  • interesting how he failed to even mention indias global rise which while not as large and fast as chinas is picking up steam and due to its younger workforce has the ability to surpass china in the future.

  • coming from someone who has been to china can tell u that its growth will only take it for as long as its population growth continues. once it stagnates which is expected due to the one child policy and its elderly begin to match its young people china will no longer be able to rely on a cheap labor market which even by 2020 will still play a big role in its growth and will no doupt begin to see the same problems america and the west is facing.

  • @MuslimApostate U seem to forget that there are 1.3 billion of them. just the population of youth itself is greater than the entire population of the United States as a whole. Either way tho i could care less im rooting for Asia as a whole ASEAN, Japan Korea & India no matter how u look at it its Asias Century whether its China itself or which i beleive to be true is Asia as a wholes time to shine and thats what Jim is really saying he don't live in China he lives in Singapore.

  • @imjsutthatguy yes and as i said it will peak soon due to the one child policy and then what? no amount of wealth china has will be able to pay for the explosion of elderly in need of retirement pay. That i think more then anything else is exactly why u will never hear actual chinese claim there country is a future superpower.

  • @MuslimApostate By the time that happens they would have already revised alot of their policies your thinking to short term. I hear alot of Chinese think they will ascend to power tho just look around on the net. But to be honest i don't think that's the reason they want to ascend to power i think they just want a better life. But with a strong economy comes a whole slew of other issues.

  • @imjsutthatguy And India doesn't equal all of asia. India i believe will be the exception seeing how most of asia has abused there land and resources the same way u westerners have. If anything it will be India along with brazil and a possible united africa who will be on top.

  • @MuslimApostate Ur confusing the rest of Asia with China. Asia as a whole are some of the most productive people on the planet. America only makes up 5% of world population but yet consumes 25% of its resources. Even tho China's pop. is 4 times larger still only manages to consume 10 % and they are the most wasteful of all Asians. Alot of us Asians learn to do more with less. I was born in America but live in Vietnam Theres no wastefulness trust me.

  • @imjsutthatguy think about it for a sec. India has the population to make affordable goods, Brazil has the clean air technology already available that will become the future of our energy needs plus a large portion of the worlds drinking water, and africa is a treasure trove of resources that virtually every nation needs to stay affloat. I think all of eurasia outside India is overrated.

  • @MuslimApostate Those also apply to China. China also has the population and Brazil is still years behind anything China has in green energy. China already has eco cities that are near completion and is actually the leader in any type of green energy. Actually they over took the US on that front. Africa and China have a symbiotic relationship they already planed for any lack of resources. Africa still has a good century before it can ascend to any power. The numbers don't lie.

  • @imjsutthatguy unless u a reffering to only Guilin then i have no idea what so called eco cities u refer to. I lived in China as an ESL teacher throughout 2008-2009 so i know first hand what its strengths and weaknesses r and many chinese ive talked with have agreed with me on the following. China has got the advantage for the short term but long term there is no prayer in hell it can continue to match its current state and sustain itself into the future anymore then the US can.

  • @MuslimApostate Ehh i Forget the name it was actually on youtube when i stumbled across it while i was looking for what types of green energy they were working with and it was a bbc Special. You could have lived there but that doesn't change anything. China is using leverage to propel itself from where it was to where it is now. Of course every economy levels off when you reach a comparable living standards to the west. Thats why you see more growth in developing nations. that is

  • @MuslimApostate why they are shifting from an export economy to a more consumption based economy. Cause as everyday passes their middle class grows. And the difference between China and the US is that China does not live on credit the people save 40 plus percent of their earnings that was the downfall of America and its citizens. China's not America nor do they share any type of ideology if u lived there u would know the Chinese people are totally different when it comes to money

  • @imjsutthatguy India and Brazil has the ability to sustain themselves for the long term. Africa will be nothing special unless they unite into one political entity which was in the early stages with the african union and a united states of africa has been considered on the chopping board. If successful a united states of africa has everything it needs to be a superpower in terms of population, resources, and sustainable energy.

  • @MuslimApostate India and Brazil have the potential i never said they haven't but as of right now literacy rates in both countries are horrid while Chinas population have 94% literacy rate.Living standards in India are still insanely low. Like people still shit on the sides of roads. Brazil for the most part is ahead of inia in that respect but not up to Urban standards. There is alot of infrastructure work to be done and alot can go wrong. Both are still 10- 15 years behind even

  • @MuslimApostate if China falls for a short period 5 years even they still have enough time to get back up and pick up where they left off they already have the infrastructure and the educated masses to do so. Africa like i said even if there were an African Union it woudl still take a century there just to much strife famine and war and not even a union can fix that in a few decades.

  • @MuslimApostate How are they overated the only 1st world countries outside the West are in Asia you got Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau, The entire east Coast of China, Malaysia and you got others on the verge of breaking Per Capita goals like Thailand and even Indonesia has surpassed Australia as a larger economy. IMF reports Vietnam will be the 17th largest economy in 2025 The numbers don't lie.

