  • he reminds me of Keller from the tv show OZ...

  • Rollins is a big mouth pussy ass bitch who made shitty music as best in the 90's. And was a MTV whore.

  • @TheBigfatshady say that to his face though.

  • xD this is the big ass nazi from sons of anarchy? xD he looks so... tiny xD

  • this guy is a f*cking legend.

  • lol 2 sting base hero.

  • I was working on my car last weekend and grabbed a stack of random cds from the vault ha ha. The Rollins Band was one. I honestly hadn't heard it in a while. As it was on I was like ' damn I forgot how great this is.' I'm sure my neighbors did too.

  • I miss MTV!!

  • \m/

  • amazing song!

  • This one song has been a theme for my life, no one can hate you more than you.

  • Damn... this song reminds me of me. I love Henry Rollins. It's so much more then music.

  • sexy

  • I cant figure the genre of this cause it is Rock n Roll and its Hardcore so its Hardrockcore.

  • @hollywoodraptor0016 How about "HankCore"? In honour of the Man himself.

  • @groverjuicy Thats good i call it Hankcore from now on! hahaha!

  • The Rollins Band

  • Mr Intensity. Lead singer of the best punk band ever BLACK FLAG!!!

  • There are three people who I've always wanted to have a conversation with in my life, one is Mike Muir from Suicidal Tendencies, another is Mike Patton from Faith no more, but more than them Henry Rollins is one I would kill to have a pint with. He's a very important thinking for my generation

  • Best Rollins song

  • Does that bass only have two strings? lol

  • he's about to go super sayian! do you understaaaaaand? I'm telling you he's over 9000000!!!!!!!

ha! DBZ and Henry Rollins all in one night, can't get any more epic than that.

  • Rollins always looks like his head about to explode!

  • this man is weird.

  • @tarathetarantula You are

  • Don't mess with Rollins... your neck will be in danger.

No news from a new record or anything, I would like to listen something new from Henry.

  • Very intense.

    Cheer up you fuckers !!

  • If you are breaking up with someone chuck on The End of Silence and its all soon forgotten...then get a six pack (aka black flag style)

  • last min and half <3

  • Happy birthday hank.

  • great song!

  • i fucking love henry rollins so much

  • Is he retired from music now? All I've seen lately is the spoken word stuff, which is great but............he has always been the answer to all of the bullshit music out there. I think this might be why music today is so horrible, Rollinsband ain't there to keep the bullshit in check.

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop

most fucking truthful comment I've read on this site since its been up.

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop Technically, he is not retired from music now. Henry Rollins had a jam session studio with friends relatively recently (in 2006 I believe), he is still able to sing and his body would perfectly tolerate a new tour, and he would appreciate doing this.

But he doesn't want to sing old songs, so before touring he said it would be mandatory to have a new album, which is currently difficult because he chose other priorities. I'd like to see him as the next governor of California

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop his spoken word stuff is his current way of self-expression. Remember in all those Black Flag and Rollins Band interviews he always said music was just his self-expression, if he was in it for profit he woulda done it way differently.

So now, his poetry and travels and storytelling = his way of sharing his unique point of view, and inspiring others to speak out and act out in creative, honest, real ways.

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop No, he works on new stuff, when he has trouble righting or gets busy with other stuff he takes breaks with the band and does the spoken words.

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop He said that at 50, he was done with music.

  • @OtterpopSlaughterMop

lol well if this was the mid 1990s, mtv would have Rollin Bands music videos, but since this is 2011, everyone wants youth, youth, youth. Henry Rollins has his own show where he interviews musicians, he also likes to do a whole lot of things besides music. Even though he respects Bob Dylan for only wanting to do just music. He likes spoken word cause he has a lot to say, but I am pretty sure he would be touring music none the less.

  • After all these years this remains for me one of the most POWERFUL songs I have ever heard;it's a masterpiece, IMHO!

  • Yeah I love disconnect too. That's another one I blast. "Pull my brainstem out and unplug myself. I want nothing right now. I WANNA PULL IT OUT!!!!!!"

  • 2:36 - 2:45. best part

  • Dude this song defines me. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Its cool to have someone like Rollins to bring it to the fore front it feels good but its kind of inspirational in a way; "you'd see yourself so differently believe me."

I think alot of people feel this way they just don't admit it. When I have shitty ass day I blast this song in my apartment and go fuck'n nuts.

  • With you 100%! My neighbors must hate this song! Great tune!

  • @jtorres133:

rollins speaks for a lot of us.

    my song is "disconnect".

mr. rollins, thank you for speaking out LOUD.

  • Henry says stuff that is just too real. If Henry sat me down for a conversation, he would probably tear my mind apart, send me home crying, and force me to reassess my life and values. There's no BSing this guy.

  • @thomthum2000 you must be fukd in the head

  • @thomthum2000 Bullsh#t physically dematerializes when within 20 yards of Henry Rollins.

  • @thomthum2000 you must be a weak minded dipshit, then if Rollins could do that to you. Its all an act dont you know that?

