  • Fit the situation perfectly

  • Come on, Mr. Thou!

Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou Thou

  • I remember... When I was younger, this song somehow scared me... I had to mute the tv to be able to play further. This song gave me nightmares.

  • @DarkMomoko :-D !

  • this one is #1

  • Oh, damn ... i remember this. Any music that starts with a lot of whipping wind noise chills me to the bone. When you travel forward in time in Ocarina, the beginning of Pink Floyd's "Meddle" album (got around the same time, hehe, which made it even creepier). But yah. This song really put the hopeless atmosphere in the game. Fucking brilliant composer for such a fucking brilliant game.

  • @limegreensquid Ruined World for Chrono Trigger is just like this one. Check that one out as well.

  • Captures hopelessness almost too perfectly

  • I find this even more atmospheric when you go back to Narshe for the first time. The music doesn't change and there's absolutely nobody (except the old man).

  • Desperation is acting while at the edge of Despair.

  • If you ever play an mmo, try playing this song while grinding or something in a really desolate territory like Plaguelands in WoW or almost any higher-end territory in Aion.

  • Atmospheric is right, this music is downright depressing. This would be the song of the end of mankind, hope is extinct.

  • The one thing I really fucking hated about FF6 was how easy Kefka was. He had a fucking Judgement Bolt that almost destroyed the world completely. I get up to him at his tower and I've defeated him in 5 minutes. I wasn't even overleveled if anything I was underleveled. I was hoping for a fight that would take me atleast 3+ tries. I mean every element was there. Kefka in god form, a huge-ass tower, he destroyed a world. I go up there and poke him and I won. WTFG SQ-E.

Ty this song it rules. :)

  • @WorldOfMagi You ought to give the Eviltype mod a try. It makes the game insanely difficult. I can barely get anywhere in it, and can only imagine how freaking tough Kefka must be.

  • @melosebrainuhoh Where can I get this mod? I've been wanting to pick this game up again but was looking for a challenge to add to it.

  • @xInfinityMinus1x Just do a google search for "Final Fantasy VI eviltype" and you should find it really quickly. I think if I post a direct link it'll get marked as spam.

  • This is why Final Fantasy 6 reigns over the others in the series. The world is gone and all that is left is bleakness. Cue the acquisition of Darill's Falcon and the music becomes one that gives you hope that things can be made right again.

  • this just sucks the happyness out of everything for me

  • @left4deadsparta23 I would listen to this song when i felt in despair because that is what it is:despair blackness.

  • i remember this part of the game soo vivdly, all the mobs looked like zombies. ff6 was an amazing game.

  • I almost wish they'd kept this song after you get your transportation and used Searching for Friends as just the ship theme. But I guess the switch kind of makes sense, being that hope is restored?

  • dark world is somewhat misleading, at first it thought he was talking about a link to the past. if i had made the video i would have used it's colloquial (or official) name of the World of Ruin. but that's just me. good pick dude.

  • This music is the perfect music for how i feel now.

    Helpless hopeless.

  • You should turn your sadness into destruction.

  • Hmm i don't think that's a good idea.

That would take a new whole level of bad.

  • Then what are you going to do? Just sulk in misery as you watch your paradise burn? I, too, am depressed, but I have a goal, and a plan to accomplish it. To chisel my desired future into our history set in stone.

  • i'm over it now.

somehow listening to queen nullified its effect on me and other songs for the time being and gave me hope.

Its amazing how 1 song can bring your spirits up.

  • I also found some hope,i have some ideas of stuff.

    I am working on it

  • @LRangerR

The song itself is called 'Dark World' so naming it 'World of Ruin' would be misleading. This game stomps Zelda anyways so who cares?

  • @WorldOfMagi

I had no idea it was called Dark World honestly. But as far as it being better than zelda, the two games are entirely different. It would be like comparing french toast to scrambled eggs, it's just not fair, lol.

  • @LRangerR i hate how everyone says "they're completely different games" so what? the overall gameplay, mapping and music is 12x better than zelda

  • I think this theme gives a similar sense of desolation when compared to the overworld theme in 2300 AD in Chrono Trigger. They both have the blowing wind theme and a very depressing melody.

  • /agreed. First time I was in 2300 AD in CT, I was definitely affected by it, and the music played a large part in creating the atmosphere

  • its like sealed door theme.

    Its total helplessness.

  • Yeah

  • @drunyon214 exactly

  • I love the descriptions you add with the video

  • He does go in depth and makes it very interesting to think about.

  • Me too.

I was they were more perverted though..
