In order to squeeze if you hit the pedal at the same time as the crash hit on an Overdrive Fill you MIGHT get an extra hit from an extra bass hit thus giving you more points.

It's actually a buzz roll, without a true subdivision. I guess Harmonix just chose 8th notes arbitrarily instead of expecting you to be able to perform a buzz roll on their kits. Good call, in my opinion.

There's not much you can do about the lag on your monitor. What you can do is go to Radio Shack and get a splitter/Y-adapter for your RCA cables (the red/yellow/white ones) and send the output from your 360 to both your computer and your TV. An A/V box would work as well, as long as it has at least 2 outputs.
