  • This just made my day! I think you are a wonderful person and are a person who society should listen too <3

  • Oh wow, this helped. Especially the fact that you wore that cool outfit, in the middle of the city. I can't wait to go to school and wear my weird clothing now. I feel a lot better about my self. Thanks.

  • Very well said. Thank you for the heartfelt message.

  • I am not sure what video you tell people to look in the mirror and greet themselves but that really stuck with me, it truly did. I share that with others as it a powerful message. We forget that kindness to ourselves is important! Thanks Sister Unity :) You Rock Sister!!

  • Mama... U are talking to the young'uns but I am 50 years old and this is something for us also! Do you have a sermon for us older sissies?

  • @SuperCp12 My Old Friends, We need you. Get off your legitimately fatigued asses and get involved with the community around you. There are young folk, the ones' for whom I made this video, who need YOU, your life experience, your heart, your voice, to speak to them, to love them, to support them, to speak where they cannot. Do this and find how it raises the meaning of your life. Your time on Earth has value, spend it on making other lives smooth and your own life gets gilded as a result.

  • @SisterUnity

    Ok sister... will do! Thanks!

  • I just wanted to thank you.I'm not gay but a friend linked your video when I was contemplating suicide. It helped me a great deal.I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Your "Sister Unity" Persona is so lovely. :]

    So inspiring and such beauty!

  • you look.... FREAKIN AMAZING:)

  • Absolutely amazing! Your message was heartfelt, meaningful and so much more then the other videos. You should be a spokesperson for the Trevor Project! The way you talk about it and seem so warm and caring, will make any young person going through a hard time, know that they WILL get through those times.

  • Im doing fine but i still want to call you :)

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO. LOVE THE MAKEUP TOO!

  • I LOVE this video! I technically love all of your videos, but I love what the "It Gets Better" project is doing. Your video and Pixar's are so far at my top favorites of the project- Mahvelous, dahling.

  • "That you think special thoughts" that was a funny line. Luv yah sister unity

  • you know,I`m almost 30 and this video touched me,reminded me of things i had almost forgoten! Now,sitting here in this time and place, stumbling upon you quite by accident, yet somehow knowing something special was about to happen.Listening to what you said, remembering all the pain and suffering one goes through, realising just how strong we as a community have grown to be! From the deepest parts of my being,I thank-you,and all others helping thoes that need it the most.

  • Well I guess I would just be repeating what many have said telling you how much I appreciate this video. Thank you for one of the most articulate messages on this subject on here. I will forward a link to this to anyone I feel needs the inspiration.

  • I can't wait to meet you either, sister!

  • TELL IT SISTER!!!! It was really wonderful meeting you last night! You are PURE SUNSHINE!! :)

  • Wow your make up is gorgeous!

    Awesome video =D

  • Omg i listened to the first minute and a half and u opened me up i was think there no end to my suffering god ty so much we have talked one on one and im so grateful to u ty so much

  • Out of all the "It gets better" videos that have been going around recently, I have to say yours has been the best. You have such a wonderful way with words! You almost made me cry. But in a good way! :P

And kinda off topic, but your makeup is GORGEOUS! I'm envious of your makeup abilities!

Take care, and thank you for making this vid. It makes me so upset to see that in this day and age, there are still so many closed-minded people.

  • i love this video. i love you. this video moved me to tears. you are such a beautiful, gorgeous, kind soul. thank you, for your words. i hope, one day, i can be as strong as you.

  • Beautiful message. I'm always intimidated by people in drag, though. The "join us" part made me laugh: gay recruitment.

  • There are no words to say how moved your message made me.

  • A beautiful, evocative commentary on an issue so many of us face as we come into our own. Thank you for sharing this. You are truly an inspiration. Namaste! <3

  • I just freaking love this love this love this love this thanks again

  • @tonykeywest08 have fun u epic douche bag

god hates those who do not respect others

  • Thank you so much for posting! Gurl - YOU are amazing! Yes, we've been through this. Yes, we've survived. Yes -as Sisters- we are here making noise! (In our own ways!) Thank you for being such an inspiration.

  • @ Sister Unity. Thank you for this message. I am happy to report to you that I used your video (in addition to a few others) to help a young teenage man who I am honored to say respected and trusted me enough to reveal to me that he is gay and was thinking about ending his life today. After talking to him, and sharing this with him, he is still with us and has a new outlook on life. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for your message.

  • Sister Unity, I love your videos. And I must say this one was done so lovely, and true. You'r a great inspiration to so many and to my self. I just wanted to say thank you for being you and posting your videos.

  • You haters have to admit, this guy is REALLY interesting!

  • You are amazing, my dear Sister Unity! I only can agree with you. So wrong to keep your frustration inside. Get it out of the bottle otherwise it will ruin more than you ever thought. You deserve the Nobel Prize for peace.

