stealing oil and selling to you for the highiest price???? wanna be a hero, kill those one that throw you to hell.i will have my oportunity someday, get yours.

  • Peace Boys all over the world.

respect for veterans & victims off wars

stop the fight for money or power

thx for rescue off allies but STOP WARS Let the music play - - - Enjoy the life...
