Yasser Said arranged a marriage for Amina to an Egyptian man who was over 40 and she ran away to avoid that marriage. Her father's honor was damaged and so he killed her.

Women are considered men's property in Muslim majority countries, a view perpetuated by Qu'ranic verses saying a woman's testimony is only worth half of a man's, that women are mentally deficient, that wive's are men's tilth and they may cultivate them as they please.

No, they don't have that right. American state and federal laws forbid Shariah sanctioned honor killings of innocent girls by their fathers with stiff penalties. In Jordan, men arrested for murdering their daughters get six months in jail and that's it. So it really depends on where you live as to what your "rights" are. Too bad these girls didn't have the right to "deal with it their own way."
