I love this stuff! I'll be keeping my eye on Bernie's exploits.
I am a 65 year old roadie (bicycle) who rides with guys the age of pitbikeguy237and younger who are training to race. It sometimes takes a while for them to understand what a challenge is and how to meet it.
this was a great time, to be able to be a part of this stunt it was not easy in the least bit there was alot of prep work that went into it but man we did it i was there seen it live it whats travis got on this lol all i can say is that bernie and john you know i will help in the next one if you need me
This flight was a proof of concept for more ambitious flights we have planned. The winds carried the balloon and Bernie considerably off course from the airport where our cameras were on the ground ready to capture his landing, the chute disconnect and the final ride. Bernie landed in a cornfield (his only safe choice at the time). These weather and geographical problems have now been eliminated so our next jump will not have these challenges. John P. Lauri, JLauri Filmworks, Warren Michigan
@cohaagendesu I assure you that Bernie IS Welsh. If you just spent 30 seconds with this gentleman you'd have no doubt. I've spoken to his family in Cardiff and they are very proud of him and what we are planning to do next. John P. Lauri, J. Lauri Filmworks, Stage 3 Studios, Warren, Michigan.
I can assure you Bernie was born in Cardiff, Wales. His family still live here.
His veins are full of Welsh blood (or Brains beer). You can take the boy out of Wales but not Wales out of the boy! . . . . . . . . . from his neice Christine Williams
Major props for this guy doing it, especially at his age. But to be perfectly honest, I see nothing worth a world record. So he strapped a bike with him in a parachute... so? You could do the same with a cow, a camel or a parakeet. It's just dropping and landing on the ground.
JMO, not trying to take away from it too much as it was uber cool. But.... eh.
@pitbikeguy237 This flight is actually a proof of concept for much more ambitious plans we've scheduled for this year. I assure you this flight was far more complicated and dangerous than it appears. The balloon is carried by unpredictable winds and Bernie must steer the parachute and bike to a safe landing area while avoiding power lines, houses, traffic, buildings, etc. There's barely a chance to recover from the first 1000 ft should something go wrong. John P. Lauri, J. Lauri Filmworks
25 years? This is something you plan on Friday, get the stuff on Saturday, and do on Sunday. Easy-Peasy.

You should hit the ground riding, quickly disconnect the parachute, then ride into a jump.
Otherwise it's a bit pointless.
