First off, the south's education suffers so much because of how WE have handled it. Not putting tax money to it, for various reasons, ect. While the general poverty in the south is partially due to the war, it is also due to how the rich upper class have horded it in years past.

Neither should be winning a war which the odds were so much in the North's favor in terms of men, guns, supplies, money, food, navy, and most things you can think of. But the Civil War was a COMPLETELY different animal. The Civil War was about states wanting to govern as sovereign nations but still draw resources from the federal government as a whole without obeying federal mandates.

First off, the south's education suffers so much because of how WE have handled it. Not putting tax money to it, for various reasons, ect. While the general poverty in the south is partially due to the war, it is also due to how the rich upper class have horded it in years past.

But the Civil War was a COMPLETELY different animal. The Civil War was about states wanting to govern as sovereign nations but still draw resources from the federal government as a whole without obeying federal mandates.
