  • @DenaiMooreMusic How dare people only capitalize certain words of sentences.

  • Touches my heart. Plain and simple. Thanks John.

  • @DenaiMooreMusic HOW DARE hahaha

  • Every song written is pure poetry mixed with amazing melodies.... I cannot wait to finally go to the UK and see John Mayer live.

  • Hmmm I really think this could be about Jen Aniston

  • @d26s10 it's about Taylor Swift

  • @ClaireDuLune11 hmmm...can't say I agree with you, but who knows?!

  • @d26s10 Exactly. Who knows? Definitely no one who would be watching this video.

  • @oneofthefew100 Haha I like it!! Don't you know John is a keen youtuber? ;)

The thing I like most about his music is that you really have to delve in and analyse the lyrics and when you think they are saying something simple and obvious he reveals the true meaning/inspiration and your left thinking 'Damn your way with words and expression is exceptional!'

  • @ClaireDuLune11 I sincerely doubt that.

  • This sounds like "All we ever do is say goodbye"

  • @TheAngelJC No it doesn't.

  • @DenaiMooreMusic i was thinking the same thing! lol

  • There needs to be a LOVE IT button on this song!

  • "You know my paper heart, the one I feel with pencil marks. I think I might have gone and inked you in."

    In a world of indecisiveness...

He might have found someone permanent.

    Wow. That's deep

  • I think the Born and Raised album is a message from Mayer saying, "You know what, I'm happy with who I am, and I'm happy with my fans. So fuck the worlds opinion, I'm John Mayer, and my songs are for my fucking amazing fans."

  • Please edit eh subs and add the lyrics.

  • Anybody who doesn't appreciate good pop songwriting is either utterly ignorant or has a severely limited taste in music.

  • how cool would it be to do a full band cover and upload it to youtube before the original studio version comes out

  • finally a song where he ain't singing of separation...=D

  • I've realised that i fall in love with every single piece john plays/writes. I seriously and honestly do not NOT like ANY of his songs. How does he do that ?

  • @shireymw

that doesn't mean this is gonna be on his new album bro.

as an artist you can't just stop writing and preforming between albums, this is probably stuff he's writing and singing on the side while he's either pondering about his next album or while he's working on it.

so just chilll...and when his next album drops we'll see what happens.

  • john mayer..... is awesome. enough said.

  • @chaferbud

You should actually credit @jcapdesign for the audio, he has the original video. TheApartmentSessions just ripped it from him, much like his other videos. I love your page; I've found so many gems here, some new and some that I already had. But credit is due to the right source I think at least haha. Just a heads up. Thanks for everything else.

  • @shireymw GTFO

  • @shireymw Wow, get a grip dude.

  • @shireymw You are a monumental fucking idiot, for real.

  • @shireymw yeah you're right, who performs solo with VOCALS anyway.

You know how much of a fringe audience enjoys instrumental guitar music? Let alone by one single acoustic guitar?

    1. This is not the album version, you don't even know what that will sound like. This is solo acoustic for fuck's sake.

    2. You don't even know if this will be on the album

    3. Have you even heard the VH1 acoustic or Village sessions?

in short: premature conclusions are baaad.

  • Comment removed

  • @MelleB90 If you all you took away from that is that I don't like his acoustic stuff then you're an idiot. I listen to all of his albums including village sessions and the acoustic set on VH1. I'm just not a fan of this new direction, you don't have to agree with me.

    in short: eat a dick

  • @shireymw it really sounded like you gave up on him based on the fact that a rough cut of something that may or may not be on the album wasn't guitar-oriented enough.

    Never mind then, sorry.

And only if I can eat yours!

  • @shireymw

no one cares about your hero.

john does what he wants and is always writing music in different styles. not only is he an amazing guitarist but he's a fantastic lyricist as well.

  • It's a hit! John's back

  • It's honestly just product testing. This is all new stuff not to mention a return to his pre-Trio days. He's kinda just getting feedback. He's done it pretty much for each of his ablums. Just testing out his new ideas before he goes to big with any of them. Doesn't mean he's trading in the bigger venues for the cmall clubs.

