  • I couldnt tell enya was in it til i noticed the full title name

  • srunning all round !

    Thanks.

  • Utterly utterly beautiful ...

  • And you added Enya's name because? Seriously, I wish people would stop adding Enya's name onto the end of titles just to drag in an audience...

  • why is every song that sounds anything like an Enya song attributed to Enya wether she is in it or not?

  • To Jerry, my dear friend and time traveller... thank-you for this beautiful share, hugs Kira x

  • loved the editing :)

  • This is so-o-o beautiful - every bit of it. And this song has been around for a long time - we sang it in the 1960's in choir

  • so......so....so touching

  • She has such a beutifull voice

  • James Taylor really hits the nail on the head when he sings this song. Loved it when he sang on the Boston Pops with John Williams!

  • Niamh Parsons's version of this song is the definitive one in my mind.

  • wow, what an amazing voice. I just replayed this song like a thousand times.

  • I love it ! thanks for share, It is just beautiful... Gracias por la traducción también <3

  • Love this song. Im gonna sing it in choir for springfest

  • my favorite version of this is sung by two norwegians Kurt Nilsen and Elin Gaustad...really beautiful.....you will not be dissapointed ; ))

  • Nice but have you heard Roger McGuinn's version from 1973? The first one you hear seems to be the one that sticks. Have also heard Karla Bonoff's and indigo girls but I guess I always loved Roger/Jim McGuinn and the Byrds.

  • Beautiful. Have to say I love Karla Bonoff''s version more--but only because it was the first one I learned.

  • this is very beautiful

  • Singing this in choir...

  • I remember singing this in choir!!! But I couldnt remember the name for the longest time!!!! I think I might sing this for our up coming concert!

  • im singing this in choir

  • good pictures+ wonderful song = 1 more person clicking the like button

  • :O Wow....

  • I am singing this in my choir class in May 2011.

  • ~ BEAUTIFUL ~ THANK YOU ~ SMILES ~

  • Mecnunla leylanin, aski bile benim sana olan askimin yaninda milyonda bir bile degil.

  • It's a song that begs harmony singing, as with Tommy Emmanuel, Lizzy Watkins & Doyle Dykes, but the arrangement here is breathtakingly sweet.

  • Truly a beautiful song, and you chose the perfect pictures to go with it. Well done, it is probably one of my favourite version of the song. Thank you.

  • beautiful vocals

  • Where was Enya?

  • @lexy1002 unless i'm wrong in this assumption, i do believe that Enya has done the background music to the song.

  • Beautiful pictures to go with a beautiful song!

  • so Beauty

  • njacoway yr a tool

  • You cried listening to this? Give me a break. I enjoy this 'type' of music. But these lyrics were written by yoda.

  • @njacoway how bout you be nice! jerkkfacee >.<

  • @njacoway There is a difference between enjoying music and appreciating it to the fullness it deserves, until then you are no different from a bieber fan

  • @AgroDuckDespenser excellently said!

  • @njacoway 'these lyrics were written by yoda'

Hmm - the 'rose' verse is maybe weak, but if you cannot respond to the poetry in the 'ship' verse, then the lack is with you, not the lyrics.

A ship there is, And she sails the sea,

She's loaded deep, As deep can be,

But not so deep, As the love I'm in,

I know not if, I sink or swim.

  • @njacoway call me facetious but if it were written by Yoda...wouldn't it be called "Wide the water is"?

  • Yes this is definitely different from the original

  • This is extremely beautiful. But the lyrics are different from the original.

  • search "Jackie McCracken the water is wide" and wait for the 2nd song!

  • i cried listening to this

  • @thecrazytshirt this is charlotte church have this cd

  • Anyone know where you can download the sheetmusic?

  • charlotte church singing it is much better than this

  • Chills...

  • We have to sing this for grade 7 choir'

  • Back when she sang well....

  • Edd what a Legend!

  • My school is singing this song ... it's so beautiful! We have 2 voices, together its wonderful! I love this song so much!

  • Pureness and Happiness...

  • This is one of the most beautiful arrangements of this song I have ever heard in my lifetime! I feel so blessed to just be able to hear it

  • its so lovely how nature accessorize the world.. and great music to sleep to.. -.-

  • Absolutely stunning, visually and vocally.

I've heard Cliff Richard sing this, and as much as I love him, this was aeons better.

  • which part is by enya?

  • @durfreiden shes probably playing an instrument in the background or something

  • @durfreiden i'm wondering about that too.

  • It is a great pleasure to hear such a supreme and measured gift. Charlotte's singing here is among the best of the best of singers I have heard. Great work that will stand the test of time.

  • Choir singing this sonnng D;

  • nice one. but this is not enya nor charlotte church. the artist name is "Chloe"

  • @reggieclash It is quite obviously Charlotte Church, as can be evidenced by the bar under the description bar which urges you to buy the song

  • @reggieclash This is definetly Charlotte Church i'd know her voice anywhere! as for an artist named chloe? never heard of her but this is defo charlotte!!

  • @bleedinglove860790 I think they mean Chloe Agnew? YOUVE NEVER HEARD OF CHLOE AGNEW?!?!!?!?!?!

