  • can I change EL34B to standard EL34?

  • @donnied1984 Absolutely! It will be plug and play on the newer 1960-INFINIUM. The older 1960 model will require a bias adjustment, though.

  • Dang I was really hoping for the 1960 I to come out Friday. But it didn't. :/. Do you know when it will ship out?

  • @jordan1234564 the 1960-INFINIUM has been shipping. I'm not exactly sure when it will arrive at a certain retailer. Many retailers are expecting them by the end of either this month or March.

  • Hello, i have alot of questions about this amp. if saw some videos about this amp and i heard that on the infinium models theres a master volume that still uses the power tubes, so is the master volume knob like an attenuator? and can it play with distorted tones on bedroom volumes? and can it handle stuff like randy rhoads/metallica/megadeth(maybe with an overdrive pedal)? or would you recommend me something els? because i really like this vintage style. and does the cleans break up much? thnx.

  • @LeaveMeTheFkAlone It's a post-phase inverter master volume. It's not quite like an attenuator, but it does allow you to get a lot more crunch at lower volumes. It can definitely handle old-school metal with a boost up front. :)

  • @crnogr the 1960 head is slightly more powerful than the 212V-BK cab, I would recommend using a larger cabinet like the 412H-BK. :)

  • Hey , People ! Put an eye on this amp, specially on infinum , cos of master , but , I think , 150w , is too strong for home use , on 2x12'' V ( 140w ) so , distordion , will epire bofore it's time , from cabinet ?! Will be greatfull for a tip ! Regards !

  • Hey guys, when are you gonna make some demoes of the INFINIUM models? The 1960 in particular would be cool to hear with the RR-mod and how the head would sound at lower volumes!

  • @MrSkAtEfReAk12 ...you know, every once in a while I'll hear a guitar riff in the office, and notice it's coming from our video department...

  • @bugera I take that as if you indirectly told me sooner or later my wish will come true?

  • @MrSkAtEfReAk12 I can't promise anything specific, but SOMEBODY'S making noise in there!

  • @bugera i love your amp but I don't know which amp suits me the best for playing stuff like Gn'R, Van Halen, Jimmi Hendrix and some blues so I need it to be versatile plus enough power for medium-large gigs.

  • @PAINKILLER7553 based on your needs, I would recommend either the 333XL or 1990. 1960 would be good, too if having footswitchable channels isn't too important.

  • I agree with Kromekrush... I have a Marshall JVM 210 with two 1960 vintage cabs, I also have the Bugera 1960 head and I can tell you it's a great amp, clean and killer grinding crunch with power that will shake your chest. You dont have to nutz pending tons of money... just play it, hear it and feel it, then you decide.

  • led zeepelin tone *o*

  • after playing mine. Be brave make your own choices.

  • People want the security of knowing that they can spend 3500 bucks on an amp head and magically they are excused from actually having to use their ears or know anything about anything, because they bought something with the right name on it. Screw em! I am a professional musician. I record in some of the best studios in the country, I have been around the world more than one with these. They've never let me down. Further more I have seen some world class players run out and buy them

  • @kromekrush :)

  • What it really comes down to is that people are pissed off that you can now have great tone in a reliable amp and you don't have to sell a kidney to get it. Screw the elitism! Choose with your ears not your eyes! These are great products for a great price. The people who don't see that are (in my experience) usually the same people who brag about the gear they have as if it makes up for their inability to play.

  • Because of the affordability of these amps they are many times the first tube amps people own. So they go many times to owner who don't know how to properly handle tube amps. Hence they have issues but usually only because of user error. True enough the some of the early amps did have some issues, but those kinks have long since been worked out. These amps are incredible.

  • I've played my 333xl, 1990, 6262, and V55HD all over the place. I have kicked the crap out of em and can say with absolute certainty this is a great amp. I have had no reliability issues at all. These are the secret weapons of the studio and session players. Sorry but its true. And no I don't work for them, nor am I endorsed or paid by them in any way.

  • hi, what amp would be the best for stuff like : metallica, g'n'r , megadeth, the rolling stones, led zeppelin? mostly i play metallica.

  • @LeaveMeTheFkAlone I'd recommend the 1990 or 333XL...

