  • This was one of my wife and my favorite songs went we first met and started our life together back in 1983 - The other was Juice Newton's The Sweetest Thing

  • i loved charlie Mcclain and wish she had stayed country longer. This is one of the best love songs ever recorded. She also did duets with my favorite male singer Mickey Gilley. She was a great country artist.

  • some things in this life you just miss so much it hurts. I miss my ole army buddies, and have fond memories of so much and sometimes life can just wear you out, but I honestly miss Charly as much as anything that ever came my way. She was just a girl singing songs I know, but on a sunny day, Charly singing a song with the most touching voice that ever graced the surface of the earth, and burdens just melt away. She's just a very special lady there will never be another like her.

  • I dedicate this song to the man of my dreams who has just made me very happy, and

    he knows who he is..........

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • one of my Favs by Charly... always loved her voice... she was GOOD. Does she perform anymore? I know Mickey Gilley does of course, in Branson. Haven't seen or heard anything about her in years...

  • Hey Frank Di Nunzio, do you have a place on siesta key, Fl.? I think I've been to your place if this is the same guy. :-) Yea she was the best in her day!

    Craig at the wicker store.....

  • Hit #5 in Billboard, 3-20-82. She's 1 of 'the very best' singers, right, gang? God bless!

  • i wonder what ever happened to charly...i thought she was great my band opened for her a couple of times she was a great talent

    frank di nunzio

    hershey,pa.

  • I wore this album out listening to it...

  • She puts 95% of today's female singers to shame.....

  • @jajvick you got that right, her voice matches her appearance, very oretty in both aspects

  • @jajvick you got that right, she has the voice to match her appearance, the looks and voice of an angel...I miss her on radio

  • she has a sweet voice, what has happened to her

  • she has a sweet voice, what has happened to her

  • Good Lord! I just read what I wrote earlier and I can't believe I misspelled so many words. Yikes! I guess you read "gibberish". LOL Anyway, you have a good point. I always thought it was one of Charly's best songs... back when "country music" was still country. I'll talk to Frank in the next few days and I'll ask him on what chart it rose to number 4. Now I'm curious to know for sure. If' I find out any different I'll let you know.

  • Love the atist and the song, but I think it actuallt went to #4 on the charts. Just asked by friend Frank Stephens who was the song writer and he said # 4 too. Might want to doublw check that one.

  • @hoserdown

I use the "Hot Country Songs" book by Joel Whitburn, which is a Billboard chart book, and it says #5. It may have reached #4 on another chart like Radio & Records or Cashbox.

  • @KSMusicGeeks It wasn't uncommon back in the day for a song that went to #5 in Billboard to be #2 in Radio & Records, or #1 in Cashbox, but yet another chart may have it at #10 or #12. Billboard has the most credibility.

  • this is the picture I saw of her when I was a kid. Instant crush. Man I have good taste.

  • I have always loved her. Why doesn't she come out of retirement. I would go ad see her. We all miss you.

  • Man, I sure do miss hearing her sing. Charly McClain really could put a lot of other female country singers to shame with her real talent.

  • That's why she is still my all time favorite female singer. No other female country singers can come close to her talent.

  • ditto, I could never get tired of hearing her sing.
