I felt the same! I just want a regular one without all the musical crap, but then I thought well maybe ill just see the review on it. So which is better the original or this music related one?
@TheOverMay My main complaint with the music one is that your creature isn't the main focus on the screen, as it shares the screen with their toy and instrument. The music related games and what not I actually came to really like! This version adds a lot of replayability just due to the purchasable instruments, items, and other toys / things. I'd say if you're a die hard fan or something probably go with the newest original version you can find, but if you don't care, pick this one up! It's fun!
@TheOverMay To answer your question more concisely, I felt the exact same way, and it really grew on me over time, in fact almost day 1. I'd say if you're looking to get one, just get whatever kind you can get and you'll have fun no matter what. :)
@Kalhalla yeah i play with my until i get 2 gen but i leave it because of the work and school..but recently i buy a tamagotchi nano for my girlfriend and now i have a 3 gen in my tama its so addictive nice to see that other guys enjoy this little gadgets
@lucamibel Anything that beeps and levels up man, anything that beeps and levels up. I'm also infatuated with AI, virtual pets of any sort (Black & White 1 FOR LIFE), and Real-Time videogames and film. Just some relevant interests of mine. You know a little trick for working and school? Flip the AM and PM on your pet, so it comes awake right around when you get home. Then you can play with it in the evening/night, wake up, take care o the poops and medicine, and it will go to sleep for your work

@lucamibel If you are genetically predisposed to be tolerant of them, they are extremely, extremely, addicting. :)
