  • these transmissions suck, the AODE&470rw. my 1994 ford crown vic transmission went around 96,457 miles.i have tried everything while it started slowly acting up over time.these transmissions are just plain weak!!! there not tough like it cousin the "AOD"

  • RIP grand marquis you are missed

  • What happend to the grand marquis?

  • Did you ever fix this? I'm sure someone might appreciate any insight on your experience with this problem.

  • @clutterking Yes I ended up changing the transmission. I have videos of that as well.

  • Maybe the throttle position sensor?

  • My 1999 F-150 had a 4R70W

  • the transmission kick down cable could be stuck so that could be y its staying in first gear I had the same problem in my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee

  • here's a suggestion ... buy a HONDA!!!!! lol hahahaha jk good luck with the prob man!!!

  • fuckin jap scrap dude

  • its not about owning a nice car, its about owning a older car, like anything that gets old, things will fail, and malfunction, i suggest scanning the car for a bad CPU code, or checking the fluid, for the classic brown color and burnt smell, if the fluid looks good, then its something electronic possibly, maybe a loose electronic connection, and all this shitty rain we've been getting has caused a malfunction on the loose connection? its all worth a try,and good luck with it,also check fluid level

  • check the fluid

  • needs a tach hehe

  • damn electronics... I'm glad I got the regular AOD with kick-down cable in my 88 Lincoln ^-^

  • @JakeDaSnakeFilms yep it could be electronics, that's why i hate them so much, and my 4bbl carb on my '71 302w and non-CPU upgraded AOD should never let me down! :) Old school is the best school of all,

  • check the fluid to see if it has a burnt smell check with diagnositc tool scanner and see if tranny gives you any codes

  • Thanks for info will replace my solenoid and fluid might help mine as well.

  • sounds like a vaccum line...our wagoneer had the same problem nd the vaccum line had a hold in it

  • Welcome to my world buddy! lol except with manual trannys.

  • poor marquis looks pretty good !
