@leogets2006 I don't understand. This has every button a regular controller has (two sticks/pads, four face buttons, four shoulder buttons and a D-pad), with the addition of the screen. The screen could add six more buttons just on the outer edge of the screen even though it probably wouldn't be practical. People refuse to accept that this adds a new dimension to controlling a game. It's not a gimmick, if devs attempt to use this right, we will see the future of gaming.

@zzyzx0788 You should really see the new dev-kits. Demos are coming at next e3. There is a big list of upcoming third party titles and nintendo is developing an enormous lineup of games. And the online functions. We actuallu could expect steam in it.

I really believe in wii U, the controller, the specs and launch time seem perfect. Most likely get a 1.5 - 2 year head start, during that time they will have best specs. When PS/XBOX launch their expensive new consoles nintendo will be in a position to go much cheaper. Competition will then need 2 more yrs to get titles that take advantage of tech and reach massmarket price. Then nintendo will almost be rdy with wiiU 2. Genious.

The mixed reign of sony and microsoft for FIFA 13 and beyond, Madden HD, COD, Battle Field and other multiplatorm games is officially over. Why would you need an xbox720 or ps4, when the Wii U shall have final fantasy 16, Ninja gaiden 3, GTA 5 together with Mario, Samus and Link :)
My only hope is that 3rd party developers actually TRY to make good games with Wii U. That was the main problem with Wii, developers just didn't try. The good games we got were good because effort was put into it.

They think the Wii doesn't have good games at all, it does and those titles show off the systems capabilities in terms of presentation, innovation and gameplay. It's just they need to look hard enough. I agree that the Wii did not really deliver what Nintendo claimed, the 3rd party games ruined it and it's more geared towards casual gamers, but the system finally got it's spotlight back in E3 2010.
I would love to see wii u with an adventure game like Phoenix Wright where you could walk around the room on the main screen and manipulate objects with the handheld video controller
The 3DS had a rough start, but eventually became one of the best selling video game consoles of 2011. It made a huge recovery and put Nintendo back on top. It is also doing much better than the PS Vita was.
I can also assure you, this console will be a great one! (With a lot of 3rd party support as well)

@standerd101 It's not going to be better than the 720 or PS4 in terms of graphics and technology, reason being Sony and Microsoft are going to put in newer CPUs and GPUs. Even if they are only a year newer, the rate tech is advancing, they will be much better.
Also, Sony never stole anything from Nintendo, don't even say Move. Search for the Move project, and you will see Sony started the project for PS2 back in 1999. The showed the prototype in 2000.

@leogets2006 I don't understand. This has every button a regular controller has (two sticks/pads, four face buttons, four shoulder buttons and a D-pad), with the addition of the screen. The screen could add six more buttons just on the outer edge of the screen even though it probably wouldn't be practical. People refuse to accept that this adds a new dimension to controlling a game. It's not a gimmick, if devs attempt to use this right, we will see the future of gaming.

@TwoSkoopsOfNinja nahi needs a regular pad mate. no one wants a controll pad the size of a dinner plate thats flat and aches ya fingers holding after a while. end of the day with all these new ideas coming out for controllers u still cant beat the old proper controller method. touch screen gaming sucks,kinect and move suck.so will this. nintendo just need to concentrate on a powerfull console with no gimmicky add ons.

don't kick me or nothin but i actually have more games i like on the wii than the 360. mario galaxy 1 and 2, trauma team, 4 really good railgun shooters (house of the dead: overkill being my favorite), the rehash of 'boy and his blob', xenoblade chronicles, super paper mario, donkey kong country....
i'm lookin forward to wii u but honestly i'm probably gonna just stay with the original for a few more years. oh and point-n-click adventures work phenomenal on the wii as well.

Fallout 3 , Mass Effect , GTA4 , Bioshock , Command And Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars , Gears Of War , Halo , Call Of Duty , Skyrim, I only liked Mario Galaxy 2 , Twilight Princess and thats it . No More Heroes wasn't that good , it's sequel was better tho and most ''good'' wii games were only good for the system because the rest sucked and were casual games . Even core games were outclassed

I really believe in wii U, the controller, the specs and launch time seem perfect. Most likely get a 1.5 - 2 year head start, during that time they will have best specs. When PS/XBOX launch their expensive new consoles nintendo will be in a position to go much cheaper. Competition will then need 2 more yrs to get titles that take advantage of tech and reach massmarket price. Then nintendo will almost be rdy with wiiU 2. Genious.

hmm i think what captured the casual was the fact that the wii was "simple" for lack of a better word. now they are going to appeal to the hardcore again. i grew up with nintendo but i am still undecided if i want this system. i feel like it's too late for consumers who have a ps3/xbox to care about 3rd party support as a selling point. i still feel like nintendo needs new ip's. i've saved the princess enough.

This is the first time ive not been excited for a new nintendo console. I just think nintendo have shot themselves in the foot once again. Everyones drooling over the visuals in that zelda demo but it looks no better than uncharted 3 or some other games on current generation consoles. Im not saying graphics make games, but i just know when the 720 and ps4 are released, we'll see fewer and fewer developers working on wii u...and i dont think it will be the peoples choice either

My only hope is that 3rd party developers actually TRY to make good games with Wii U. That was the main problem with Wii, developers just didn't try. The good games we got were good because effort was put into it.

@smashfanwii That's true, and this is the reason why fanboys hate the system so much. They think the Wii doesn't have good games at all, it does and those titles show off the systems capabilities in terms of presentation, innovation and gameplay. It's just they need to look hard enough. I agree that the Wii did not really deliver what Nintendo claimed, the 3rd party games ruined it and it's more geared towards casual gamers, but the system finally got it's spotlight back in E3 2010.

The sales actually weren't that bad. (In 2011)
The 3DS had a rough start, but eventually became one of the best selling video game consoles of 2011. It made a huge recovery and put Nintendo back on top. It is also doing much better than the PS Vita was.
I can also assure you, this console will be a great one! (With a lot of 3rd party support as well)

@standerd101 It's not going to be better than the 720 or PS4 in terms of graphics and technology, reason being Sony and Microsoft are going to put in newer CPUs and GPUs. Even if they are only a year newer, the rate tech is advancing, they will be much better.
Also, Sony never stole anything from Nintendo, don't even say Move. Search for the Move project, and you will see Sony started the project for PS2 back in 1999. The showed the prototype in 2000.
