When my budgie first layed eggs all of them werent tame, even though we did hold them. Can you please explain what you did to tame him. Most parakeet babies that I know end up looking like their mom. My parakeet Jalen (she looks exactly like Felfel), laid four eggs and one of them just hatched. The rest are infertile. (Exact same outcome here.) I bet her baby will look exactly like Asal.

That was precious. I'd never seen Budgie babies before and didn't realize both parents raise the babies. Funny to see him playing on the carpet reminded me of my trio of hoodlums I had years ago. I miss their antics! Thank you for posting the series.

My two parakeets just had a clutch and only one hatched. It's now 7 weeks old and full grown! She started walking around more at 4 weeks. But they also didn't have a real nest so the little one was always all over the bottom of the cage. She's a beautiful white bird.

Well, the main reason is that it gives space for the chick to survive under the mothers wieght, otherwise, the chick will be crushed by mothers weight and either die or grow up with severe disfigurement.

i think that the other eggs are unfertilized thats why they didn't hatch, one way to find out if your eggs are fertilized is put the egg to a light, and if its clear, no black spots its unfertilized so just throw it away, and if theres black or a dark color its fertilized , and it works for me

its rare for the baby to be yellow....Green is usually always the most dominant colour...and 95% of the time the baby will be green.

but only if one of the parents is green