  • @stophatinlol135 no, is that bad?

  • @bleedinglove860790 not teribbley bad but yes bad

  • @stophatinlol135 oh im so embarassed im going to look her up immediately!!!!

  • @stophatinlol135 : Isn't her name Chloe Abbott?

  • @ghb61 umm i think so cuz i think she got married. i still call her Chloe Agnew. shes from Celtic Woman

  • I never heard this song before, I tried to hear Enya but I couldn't hfear her, still I love Charlotte's voice :) so peaceful

  • @Imforeverone88 but charlotte has both vocal ability and musical talent!! it takes a talented singer to hit those notes, sing with emotion, and not lose control of your voice! you wouldnt really know how truely difficult it is unless you have tried it!

  • @abbyownzemos Actually, I am a singer so I do understand the difficulty of a high note if you strain for it. If high notes are in your natural range, you just need to relax and refine your technique to hit them without thinking.

  • I wish I can sing like that

  • @MrBooboo212 I like this thought provocative comment- it makes a distinction between vocal ability and musical talent which is real. Fantasia may be able to scream a stronger note than Whitney Houston, but Whitney's control of her voice makes classics like "Where do Broken Hearts Go", and "I Will Always Love You" possible.

  • @Imforeverone88 but charlotte has both vocal ability and musical talent!! it takes a talented singer to hit those notes, sing with emotion, and not lose control of your voice! you wouldnt really know how truely difficult it is unless you have tried it!

  • theres no enya in this

  • @ECLIPSEOFMYMIND1 i think enya arranged the music!

  • @bleedinglove860790 very cool --i was poking around to find out if she has recording capability in her castle --probably ---thanx for the info ---peace

  • 1AMgratefu11 4this connection <3 LOVE and LIGHT <3

  • Hands down one of the prettiest voices i have ever heard ^^

  • Beutiful

  • I hear Charlotte Church, but not Enya. This is far higher than Enya's range.

  • A wonderful emotional vacation; soothing sights & sounds. THANK YOU!

  • I think Enya is a person....

    yup I have her cds

  • This is lovely, and the words sound more authentic than most modern versions. It's very sad, but very beautiful. Thanks for posting.

  • where's enya???

  • so touching...

  • this song is so beautiful!i love it!

  • No se porque ponen Enya, no es composicion de ella ni nada tiene que ver aqui.

Esta cancion es una cancion celta, y todo lo celta no tiene porque ser de Enya..

A mi me encanta Enya, pero aqui no tiene nada que ver ella.

  • some classes in my school r singing this song

    for rememberance day at school

  • Linda voz, linda música e imagens Lindas! Explêndido!

  • Semplicemente splendido!

  • Charllete was only 10 when she first recorded this

  • best version of this song ever!!.. her voice is sooo pure i love it :)

  • lovely!!!

  • Could you please correct the title so that it does not mention Enya? She is not involved in this at all.

  • Comment removed

  • I think edthewizard must be refering to the peaceful scenery but there's no reference to there ever being any place called Enya not even in Mythology or Folklore. Must be his own interpritation on the clip.

  • @defenderization I think he means the Celtic singer Enya.. she must have done the arrangement

  • good good

  • I love this song but her voice goes through me! Trying far too hard, EEK! Eva Cassidy is much better, check it out and prepare to fall in love with the song all over again. : )

  • Absolutely not, Eva has a pleasant voice but is not in the same league as Charlotte

  • i agree, she does sound a bit breath-y...but as it goes on, she improves a bit.

  • Eva Cassidy was a Jazz & Blues singer. Charlotte sings classical.

  • I Love its lovely and i love it!!

  • We have to sing this song in front of some people in denver,,

  • Enya does not sing nor play instruments here.

  • Its not "loaded deep" its "laden deep"

  • This is SO beautiful!!!

  • beautiful x

  • So beautiful man, so beautiful, thanx for uploading... damn beautiful

  • is enya doing the instrumentals? I, too, wish it was a duet cuz Enya has the loveliest voice

  • I just love the lyrics with the video. I had to sing this in 5th grade in music class.

  • this is gorgeous

  • i love this song i have to say that this is my fav version of the song

  • Just wonderful, wonderful pictures i love it!!!

  • I spent the last half hour listening to various artists singing this song. The is the rendition I was looking for. Thank you.

  • I love this video so, so much. Great job, though I wish you didn't put Enya's name in it! This is Charlotte only.

  • I agree that the video work on this is amazing, especially at 2:45 with the word cold being sung. I really feel cold right there. It seems like at 1:30 a different, stronger, clearer voice takes over. Could that be Enya?

  • Wow I love this song. We did this in chorus in high school, it was the same as this except for the second stanza was different ..instead of being about love growing and blossoming, it went:

i leaned my back against an oak

i thought it was a trusty tree

but first it bent, and then it broke

and so my false love, did unto me

  • uh.........where is Enya?

  • Extremely beautifull video! I love the font too :D.

  • I thought Enya sings too. Or is it just the musicians? :S

  • for anyone looking to learn Irish madcow15792 has great beginner videos that cover basics :) really well.

  • ahw this song is really something! <3 ;D
