Yes this was written specifically for The Exterminator and sung over the closing credits, but not this version. During a tour of Ireland in 2000, I was with Chip after one of his shows and told him how I'd always loved this song but had never been able to find a copy. It seemed that he'd almost forgotten it but this reminder prompted him to include this version (with slightly altered lyrics), on his 2001 "Black and Blue America" album. I have the Video & DVD but was an OST album released?
Did they record the song specifically for the film? It did end with him alighting on Bedloe Island at the end of the film, and one of this fellow veterans does end up as a quadrapalegic.
I can see Georgie in the background. Damn cancer wars.