  • would you reccomend this for things like malmsteen?

  • @batuhanenez 1960 is an excellent choice for that, as is the 1990. Depends on how loud you want to play! :)

  • Can't wait to get the new 1960I amp, 1960 sounds AMAZING. Any idea when it's supposed to be for sale yet? Thanks

  • @jordan1234564 It's the next in line to ship from the factory. Just an estimate, but should be in stores this spring.

  • Why does mine only do clean tones unless I make the earthquake?

  • @MrGuyjackson That's the way British-style amps were in the 60's/early 70's...turn it up to get crunch sounds. That said, these amps respond to attenuators and OD pedals VERY well, which is how a lot of folks are using 'em.

The new 1960-INFINIUM model has a bypassable master volume on the back to get crunch sounds at more neighbor (and soundman) friendly volumes. Cheers!

  • Wow it sounds like an orange Rockerverb 100 instead of the Marshall from which it's cloned. Still to get an amp equivalent to a $2000 amp might be worth it. But I hear of so many people saying these amps catch on fire due to poor workmanship?

    It's a financial risk!!!!!!

  • @luteplayer2525 Don't believe everything you read on the forums. ;)

  • @luteplayer2525 First, the amps-catching-on-fire thing? I'd be surprised if one Bugera in two hundred does that. Second, when people talk about the reliability issues, they're generally referring to the early ones. A few critical components were moved, eliminating the heat-related failures. It might fail, any amp might, but it's no more likely to fail than a Marshall, and it certainly won't burst into flames.

  • @bugera is the 1960 good for bass? Im looking for an old school bass tone (superbass/hiwatt/laney type of tone) will this suit my needs?

  • @bugera is the 1960 good for bass? Im looking for an old school bass tone (superbass/hiwatt/laney type tone) will this suit my needs?

  • @bugera how much low end does this put out? Channel 2 sounds like it would be good for bass, since it puts out more low end.

  • @bugera is the 1960 good for bass? Im looking for an old school bass tone (superbass/hiwatt/laney type tone) will this suit my needs?

  • @sabbathmc97 We don't have anyone in the office who has tested the 1960 on bass, I'm afraid... :( It might sound cool, but I would strongly advise against using it with a guitar cabinet in this application. We do have a 300W all tube bass head (BVV3000) coming early 2012, though.

  • @bugera is this good for gun n roses tones? or is the 1990 better for those tone? thanks you!

  • @kobrw The 1960 is a fantastic amp, but of the two I would probably choose the 1990 for G'N'R. Cheers!

  • @bugera I understand that this is kind of a mix between a Hiwatt and Plexi. I don't have $2500 to spend on those so I look to you for a cheaper alternative.

  • @bugera is the 1960 good for bass? Im looking for an old school bass tone (superbass/hiwatt/laney type tone) will this suit my needs?

  • Is the 1960 good for bass? Im looking toward an old school bass tone (late 60's and 70's plexi/hiwatt/laney tone) will this suit my needs?

  • The tone is almost exactly like "Physical Graffiti" and "Led Zeppelin II" ! Color me impressed.

  • Is this how much gain is on the amp? Or has he got a dist pedal?

  • @ZaxistTM That's all 1960! However he does have it turned up quite loud. On the new 1960-INFINIUM, there's a bypassable master volume on the back panel for more crunch at reasonable volumes!

  • @ZaxistTM This is what needs to be understood about Plexi type amps: you have to saturate the power section in order to get the distortion people expect out of these amps. You can only do that if you crank these suckers at ear splitting levels. They are not bedroom amps. The louder you play them, the more they distort. While Mesa's use preamp distortion to sound decent at lower levels, these amps are the opposite. It's all power amp distortion. Van Halen I was recorded with a Marshall Plexi.

  • @skaterguitar4ever You will be able to use an A/B switch, but input arrangement on the new 1960 INFINIUM is different than predecessor 1960 model: there will be 2 options where you could simultaneously plug in two jacks & use an A/B switch. In the 1&2 Parallel, Dual Inputs version, each channel would be in strict parallel. The Dual Input Cascaded option below should offer useful gain variation in cascaded format using the -6 dB LOW input.

  • price?

