  • . . . . .

  • prevosxodnoooooooooooooooooooo

  • on jest fenomenalny!!!

  • second theme would melt the heart of a stone! truly incomparable...

  • Certified Intergalactic! The violin at the hands of Vengerov becomes a sonar gun.

  • I've never known a violinist to make playing such an awesome event as Maxim Vengerov. Fantastic.

  • Please play like this all the time Maxim. You sound genuine here and like the great artist that you really are!!!

  • bezpodobnooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Genius!!!

  • Vengerov is amazing!!

  • well done! This varations are extremely hard!

  • Hugely talented violinist. Maxim sometimes mistakes his violin for a Howitzer, though.

  • check out the grunt at 7:57-7:58!!!

  • I like Maxim a lot. But, I think Bell played this piece better. Plus, he didn't need to cheat with the pizzicatos near the beggining :P

  • what piece is that?

  • @claudiacloclo2 Variations on an Original theme Op.15

  • thank you for sharing !!!

  • I am so addicted to Maxim Vengerov's playing... once you go Maxim, you can never go back! I used to listen to Joshua Bell and now I can't even look at his CDs. :P

  • @SquimpyLove they both have their pros and cons as violinists and musicians

  • Left hand pizzacato PLUS chords in one bow? You aren't human, Maxim.

  • @Mecinimi It's not like Wieniawski wrote it like that or anything.

  • I love Maxim

  • The pianist is incredible good.

    Vengerov - no comment

  • The magic starts at 3:32, what follows is pure genius. Words cannot describe such virtuosity!

  • How does he do that bit at 5:07?? Wow he is truly amazing

  • @SnickersBar95 well he starts with up bow staccato sliding down the finger board then it is just left hand pizz where you pluck the string with your left hand using the finger that you used to play the last note. there is also some bowed notes like in round of the goblins and in paganini caprice 24 i think..

  • Actually the Wieniawskian "signature" staccato written in the orginal score is too crazy for anyone beside wieniawski himself to play so Maxim simply "cheat" it with pizz.

  • Outstanding !

  • Lord is giving you great talent. Play for Him - He will bless you more. GOD BLESS YOU MAXIM.

  • Certified Intergalactic! First time to hear this. I'm beyond words!

  • starts at 2:26

  • why do i find myself listen to this all the time?

    maxim + wieniawski = unbeatable!

  • heifetz + wieniawski beat it before they started. bam. lol

  • frankly i prefer vengerov + wieniawski but that's just my personal taste. :)

  • @pyroticmaniac too bad heifetz didnt recorded this...

  • bravo

  • fantastic talent

  • Henryk Wieniawski....

  • no words to say....

  • does any one know where i can get the sheet music for this?

  • I think he was born in another planet!!!

  • Oh Maxim, you are capable to melt any human heart,

  • He says the name: Original Theme and Variations. I don't remember right now the opus, sorry.

  • Opus 15

  • Wienawski-variation on original theme op. 15

  • reminds me alot of Saraste's ziguewisen, but this has some technique's that are rarely performed in concerts these days

  • you have to be in trans to play this =)

  • Heifetz

    Oistrakh

    Kogan

    Boris Goldstein

  • Kogan? Zukerman?

  • I dont understand why people always flame about violinists hopping around or interesting facial expressions. Who cares??! Music is art, which means that it is meant to elicit emotion. If an artist does that by hopping around then good for frickin him. It being art, and beauty being in the eye of the beholder, i suppose you all can flame if you want but ima pwn all u n00bs so shutup. whatever.

  • i like that, very eloquently written, especially the last part.

  • he is amazing

  • hey guys,

I need musicians and a conductor in the Los Angeles area, if interested or know of anyone, contact me.

    thanks!

  • come on, what is music for you?

tell me, what is not music about his playing?

he is playing winiawski dude, and probably played with the most famous conductors of our time... I guess he knows more about music than you could dream of!

  • I LOVE HIM, I have ben trying to find him since hearing him on radio ten years ago!!!!!

  • What a wonderful and crispy sound!

  • I Agree!!! The Greatest violinist on the World!!!! He are te insane, and awesome!

  • In case anyone's interested, the pianist is the wonderful British Ian Brown of Nash Ensemble among other things

  • 3:33 and that whole section could melt the heart of a stone

  • I agree, awesome emotion!!!

  • E I N F A C H F A N T A S T I S C H ! ! ! ! ! !

  • feel music..

  • why dont you all just shut up, music is for listening, not for watching.

  • I agree, his movements do seem a bit much, but the music is beautiful. I myself don't know how he is able to move so much and so heavily and still maintain such great tone...

  • best

  • i love how he plays, and the piece is absolutely beautiful :D.

  • search for yasha heifetz playing that..

  • Playing awesome, with great passion, music a bit circus-like silly

  • Vengerov likes to be "in the circus" too, but shit, it looks so cool for wieniawski´s style..!

  • stunning.

  • I love you,Vengerov!!

  • this makes me want to practice

  • I love Weiniawski with a passion.

  • i love how he screams on those octaves at around 4:40...watching this video gives me a newfound respect for Vengerov

  • amazing

  • ok , some people dont like his mimics but you all have to face that he's awesome.

me , i love his faces , i find them funny and inspiring , it feels like he's floating with the music

  • what is this piece???

  • No, he is not better than Heifetz.

  • Heifetz is 2nd best to this man on these kind of showpieces, but no-one will beat Heifetz's Brahms! No one ever!!!

  • Holy fucken shit, he's a virtuoso. I hate his mimics, though.

  • The sound of that violin!!!!! whoooa momma mia I want a strad!!!!

  • what a great talent. the modern day paganini?

  • muy bn

  • What a unique style! Bravo! Encore!

  • He just so great! Enjoyed it very much!

  • This is one of the most difficult pieces for violin

  • Dont be silly, its quite easy compared to a lot of stuff

  • Where there's less technique, theres more music.

  • This is an effect piece, much like any piece calculated to make women swoon with the intensity of passion. It's to show technical mastery, virtuostic prowess, and romantic elan. It is what it is. If you wanted Brahms, why come here and bitch ?

This is my first performance of Vengerov's which I love. Some people have compared him with Milstein, but there is nothing similar between the two.

I suggest you listen to Milstein performing the beethoven here.

  • What are you talking about?

  • You can't even remember what you said here, let alone to scroll down to view it.

You said, "Where there's less technique, theres more music". I'm calling you foolish for bothering to post that here: The Wieniawski is a showpiece. It is MEANT to be a display. If you wanted something else, just DO IT AND STOP complaining here. By the way, your performances lack romance, passion, and beauty. Slide into a few notes: sing like opera singer. If that's too risky, do some Sevick, Op.8, without thumb.

  • I can play rings around you. Tell me where you live and I'll make a contest. You'll lose, hands down.

Look, difficulty is relative. There are performers who play the most difficult Paganini, yet consider Wieniawski more difficult because they have everything except a down bow staccato.

Your statement is not true: some people consider the technique to perform Brahms and Tschaikovsky more difficult than Paganini; some believe Mozart harder than all of them, together.

    It's all relative, dude.

  • hey, is there anyway you could tag the pieces he plays in these videos? Thanks, itd help a lot!!!!!!! :)

He plays wonderfully though! I wish i couldve heard him live.

  • Bravo!!!!! bravo bravo!!!!

  • wow!!

    awesome!

  • I Agree...Virtuoso. Just Vengerov !!!

    The God gift!!!

  • WOW... a total virtuoso...

  • no one knows the violin like maxim.

    thank you!

  • Virtuoso Maxim!!!

  • Thanks so much

  • 5:05 is mad cool! the pizzicatos