  • @MuslimApostate As Brazil, Africa and India Industrialize you really don't think they will cause a lil bit of environmental damage the only reason why they haven't yet is because they are far behind the industrialization curve. Just think about that.

  • We should be Communist Capitalists like China. is that what you are saying?

  • @mantonio121773 That's not what he is saying.

  • @cincinrex Wow. Lots of exclamation marks in that one. You must shout a lot. I'd like to respond to what you've written but it's almost entirely bollocks. Did you even read my post?

  • I think China will have widespread use of English before we have widespread use of Chinese. A friend who worked as an english teacher in China a few years ago told me that it takes the average Chinese kid 2 years longer to become proficient at reading and writing than a comparable English speaker, due to the great complexity of the language. Most young people in Shanghai already speak very good English..

  • Back in the 1990 I was learning Japanese I'm not gong anywhere. But my friends are wring in china making $160,000 annual wage. And got few job offers from USA company that's pays well because she speck Chinese.

  • Jim Rogers is indeed right I'm learning Chinese

  • Teach them Chinese he says... haha

Chinese is an extremely difficult language to learn, especially the written language. The system of using characters instead of letters to form sounds, which then form words is very inefficient albeit beautiful in its complexity.

I'm Korean and Koreans long ago abandoned using Chinese characters in place of our own letter system. We form words much like in English -- with letters. We still use Chinese characters in text books but to a very limited extent.

  • Incredible video this is so true, I hope that american will not be jalous, I love this video nice video!

  • World War 3 is already happening in the financial sphere between the world's greatest debtor country-the USA- and the worlds greatest creditor country-China. Hmmmm I wonder who will win.- (from) Max Keiser

  • China is the best capitalist nation in the world. Yes it is name "Communist" it is big joke. It is world factory, it is transformation the world with high technology and innovation. It is where the money is, the root all power will be.

  • hell ya china pwn dam

  • Behalve Jim Rogers, of course.

  • En alle witten beesten ga ik een kogel door hun kop jagen.

  • Hollanders zijn strondzakken die me mars kunnen vreten.

  • lol hes probably fucking asian women thats why

  • @sontardneedsadiet

Maybe he fucked your mother followed by your wife and your sis! Shit Head!

  • i dont know but in studies china and asia pacific's century is 21st century the 24th was said to be the philippines by the 3rd millenium prophecy!?

  • lol this old man is a chinese wannabe!!!! thumbs up for me

  • 21st century is not just china's century but asia's centure and asia pacific too

  • llol when is africa's century?

  • @lifes40123 When humans moved out of Africa and populated the Earth.

  • @lifes40123 its come...you see how many niggers with white woman? obamas dad was black

  • @tednguyen AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @lifes40123

africa's century was during the homo erectus era.

  • It's sad that people get so caught up with the word "communism" that they forget it's the policy being enforced that matters. From all aspect, 'communism' by definition no longer exist in China. Many who have visited there will tell you that it is more capitalist than the West.

  • @98wongjf

Capitalist yes...but not democratic. When that happens (which i think is within the next decade or 2)...we will really see China come into its own.

  • @chayaus

I think that's my point. There is no correlation between a country's success with it's form of politics. Democracy is simply a form of government, it does not dictate the success of its economic policies. China has shown that despite it's authoritarian government, it has made better economic decisions than the democratic West.

Don't take me wrong, I'd love to see a democratic China, but I'm strictly talking about the economy.

  • @98wongjf

No doubt China have been very smart economy wise over the past 30 years. But the growth they've experienced is directly related to the form of government.

The sweatshops churning out cheap 'crap' to export to the west is a huge part of China's strength. But you have to keep the people repressed and uniformed or they'd never work in those kinds of conditions.

    I see what you're saying...but i think there's a link between China's economy and it's form of government. :)

  • @chayaus

"The sweatshops churning out cheap 'crap' to export to the west is a huge part of China's strength."

This is a good point but unfortunately, also a very bad misconception. Although I do not deny sweatshops does exist in China, it constitute a minority of factories in China. The majority of factories are not sweatshops and in fact, if you take a careful look at China's labour policies in recent times, it has forced employers to do much more for their employees.

  • @chayaus - "i think there's a link between China's economy and it's form of government."

No doubt there is a link and my argument is that the link may not be a negative one. The reason China can produce cheap export is because the cost of living is extremely low. And China has been exporting since the 70s and I think the majority of the items you own (and working well) are also made in China. :)

  • @98wongjf

You can't institute democracy the Western way in China.

5,000 years of Imperial rule has produced 10% of competent administrators, 10% despots, and 80% meh Emperors.

Authoritarian rule combined with partial democratic checks-balances should be good.

but NOT like US with bitterly divided congress, or democratic India where nothing gets passed through because of end-less debates and resolution among various differnt parties.