  • @Casteanguitar Depends on your location but under $500 in the US. Cheers!

  • what distortion pedal are you using in this video?

  • @joeycacauero None!

  • @bugera Wow, it's very nice!

  • @joeycacauero Thank you! We like it a lot.

  • Can I get some great clean with no breakup on this amp?

  • @aigmeyer Yes, but mostly at low volumes. The 1960 is all about old-school simplicity; high gain at high volume. Check out the 333XL for super clean cleans!

  • @bugera Another question x). Can I get a lot of drive on this without my ears exploding? Or if I want a moderate volume and the ability of clean and driven tones, would you suggest the 55w is better?

  • @EpicLemurz That sounds like a good idea, but don't forget that the forthcoming 1960 INFINIUM, which will have a master volume control.

  • yea im looking for a really clean sound .... like jazz or indie but i also like to play rock/metal (just for kicks)... im on about a 1000 dollar budget and im hearing great reviews on this.. but im not 100% sure.. would it be right for me and if so what cab should i use...

  • @TheNightmaresEnd Look into the 333XL. It's got exceptional high-volume cleans; the 1960 breaks up with high volume. The 333XL also has more versatile overdrive options. Cheers, man!

  • @bugera im looking at reviews and demonstrations and all i see is metal..... im kinda looking for something that can push the tube sound really hard and have a thick sound... aiming for stuff like Eric Johnson and Joe satriani... I know Johnson used a Marshall 59 Plexi but considering i dont have that kind of money i was looking at your 1960.. arent you coming out with a new plexi?

  • Respond to this video... @TheNightmaresEnd Our entire line of amps (sans the 'vintage' series) is getting reissued with INFINIUM technology. the 1960 in particular is getting some additional upgrades, including a master volume control and some channel cascade options. Check the bugera-amps site for more info!

  • @TheNightmaresEnd

One of the best cleans I've heard out of a bugera would certainly be the V 55 - 6l6 powered. get the cab version, although the bugera V 55 head with 6l6GC (str) in them and do good with a AT7 in the preamp, plus instead of the regular Bugera speaker, a 15 inch Jensen sounds gorgeous!!

  • 2.30 CUT

  • Does this amp play clean at all? or should I be looking at a v55? I'm on a really small budget, so not looking for anything too expensive.

  • @EpicLemurz Yes, you can get a clean tone from the 1960 at lower volumes.

  • you guys should do a demo of this amp after it's jumped :-D cause I did that to mine and man does it scream

  • how can you get the distortion? because i played a marshall 1959 slp in a guitar shop but it was so clean. How is it possible that this amp is so cheap?

  • how can you get the distortion? because i played a marshall 1959 slp in a guitar shop but it was so clean. How is it possible that this amp is so cheap?

  • @JohanBakker1995 The 1960 gets more distortion at high volumes. Our amps are cheap for many reasons: efficient manufacturing, and high-quantity component purchasing, which significantly reduces costs. We pass the savings on to you!

  • @bugera when will you be able to get the infinuim version??

  • @21zband the 1960 INFINIUM ships from our factory on 10/03/2010. They should be in stores by November.

  • @bugera oh man I want one

  • @ChrisW12208 Let's make it happen!

  • @JohanBakker1995 You have to do it the old-school way: TURN IT UP! :) You may be interested in the 1960 INFINIUM that has a master volume built in!

  • Hey guys, I know that you're not really in to this kind of music, but I was thinking about getting a 1990 for early-alternative-rock-ish-stuff-that-sounds-kind-of-JCM800/900-y-and-is-pretty-crunchy like Pixies and early Weezer etc... Would that be a good idea?

    Thanks.

  • @Smoshfans112 We are supportive of whatever music you want to make, and the 1990 sounds like a great choice.

  • @bugera Ok, thanks guys.

  • When is the trirec gonna be on sale and are you going to do a head version of the magician?

  • @cortarelva The TRIREC will be on store shelves in November. There are no plans for a MAGICIAN head at this time, but we have been getting a lot of requests for it!

  • @bugera i feel like the only one who got that reference

  • A good Plexi-type amp for cheap, so I hate to bitch...But why is the 1960 so freakishly TALL? It looks like a Down's Syndrome, "waterhead" Plexi...Kinda aesthetically yucky...