  • cool song,.

  • rollins is invulnerable

  • MY WAR.

  • This is AWESOME! ROLLINS BAND FTW!

  • great,this is too cool!!!!

  • End of Silence is a pretty intense album, probably the last decent rollins band cd

  • cool and can;t eat sorry nothing to say i wrong you wrong im prosper babe don't come near me...bore i'm talk with papa aleready sorry tht time i'm not expect to throw pin but now un sure

  • the spoken word is awsome, but this music is nothing compared to Black Flag, and Greg Ginn wrote most of the songs anyway

  • Meh, to each their own... ^_^

I appreciate your opinion, but I don't agree.

I like Black Flag, but I prefer Rollins' own writing and work. He didn't mesh with BF all that well, and on his own he's brilliant.

In my opinion, when it comes to Rollins, the music is secondary to the lyrics and message of the song. It's like poetry to background music.

In the case of Black Flag, the music and lyrics are on the same par - and in some cases the music alone is the carrying point.

  • That's kind of a huge slap to the fucking face to the musicianship of these guys. Listen to that bass, calling that background music?

  • @ComaSDA I know it's been a bit over a year, guess it shows how often I log in now. =) But just want to say I didn't mean it that way at all. The whole group is excellent & all recognized musicians in their own right. But I can see why you may have taken it that way. I was making a style comparison between RB & BF, that's all. & ftr, Bass is my favorite in any song, I even married a Bass player. ^_^

  • how do get off on saying unsubstantiated shit like this? How is this a sell out?!

  • Yeah, you're still true, or ever were. Bullshit.

  • bronzelining, i completely agree. i tried to give your comment a thumbs up, but it wont let me because too many people gave it a thumbs down haha

  • lol the original vocalist was all wannabe 77 english punk sound. rollins brought the american to it, and his lyrics are way better..black flag vocals =rollins

  • i like rollins but rollins was the death of black flag- damaged was a good album but their best stuff came before damaged

  • Dude, Fucking Brilliant! LOVE this song so much!

Ever watch any of his Spoken Word Monologues? Kind of polictical/funny/serious/stream of consciousness stuff, but SO good. I've been loving those recently.

Henry is so amazing - he must be a genius. I love how he looks so scary but is really such a sweet, thoughtfull and quiet guy. Kinda like a puppy. =P

  • Agreed, although I wouldn't call him a puppy to his face

  • LOL, I don't know... I might. ^_^ He's said as much in public about himself. I think he'd appreciate the sentiment behind it, anyway. The angry mask he wears so often isn't all that he is.

  • ive always thought rollins was singin about himself here.brilliant.

  • So much angst. Love it.

  • Now I feel like an asshole,...I almost forgot about these guys :D Rollins rocks!

  • oh man how could you?

  • music like this is like medicine for me

  • hmm they were the days, the music of my youth, even 17 years later on listening to this i feel punching someone in the face again....Rollins is the man!!

  • henry looks like mac gyver

  • him same on face ah huey lewis

  • motivational screaming, balls yeah!

  • Dude! The bass player only had two strings, very good thinking.

  • i wana try dat without breaking my strings

  • Check out my LOW SELF OPINION SCREAM-ALONG !! With lyrics.

  • Hooo. I would never put that at high sound level. Except on the headphones, of course. Pleasure in pain is personal.

  • THS ISHOW IT GOES, GET IT OOON! (fake it if you have to

  • I loved it when as the host of MTV's 120 Minutes he played this then said, "What's that guys problem?"

  • anyone know how tall rollins is. i think he might be on the short side, but i could be wrong.

  • I love this guy we grew up in the same wierd city LA

  • Love Rollins...Love this song...nothing but respect for him...but he has a SEVERE Napoleon complex.

  • How so? (Napoleon complex) After watching a lot of his stand-up/ spoken word, I'm under a different impression.

  • Rollins should just follow people around and tell them how to live there lives.

  • He should actually, we would be better off.

  • 2 string bass ftw

  • He should host his own line of aerobics DVDs if he hasn't done that already.

  • Strength training would include seeing if you can bust windows with your bare fists.

  • f*** all them haters.

    this is raw power.

    raw power is good.

    believe me.

  • i second the motion

  • first black flag then rollins band...man henry rollins is a pure genious

  • Henry Rollins = Genius, PURE Genius

  • "Rock and roll" often connotes "rebllion" in American society. Add "punk" to that and you have, I don't know, hardcore rebellion I guess. But, rebellion to what?

In the world, unless you live in a container called "your world," there are these things called "authorities." They exercise an idea known as "power." And it comes in various earthly forms. The Highest Power belongs to no man. But look up in the sky and wonder (and hope it's not going to fall on you). NASA only holds some answers

  • Is henry singing this about himself.

and that is why it comes out so strong?

  • could be

  • hank and danzig...we are 138. love rollins he keeps it real

  • lol good song, such a cheesey video though

  • c'mon now.. in '92 we were all cheesy :O

  • Hank is badass. Badass in Black Flag. Badass solo. Too bad people aren't happy when he chooses not to stay pigeon-holed.

