I haven't a desire for any religion, but this is a very spiritual piece that can speak to anyone without a guilt of religion. I find that these men sing to a level of communication that reaches to the spirit without dogma, and pure joy of the spirit that is each of us. I wish to be enveloped by this sound and touch forever. With this, my spirit transcends all religions to a whole new level of clarity and spirituality.
Actually, the poet, John Henry Cardinal Newman was an Anglican first who later converted to Roman Catholicism and who will be soon canonized a Saint. Pope Benedict XVI declared him blessed, ( the step before Sainthood in the RC church) just last week in England.
The words of this hymn were written by Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman who was a Catholic who converted from the Church of England. I believe this was written in his Anglican period. He was beatified by the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI today (September 19, 20010) in Birmingham, England. He is therefore one step from being declared a Saint by the Church.
Very beautiful and inspiring. Thanks for posting it.

Meravigliosa. Complimenti.
Una musica che va dritto al cuore.
Che Dio benedica (se fosse possibile ancora di più) J. H. Newman e J. B. Dykes per questo splendido dono.