  • @gwugluud Don't know what to say... haven't heard that particular issue before with this amp. But, hey, we've got lots more to choose from. What's your favourite style amp?

  • @bugera Sorry for that...hard week...No, the company seems to really be hitting the spot. Plenty of diff amps to choose from -- fascinating! The 1960 is a cool amp. A Plexi for $400, that's beyond amazing...Are the 1960s with that distortion mod shipping yet? They don't seem to be online anywhere. Thanks for the patient, kind reply, bro.

  • @gwugluud The 1960 INFINIUMs ship next month!

  • what effects are being run into this setup?

  • @mistad00m None. NOFX. :)

  • @bugera

so you ran the amp at a full 150 watts to achieve that breakup?

    even without an attenuator?

  • @mistad00m Nope. No attenuator, but the cabinet was mic'ed in an isolated room off-camera. Check out 2:55 for a clear shot of the amp settings. Cheers!

  • sorry but i don't understand how to use the 4inputs

  • @JohnScorp1 Heya! The 1960 is a two channel amp, and there are high and low gain inputs for each channel. The two channels can even be connected together via a small patch cable!

  • @bugera sorry but how can i put two cables in one guitar?

  • @JohnScorp1 Sorry, that wasn't clear. You use a single cable from the guitar to the input of your choice. If you like, you can connect 2 channels on the face of the amp via a small patch cable.

  • @bugera well i mean i want to use and the overdrive channel and the clean channel in a song

  • @JohnScorp1 Oh, I see. True to its old-fashioned nature, the 1960 isn't a channel-switching amp. Your channel is chosen by the input you choose. If you want switchable channels, check out the BUGERA 1990, 333, 333XL, 6260, or 6262!

  • @bugera Oh ok thank my first mind was the 1990one but i wanted to check out this too

  • Hi Bugera Staff! I want to buy some of your amps. I'm getting the trirec as soon as its available. But I would also like some vintage sounds in my studio. I need something close to Andy Timmons sound; very warm and thick distortion with beautiful cleans. Should I go for the 1960 or the 1990? Thanks for your time!

  • @HeilTheOperator Hey man! I'd lean toward the 1990, but don't count out the V55 or V55HD!

  • @bugera Thanks for answering! As a customer I really appreciate that kind of service and attention! I'm traveling abroad to buy your amps, since here in México you can't find em anywhere. Why don't you distribute your amps here? It's a pretty big market, since tube amps in México are very very expensive because of customs and music stores profits. It could be a huge opportunity for your company. Thanks again for your time!

  • that sounds KILLER!

  • Do you have an attenuator to get the volume down? A cranked 120watt amp sounds very loud!!!

  • @321asker123 It gets very loud indeed! We had the cabinet isolated in a separate room. Cheers!

  • Hi! Which one of these Bugera heads do you think would give me the best classic rock sound? AC/DC has always been my main-influence as a guitarist.

    I appreciate any feedback!!

    Vegard

  • @VetoGTR This one, the 1960, for sure. Cheers!

  • Hey, what amp do you propose for the closest Yngwie Malmsteen solo sound?

    Thankyou.

  • @p4tr1ckn4v0 This one, the 1960!

  • Can this amp handle a Variac lowering it's voltage to 89v? (EVH tone for the first VH albuns)

  • @mr4y Variacs can badly damage an amp and Eddie was constantly having his "holy grail" serviced during the time he used the variac. He stopped using it after Women and Children First. You can get a good EVH tone with this amp without a variac.

  • I'm looking for a Marshall Super Bass sound for Tool-ish Adam Jone's Tone...Do you think this model from Bugera will be the closest to that setup? THanks :)

  • Like the amp

  • Hey what can do a early a van halen tone? this or the bugera 6262?

  • @CharlesTeeVee The 6260 will be your best bet!

  • @bugera You sure? cause eddie did use a a marshall 1959 plexi just asking....

