I love my Maxima Haters can hate but 3.5 L v6 260 hp for a sedan :p yeah and considering every other sedan in its class is 40 grand more ya kiss my ass lol
in 97 with 35,000 miles..Today it has 296,000...other than replaces brakes(front rotors),battery and tires,..I've had only 1 starter,1 radiator,1 alternator,1 water pump and replaced drive axles 2x,.
oil and tranny fluid changes kept it rollin..
In the market for an 04-07 right now..if the price is right
I love the new cvt. but I want it in the 08 Maxi. My only concern is it sounds very loud, not the tranny the engine. someone who actually owns a cvt please let me know if there are really this loud, or am I just crazy
This car gets hated on so much, I don't know why. The Maxima has always been the sedan in it's segment with the most sport and performance. It deserves more respect that it gets.
fringentintime-I agree with you.i am not a japan car fan at all.but i have been driving a 2004 Maxima SL for the past few months this thing drives amazing.very fast for a V6.i love everything about it except that everywhere i go someone has the same car.
what most people don't know is that. If you have a suped up maxi, and you pull up to a civic, they think you never catch up, but surprisingly you do. 3.5 liter powerplants on those baby's. MAXIMA FOR LIFE
I got a 2008 Maxima SL, I love it. Best car in its class, and we got it for $7,000 off MSRP so it was the same price as an Altima or an Accord but much nicer.
I mean fully loaded except for CD changer. $1000 for a CD Changer just wasn't worth it lol. But the changer is in the trunk not in-dash so I could always add one if I see the need to do so

7th generation Maxima is the only way to go!

I'm not going to hate on the 6th gen Maxima, but I passed until the 7th generation.
I traded in my Icelandic Pearl 2000 SE for the Super Black 2010 SV with both sport and premium package features.
I guess that officially makes me an enthusiast.
When it's paid for, I'll probably get a Z, but still have teens living at home, so needed 4-door.

Why did they say "next gen" when it was just a mid-model refresh?
correctmugshot 3 years ago

fat body... i dont lik this one personally i think the 02-03 is the nicest
lowell123 5 years ago
i agree. i like the look of the 02-03 but like some of the features of the 07 model =P
skylinedl69 5 years ago
well, the 02-03 body is actually the 5th gen maxima which started production in 2000.
The 02-03 body is the same as the 00-01 body and can therefore be called the 5th generation maxima body (2000-2003).
Just clearing things up :)
Btw... I agree
IRAQ2008 4 years ago
I actually prefer the 5.1 generation 2000-2001 as opposed to the 5.2 2002-2003

ya, I gotta say I do too. I have an '01 Maxima SE 20th Anniversary Edition fully loaded :)

umm slight error on your statement
the 00-01 is the 5th gen and the 02-03 is the 5.5.