    Love always, Rose Murphy

    the Netherlands

  • This is easily one of the better "It Gets Better" videos I've seen. SisterUnity doesn't talk about whether homosexuality or homosexual practices are good or bad. That's not what this is about. That's not why those boys killed themselves. This is about motivating and helping miserable and misunderstood people who may have lost all hope.

  • I used this video as an example of It Gets Better for one of my counseling classes. Thank you very much. You're message is perfect. I kind of forget the crazy, but beautiful, make up and just listen to the message.

  • @Agwen24 Thank you. I'm honored.

  • @SisterUnity GAH! Sometimes things don't sound the way I meant them to be when I read them again. Take two! Your message was so well put together that I stopped paying attention to the make up. It is really beautiful by the way. I can't even seem to get eyeliner to go on straight. *sigh*

  • Beautiful!

    Thanks for your loving message

  • <3 very true indeed! thank you, hope you are well:-)

  • Very insightful, but your tone seemed rather cold/ hostile. Good for you for finding yourself though :)

    It really does get better!

  • @Leonicdragon or perhaps stern would be a better word...

  • I think it is awesome that you are you. Everyone should be ok with themselves and I hope all of the kids that are struggling see your message. TY

  • Extremely true. Peace.

  • beautiful message, thank you so much.

  • Gawd i love you, your so so freaking amazing and beautiful and insiteful plus inspiring

    ur too amazing

  • @VivaLaVieBoheme49 "The World is a mirror!"

  • Thank you for sharing your story :) I like your look!

  • a dutch guy overthere in europe loves me for being my self and he loves me more and more for all these nice new interesting vids. Good God is he gay ore something? just kidding You my dear sister, no I am not gay but I am a little bit more (if You do'nt mind.) greetings to You from The Netherlands.

  • @lekkerehenk All my love and a glass of Avocaat to my lovely Dutchman!

  • @lekkerehenk GOD HATES THE NETHERLANDS

  • @tonykeywest08 Hey Tony Luv, Key West is one of the major gay cities in the whole US. You know, like Fire Island, Provincetown, San francisco, etc. FYI, Sweetie.

  • @klober23 There's a difference?

  • You've really inspired me to do a similar type of video sometime in the future, it's so true but needs to be heard from people like you Sister :)

  • how long does it take you to do your full makeup? it's really intricat and quite nice

  • @parapara73 Make up???

  • I give props to the people who come out of the closet, more power to them. People should learn to accept ideals.

  • hey Sis, thanks for the words of inspiration. I believe that this message can apply to anyone who experiences discrimination based on their state of being. I have the convenience of being a heterosexual male, but I am also multiracial. As such, i can relate to a feeling of being different. although the aspect is different, I empathize with being ill-fit in a society of sharply drawn lines. I once lamented my state, but I have come to treasure myself as a culture of one. Keep spreading the love!

  • Sister, I love you! Crap, I am almost in tears! Thanks!

  • i hope thats some sort of mouth paint and not disgusting yellow teeth

  • a catifsh (hence the whiskers) a tiger (hence the makeup) and a nun were having a menage a trois in a rainstorm and u were conceived. thanks for sharing sister

  • thank you for your message, your passion, and your fabulousness. i hope young people see and hear you. thank you for your message of hope and love!

  • Love you!....and your squeaky jacket!

  • @SisterUnity lmao good one unity!

  • @SisterUnity shove a sock in it you abnormal man..

  • @xSouthSide13 Oh trust me, I've read it plenty of times. However, I've read with with scholarly knowledge and contextual information. The Bible never once speaks out against homosexuality. Give me the passage and I'll give you an education.

  • Thank you so much for posting this.. It hurts me to hear of all these poor kids killing themselfs over highschool drama.

  • no offence i felt like i was watching one of those Japanese Horrors - which I love... u look... different, weird... and I luf it! :D

  • cat man????

  • This is so well said. It's an incredibly comforting and well written speech and I hope anyone who needs it has the opportunity to watch it.

  • honest advice. thank you

  • @SisterUnity You could refute my argument. You could engage me in debate. Or you could run and tell mummy. I see that you've picked the latter.

  • @pliskin100 What debate is there with a bigot who's first line of argument consists of grade-school name calling? The child here, it seems, is you. More power to you @SisterUnity!

  • @pliskin100

How can you attempt to take the intellectual high ground now after that vile first comment...embarrassing

  • Sister Unity, you are beautiful,, your message touched me. You are an inspiration for many straight people like me to get off my butt and speak for my sisters and brothers who deserve to know we straights cannot WAIT to meet you and them either! Love, Cat in Seattle

  • @xSouthSide13 which god, please? I'm Hindu.

  • such a wonderful message and a wonderful person. <3

  • I love this video...and the whole message is so very, very true. It gets so much better if you just hold on. <3

  • @mikeshredder233 Actually the APA removed gayness from the DSM in the 70's so it's not an illness actually. And the State Supremem Court of California has multiple rulings proving we are not a "danger to children". Recent study shows gay parents tend to produce mentally healthier children actually.