  • BYe usa THe time of asia has come

  • @98wongjf I agree, I don't think a country is that bad if it can sustain 1.3 billion people.

  • @98wongjf Very true, but people, especially most Americans won't allow new viewpoints about China to be considered. Oh well...it's their funeral lol.

  • @1XMarksSpot no it really isn't. see my last comments. if people should be learning a language based on a the country of origins economic growth then yall need to learn hindi indian not mandarin chinese. China's growth will not last. India's will.

  • in other words, in the future for worlds official language is english and mandarin-chinese only.

  • Free market is under attack by the media and central bank. (aka nwo) That first part of the word "free" is what we have to fight our government for and take back. We're headed for central government. Its not gonna be easy. We have to fall before we can get back up. Prepare.

  • It's bad philosophically but I have a feeling their communist grip on china is actually fueling their growth. There is no red tape in China which means they can pass whatever they want into their law, etc so things get done quickly. The people pay with freedom but damn it's efficient!

  • Being ranked 50 places below Malaysia on a per capita basis is efficient ?

    LOL

  • That's irrelevant. He is talking about what it is very quickly becoming. The growth rate, the amount of money they have saved, the potential. You have to think growth rate. If they keep this up then they won't be ranked low. Anyway, with such a huge population they may stay at a lower per capita basis but still be more powerful than any other country. Luxembourg has a high per capita GDP but you don't see them being called powerful. ;)

    LOL ;)

  • GDP ? this year's forecast is down to even 5% by some economists. If you only count power as a valid indicator then Russia , India , Pakistan are all " up there " but there's no doubt they are all basket cases as is PRC in reality. I'd rather be a LXB citizen than a PRC and so would you and Rogers since you live thousands of miles away from PRC .

Think the word hypocrite comes to mind.Think before you panic and blindly follow my LOL unless you like laughing at yourself.

    NOW that's an LOL !

  • The LOL seemed to be patronizing so I just returned the same treatment, no more and no less. I never said anything about me not using LOL so therefore it is not hypocritical at all. Maybe you need to look up what it means? Maybe China's 1 trillion surplus says something? Maybe not? I'm not that well versed on economics(been really into it lately) so I guess I talk from a stance of limited knowledge. But it seems to me that China is only going to get better and better. This guy thinks so too. :)

  • I trillion in paper means nothing , the $ is a long term dog and guess who's holding most of it ?

" Seems " means nothing what is present does and right now PRC GDP is falling like a bird turd attached to a 100 pound weight. And " this guy " is nothing but a fraud he is NOT even in PRC , can you get that through your thick head ?

  • "PRC GDP is falling like a bird....." Do you know that in the second quarter Chinese GDP increased by 7.9%, much higher than 1st quarter 6.1%. Chinese economy is accelerating, not "bird". You can find the data online easily.

  • Not on a YOY basis.

    Are you PRC citizen ?

  • @KLguy133

5%? hahaha...after 2 years, you can see how naive you and the economist who you trust so much are...

  • I'd also like to point out that the financial crisis has left everyone down so the current data probably sounds bad but previous years have been impressive. It literally transformed itself over the years to be a capitalistic powerhouse. Single digit growth is the rarity, not the norm. You got to take into account everything that's been happening in China. Just because one year is bad doesn't say much over the long haul. I'm thinking 20 years from now.

  • Stupid thing to say I could do that in reverse just as easy - " I'd also like to point out that the financial boom pre 2008 has left everyone up so the previous data probably sounds great but future years have been bad . "

Anyway what would you know about what's been happening in China ? You live in NZ you bullshitter

  • After reading some of your comments on your other video I have discovered that you are an angry, angry, asshole. You rip on other people for their Cantonese and yet you are not perfect in English. I thought there was something weird about you always having some strange retort to everything I said. It was like no matter what I said, even if it was valid, you would somehow find a way to make a point against me just to make yourself feel better. You think you know everything but you are ignorant.

  • Oh bullshit you've got nothing substantial to say just like every other Western Chinese PRC wannabe so you retort to this " Oh you're so ' ignorant ' crap " . Grow a pair and grow up . My Cantonese and English are 10 times better than yours Mr Pariah face and so is my Putonghua.

  • You are the worst person I have ever met.

  • Aww deary me , the so called vain NZ Chinaman wannabe reads something he doesn't like and he starts wailing like a 3 yo girl.

Got news for you : you're not good looking or intelligent or worldly or popular or respected . The truth is and we all know it is that your stupid mother is an anus face for lying to you. Look in the fucking mirror and see the truth . You = ugly loser .

  • I'm sorry. I truly am. I never meant to make you so angry. I only wanted to talk about economics because I find it interesting. I'm sorry if I've offended you in any way, it was not my intention. You are obviously upset at me about something but I don't understand what I have done. I apologize sincerely for disturbing you. I only want to be friends with people. Peace. :)

  • I doubt it .
