Imagine...they did have all this stuff back in the days, modern games like Assassin's Creed copied everything (jumping from ledge to ledge, the pushing of buttons and handles in order to open doors, only more realistic graphics :P). Even the collecting of small statues is something they fully copied (ACII). And fighting skill combinations. Only difference: guns vs swords, Lara Croft vs Ezio Auditore.