  • @CharlesTeeVee Yeah, but Eddie's Plexi was HIGHLY modified. Our tone gurus around the BUGERA office believe that the 6260 is more capable of getting the tone you seek than the 1960. Tone is highly subjective. The best way to find out which amp if right for getting the tone you want is to bring your guitar into a BUGERA dealer and try the amps out firsthand to hear for yourself. :)

  • @bugera Good idea may i ask what does the bugera 6260 supposed to resemble? Peavey 5150? Peavey 5150 II? just guessing

  • Hey bugera, I have a couple of questions...

1.What does it mean to channel jump?

    2. How do you do it?

    3. Can you do it on this bugera?

    4. what does channel jumping do?

  • @CharlesTeeVee Channel jumping is when you run the amp's 2 channels in parallel, so you can use the 2 volume knobs to mix the tones together. Usually your guitar plugs into Hi 1, then jumper cables goes from Lo 1 to Hi 2, but you can experiment with various combinations! The upcoming INFINIUM 1960 has the built-in ability to cascade ch1 into ch2 like the Randy Rhoads modification, which is a pretty sought-after sound!

  • CAn u get a good early EVH sound?

  • @StratBanez101 Yes! This is the best BUGERA for the job!

  • @bugera how about with the bugera 1960 infinum?

  • @StratBanez101 Absolutely. The INFINIUM updates do not alter the tone of the amps—after all, why change a great thing? :) INFINIUM multiplies tube life by 20x, with zero sonic consequence.

  • @bugera NICE! How much does it go for? and when is it going to be released because i cant find it anywhere!

  • @StratBanez101 Yep, they aren't out quiiiiite yet. First round of INFINIUM amps leaves the factory in July. It will cost around $499.99 USD. Cheers man!

  • @bugera OK cool im interested in buying one

  • @bugera OK cool

  • @friendofthesun:

Yep, you can use a power attenuator that runs between the head and the cab. You can turn the head all the way up, set the power suck at 10% or whatever, and get the killer tone at a lower volume. Power attens run from about $50 up to $400 or more.

  • @rodhorn54 Or you can get the bugera 1960 infinum because it comes with a master volume control in the back to get good distortion with a good volume

  • @StratBanez101 That's right!

  • Channel jump+metal muff equals metal bliss

  • I own this amp and love it. Any questions you have about this amp email me at thetoneclone@gmail.com

  • Is there a possibility to get this kind of saturated tone without having the volume knob all the way up?

  • @friendofthesun1 The 1960 is a more old-fashioned amp that gets high-gain at high volume. The INFINIUM version of the 1960, shipping in July, has a "Master" volume control on the back that allows you to have high-gain tone at a more reasonable volume level!

  • does this have a a gain knob or is all the gain just from the tube break up?

  • @SpankieDublin33 Nope, no gain knob or master volume! Old-school distortion style, just 1 volume knob per channel; crank for distortion and volume. This amp caters to the "less is more" approach! :)

  • when is the 1960 infinium going to be available in the UK? i'm dying to get one!

  • Check out my Bugera 1960 Clean sound demo on my page. Love the amps. Saving up to get some new Infinums.

  • @flyhi94 Thanks for your support, we'll check it out!

  • Great Tone, Great Player, Great Amp! Thanks for the video man!

  • @ferrovelhorock You're very welcome! More on the way!

  • @hondaorido

If your playing in an arena, don't have any neighbors and like to stand 100 feet away from your amp, or you get it modded with a master volume. The new Bugera 1960 Infinium should be better for Slash stuff. The preamp is cascaded to give more gain and it has a Master volume. I'm guessing it will sound like a Jcm 800 because all an 800 is is a plexi with the pream cascaded.

  • soo ehm can ya get a clean sound to ?

and still get high volume, or does it crack up then ?

im not familiar to that kind of amps

  • @tryanglz Your suspicion is correct, so you must know something about it after all! The 1960 is a more old-fashioned style amp, so understand that it will produce distorted tones at high volume. The newer 1960 INFINIUM will have a master volume knob (hidden on the back!) that will allow you to have a louder clean tone.

  • @bugera : hey, this amp is good for slash sound??? i have an epiphone les paul...

  • I have a buddy in a Van Halen tribute band who bought one of these in a pinch after his real Plexi died. All he did was swap the tubes with Tung-Sols in the preamp and 6CA7 re-issues (the same ones Eddie used) in the power section and he says it's closer than his real 1967 Marshall. I'm tempted to get one of these.