  • @ssmookie13 *too big

  • Example (from last post)

Switchfoot were a pretty popular band; they had that one mandy moore movie and have 2 or 3 radio hits. then they releases two albums after that run and went from big shows to small venues that can only hold maybe 300 people tops. Sorry if you dont like my opinions but i just dont want that happening to JM because i like his music.

  • @CoIinsMusic He's been playing big venues since his first album. Don't worry haha.

  • Who gives a fuck

Even if you look at his pop stuff, there's some complexity behind that there isn't usually in the mainstream pop kinda music. Sure his pop stuff isn't as good as his blues and doesn't showcase his talent, but hell, those pop songs got him and his career going, and made got him a large fan base, and through those pop songs, he managed to introduce blues to people who wouldn't normally listen to it via the Trio. So lets justt stop arguing and enjoy!

  • @Jaystin024 he brings way more than blues to people, I got heavy into george harrison, tom petty, bob dylan and the rolling stones because of him.

  • this song gets better every f""""" time!

  • somehow i've listened to this song 3 times in a row....

oh john mayer, i love ya.

    thanks for posting this!

  • i guess it won't make it on the record as other tracks played before release such as 'over and over', 'taking on water' etc.

Anyway, nice track beside that I dig everything he came up with. I just love his music style, guitar work, vocals. But still, his records are nothing compared to live performances

  • I like it. Just hope it doesnt make him lose his pop fanbase. I know the trio was said to be "career suicide" and yet he came back with a kickass album (continuum) but the Trio project wasnt as long as what Battle Studios + This is. Too much time out of the Radio stream might be the true "career suicide"

    Just my two cents.

  • @CoIinsMusic He should lose that fucking pop fanbase. I would really love it if he just drops it and focusses on the Trio and "good music", like Eric Clapton, Jimi, SRV and King did. He could be a legend, but he isn't, thanks to those popradio songs he wrote. And why would he need a carreer? He is effin multimillionair!

  • @Vr0l1jk he's more of a songwriter then those guys

  • Comment removed

  • @Vr0l1jk nobody would know about John Mayer in the mainstream if he dropped all the "pop" stuff. I love his Trio. Heck, I love all of his music. The "pop" stuff is just to draw people's interest and then he hits them with the rest of his music. Watch his seminar at Berklee College where he plays part of the assassin acoustic version and you will see where he is coming from more when he chooses to release the songs that he does. And he already is a legend.

  • @Vr0l1jk Continuum is a Pop-ish album. Waiting on the World to Change, the single, is a Marvin Gaye style, which is pop. I love his blues stuff way more than the pop stuff. But Clarity, Daughters, etc are great songs. More importantly, theyre the songs thatll ensure we have him around for many years to come.

  • @CoIinsMusic dude, first of all continuum isnt pop-ish since you just listened to Waiting on the World To Change, try actually listening to the whole thing and its mostly blues, and the thing you called "career suicide", dang get your facts straight man, because of the John Mayer Trio Project, he instantly was redeemed as one of the best blues players out there.

    btw, its Battle STUDIES.

  • @aseriousoffender lol colinsmusic doesnt know what he's talking about at all

  • @jmeuw i swear that guy needs John Mayer 101.lmao

  • @aseriousoffender @jmeuw

Lol i know john mayer plenty well... if you went to my page youd see i have probably 100 obscure JM vids bookmarked. Ive even made a TBO Relic, you know, 9.5 inch fret radius, c shape neck contour, big dipper pickups, pearloid tuner heads, etc. Dont be so ignorant guys. and dont get butt hurt over my opinions. good lord...

Let me tell you guys, since your now insulting me and my intelligence, about why im saying this is career suicide.

  • @CoIinsMusic Battle Studios? Oh yeah. You're a massive fucking fan.

  • @misseltify lol its called a typo you troll. So am I not allowed to have my own opinion? Am I not allowed to say that his new music isnt IMO*** as good as his past stuff? Is it a crime if I think that this music isnt as "Radio Friendly" as his past stuff? I know one thing; I DONT FUCKING CARE IF ITS RADIO FRIENDLY OR NOT.

By the way, I said this stuff almost a year ago, get your head out of your ass and just listen to the music and stop gravedigging posts...

  • This is a nice song...

    !

  • :) Thanks for uploading! Favourited!

  • yeah the full version thank you :D:D
