This camera was set up with a motion detection system to automatically take pictures of the birds as they visit the feeder. Normally, I weed-out the bad pictures and keep the nice ones for the website, but in this case I made the whole day's collection into a time lapse just for fun. It could be a useful research tool as well, but this was just for kicks :-)
Great job. Did you have a purpose in doing this (for example determining times and frequency of visits) or was it more to try out the technology. (or just a whimsy :) )
Yup - I just clipped some paper over the other 3 "flower" ports. I need to try some other feeder designs, like the "pan" type that doesn't have an overhead bottle (they don't leak so much, either!)
The "Robo-Cam" takes 400-800 Hummingbird photos per day - most are junk and get deleted after I save any good ones. This time I saved all the junk images and made a time lapse for fun. Just tryin' new things! :-)
The sweet little things need a lot of sweet!

OMG like they aren't quick enough! I was ready to switch to decaf for a minute there.
It's fun to see another side of these lovely creatures. If Technician isn't available, Benny Hill music would be perfect =]

That's funny XD I just watched a time lapse video with a guy clearing snow off of his backyard deck to that Benny Hill music!

Love the presentation.
Was it research oriented (time, frequency of visits for example)? Or to try out the technology? Or perhaps whimsy?

That is pretty dang cool! Did you block off the other feeder ports to encourage them to use the one port? Very creative idea!