  • @DarthKazi Thanks for the input. With the new Infinium versions of the amps, swapping out and experimenting with tubes is going to be a lot easier (auto-biasing.)

  • if only les pauls didnt go out of tune all the damn time..... good sound tho

  • @bugera no attenuator? how it is possible?! mine with volume around 3 it's EXTREMELY LOUD... it's impossible!

  • killer tone. great playing dude!

  • Thank you. I liked the demo. I am going to look into getting a 1960!

  • sounds fantastic!!!

  • im extreamly interested in buying this amp

was wondering if you could do a quick dokken cover(preferably dream warriors) cuz thats the kinda tone im goin/looking for in an amp

if you do put the amp setting at

    treb 6 mid 4 bass 6 pres 4(these r the settings i use)

dnt have to do the whole song just certain pieces i guess haha

    thanks

  • Might be the EQ but it doenst sound to ballsy, the d was really thin and sharp, shocked me a bit since im really interested in this one. you should really do a proper review with a different EQ to give us an Idea of whats Guitar and whats the Amp that we hear.

  • sounds killer but they break down after a while =[

  • which cabinet is used? loved the tone, i want to buy one, but no shop here in belgium sells them!

  • no attenuator? how it is possible?! mine with volume around 3 it's EXTREMELY LOUD... it's impossible!

  • no attenuator? how it is possible?! mine with volume around 3 it's EXTREMELY LOUD... it's impossible!

  • You really ought to do a demo of the 1960 as a BASS amp! It's a beautifully clean and musical amp and makes an amazing bass amp! That's how I use mine...

  • 0:47 - 0:55 GNR Appetite for Destruction tone right there! Love it!

  • 0:47 to 0:55 GNR APD tone right there! Love it!

  • one question, is this thing suited to do metallica stuff?? or stuff like bark at the moon/crazy train?

  • @gerby90 the nature of this amp is of the plexi family so metallica stuff is a lil bit beneath this amp. the amp will sound most like AC/DC. this amp "stock" falls short of of Randy Rhoads tone unless you get the RR modification for it. NOW!! REMEMBER this amp is 150 watts "alot more than any marshall tube amp", once you modify RR style IT WILL DOMINATE ALL OTHER AMP'S! you will kill, I MEAN KILL engel's, bogners, laney's all these modern tube amp's. I know I own this 1960 BUG RR modified.

  • @gerby90 On its own, probably not. Crazy Train, perhaps, but anything with more gain will either require a mod or some sort of pedal, and to do any kind of metal, you might want to get some sort of EQ pedal, as these amps are very mid-range oriented, much like the Marshall 1959 Plexi after which they are modeled. These amps are designed to recreate more of a Jimi Hendrix or early AC/DC sound.

  • Mine doesnt sound like that cranked. Sounds kinda harsh.

  • @flyhi94 yeah it's kinda harsh sounding in this vid, but not too bad, he should've dialed some warmth, check out my demo I bridged the two channels, it's awesome if you can hear it live, BIG, FAT WARM, LOUD, CLEAR TONE! There's no substitute for a cranked up tube amp sound!!!

  • This demo sucks. How about dialing in some real EQ? Just cranking all the knobs all the time is fucking stupid. There is a purpose for those knobs, and that is to actually find settings with them, not just turn them all the way up.

  • @8x26x08 Sorry you don't like it; we have more 1960 demos on the way with different guitars and tone settings.

  • @bugera That dude should tell Mick Mars not to crank all the knobs..... lol no fucking way iwould that ever happen. Mick is known to crank the knobs all the way. ALL OF THEM lol.

  • @bugera I seriously admire your patience!

  • @8x26x08 - I'm guessing you're not familiar with the way alot of players back in the day use Plexi-style amps(which the 1960 is)... they often cranked everything to 10. There were no such things as huge pa systems back then - that's how 100-watt stacks came into being... These are VERY different beasts than today's master volume amplifiers. (by the way, he doesn't have everything cranked to 10 thru out this video - maybe you didn't pay attention)

  • @8x26x08 Tell that to Eddie van halen, Jimmi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jimmy Page