  • Hank Rocks. I saw him in Dallas 1992. I have much respect for him. What a trooper.

  • beastie boys? hahaha yeah right man.

  • hey sonicsickle why not try to dissrespect the guy when you have the same acclaim and/or a grammy under your trash talking belt??

  • He is talking about himself. Duh.

  • this guy has no neck

  • Hey Sonicsickle you sure are smart, too bad you didn't understand the very obvious meaning of the song.

  • yeah you dont

  • Whats your Opinion of a great song?

    This should be good.

    Bet you won't even answer.

  • eigentlich ganz juter song, aber der sänger is absolut lächerlich

  • awesome song.

  • Today's rock:

"Why don't you like me?, why won't you date me?, I'll show you, I'm going to cut myself and cry!"

  • Old school rock..

  • great kickin' song, far better that todays suckin-balls quasi-rock bands. respectah

  • ur mom suck my 12 inch also. :D

  • .. this was the cut in '92.

  • Rollins has never taken steroids, you fuck.

  • LOL man, I saw this video on Headbangers Ball in about '90 and I was trippin on acid. Henry Rollin's muscles looked like they were poppin out of his head! I remembered this video forever.

  • aahaha awesome

  • This version of Rollins Band is way better than the version with the black guy on funk bass. I hated that pop shit.

  • Rollins should be a guidance counselor

  • rollins, excellent and an all round decent bloke with a shit hot band in this line up by far the best and all with a bass with 2 strings.

  • This is the safe side of Iggy Pop as one said. Sober, cleanly angry. But gosh. How powerful !

  • this looks like around the time he started taking roids, his neck is huge compared to his body in this vid

  • clearly, stinkymouser knows nothing about Henry Rollins (hank) he must not have been a teenager in the early 90's

  • stinkymouser.... god i love people like you, i bet you're kind of small? angry that you aren't rollins? need to have a go at him from a long distance? shut up, listen to the song, and get angry at something justified

  • End of Silence was a great album (except maybe for Blues Jam which went on too long) , Im blown away as I never even knew there were ever video releases of any of his stuff from that era.

Is this supposed to be shot like a motivational video...or am I reading too much into it?

  • this dude really likes showing off his muscles. lame.

  • if thats the case what made you wanna hear this again

  • I have to disagree with you, if this is stupid, then whats left to bands who sang about dragons and warriors or zombies and monsters? i dont think there are actually bad lyrics, you can like it or not...

  • That statement could be true but I think he may be singing about himself.

  • thanx henry, this the 1st time i listened to this song, your right i need to be more out going, next time i talk to a chic or go to the bar,or in a interview i will think of the song!

  • sorry but who tfs hank?

  • rollins real name

  • Its a nick name

  • Thank you, brings it all back.

    in a good way

  • Amazing...everything: drums, bass, guitar, Rollins

  • I saw his band years ago at the Hummingbird in Birhimgham. He was supporting The Red Hot Chili Peppers in their crappy socks on cocks era. He blew them off that beer-stained stage to be honest.

  • THey got too tired of you, and your self ridicule... they wrote you off and left you behind.

surely a prose worthy of Shakespeare.

  • intense song intense memories man.......

  • one of those songs were it feels like hes talking about you lol

  • Extremely good track! Btw imho Rollins looks like the guy in wolfenstein3d.

  • every single one of those whining emo retards out there should be forced to listen to Hank, and in particular this song, i vote Hank to be drill sergeant for the masses !

  • Excuse my ignorance, was he Danzig?

  • No.

Glen Danzig was. Rollins was in Black Flag.

  • I understand Danzig and Rollins are good buddies though.

  • gr8 track, 5***** who r they exactly??

  • God, I know he feels, every single word.

  • Awesome Rollins!

  • Who was the basist before Melvin Gibbs came on the scene?

    Hank is the man.

  • the greatest man that ever lived

  • if you're too fucking stupid to understand rollins, then don't post your idiotic opinions here....thank you, please come again....fucko

  • Rollins leaves nothing left in the tank after ANY performance. Very few artists can do that. He's not into the bullshit, the money, the fame - nothing. He's all about the facts, his opinion. Never disappointing. Smash'em out Henry.

  • i agree with that there below comment..

he is seriously a smart guy..

and, cooler even, because he has an einsturzende neubauten tattoo.

    whey!

    am i right??

  • This is definitely one of Rollin's Bands best songs. Henry is just a little to intelligent for some people to understand, so they talk shit about somebody they know nothing about. But Henry is a smart motherfucker, if you ever get a chance read some of his books. Very dark and intellectual stuff.

  • Thank you for posting a positive, and constructive comment, Unlike half of the comments on here saying that Henry is just full of himself and stupid.

  • I remember the first time I saw this clip many years ago, and I remember how much it floored me. Another fantastic example of music for music's, and not fashion's, sake.

  • Anger combined with intellect...complete focus!