  • @mikeshredder233 actually, you could search the nature videos here on youtube: turns out gay is very much a part of nature. Re: Bible; I am Hindu so I don't have those particular assessments to contend with; but I do understand from biblical scholars that Sodom's judgement was about rape and discourtesy rather than homosexuality.

  • You are just plain fantastic.

  • yaaaaaay <3

  • wow! dude ur weird but thats a good thing but being gay is a waist of life gay marriages an rel;relationships never last that long.

  • Well said, and I totally agree with the person who said that you have a beautiful soul. Keep it up, people need to watch this video.

  • Awesome vid, sister. You're beautiful and so is your message.

  • what can i do if i have no one to talk and if i try to talk to my mum and dad they might not be happy i dont know what to do and i if i talk to someone im scard that they might tell someone and its hard to talk to someone because i dont trust alot of people what should i do??

  • @speclesagl you can hold on to it yoruself as long as you need to if you have a true concern for your safety. You can also seek out counselors or adults who must professionally keep your confidentiality.

But let me say, when the secret is out, there is freedom, even if it becomes difficult.

    and

Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is having fear and doing the right thing anyway.

You can watch videos about coming out; they'll give you ideas on how it goes and possible results.

  • @SisterUnity

    thank you

i need to know that agian thank you

  • nice outfit! i really like it!

  • I LOVE this video. Thanks for being you. <3

  • y dont you just be gay but not paint ur face

  • @crazymonkey186 Isn't that like, Why don't you get married and just never have sex?

  • @SisterUnity hmm interesting

  • @crazymonkey186 check out the sisters of perpetual indulgence

  • YOU ROCK. Love your makeup, but I would love to see your face without it too, haha <3 :)

  • gays are an abomination.......LIKE THE BIBLE SAID.

  • @kingjbrown26 Funny, nowhere in the Bible is this written. Also, Bibles do not speak, they are inanimate objects. Moreover, when something is written, it is always in the present tense, so keep it coming with your ignorance, friend.

  • @kingjbrown26 theres alot of things that we do that go that go against THE BIBLE'S SAYINGS. No one lives with out sin remember God said to "love one another as i have loved you." If you're hating on gays your going against God's greatest commandment. It really pisses me off when the bible is brought up for hateful reasons.

  • @kingjbrown26

You lead your life based on a book written by people you don't know who lived in a society 2000 years ago in a desert.

Mabye if you made your opinions by thinking on your own rather than on a book that makes as much realistic sence as Harry Potter then you would have some valid points.

  • "I know that you've got something to say, that you've think special thoughts, that you have feelings[...]You are valuable and I can not wait to meet you."

I'm not gay so I can't even begin to imagine what those teens went through, but I love the "it gets better project" and this is by far the best of all the videos.

  • heres my special thought,it looks like all you want is to be different, theres nothing wrong with normalcy, why insist on being different for just being different

  • Sister, youre so beautiful, and you put so much thought and feeling into this, and youre just such an inspiration, and this just makes me want to cry. Youre just awesome, and thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You give me hope:)

  • @randomlyfresh23 You're a love.

  • gay... lol jk

  • I'm not gay or coming out of the closet, but I am going through a really tough time right now and this is actually really inspirtational to me. It gets better, all in time. I will keep going with the strength of these people and not give up, even though I have been wanting to so many times. Seeing how they made it through tougher times than me has made me see that I can get through it. Thank you so much =]

  • By the way, I'm okay with your video, but you almost imply that you're gay.

  • @JWQweqOPDH Thank you! I am extraordinarily gay.

  • wrong, and it's effect is also multiplied by hormones, which, again, if we all completely listened to without thinking deeply about it, would lead us to make very bad desicions. So, I love EVERYONE(not usually sexually), but the ACT of gay sex, I have come to the conclusion, is definitally a SIN.

  • @JWQweqOPDH You are very thoughtful. That is great. I will not expect to see you having any gay sex then. :)

  • I believe premarital sex is a sin, but I don't bully people about it. Same with gay sex, giving into eating too much unhealthy food, other sins, or anything that, as humans, we are naturally tempted to do especially when, deep down inside, we feel weak. I thought unhealth diet habits was a good comparison because it can seem helpful in some way, seems to not hurt other people, and is heavily influenced by environment and addictive, although gay sex draw a clear line between normal and(next post)

  • What the fuck?

  • your example is such a great contribution to the cause <3

  • You are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I love ya... fantastic. Thank you for helping!

  • Wow. You're gorgeous :)

  • Down with the bullies of all kinds!

  • I know it doesn't mean a lot me being a stranger but I thought this was wonderful I love how your not afraid to be yourself. Btw I love your make up I'm a girl and who barely ever wears make up... if I put on make up I'd love to do something like that ^^

  • Is this person from the Sisterhood of Perpetual Indulgence? (In San Fran?)

    Looks...so...familiar.

I watched a documentary that the SOPI had a brief bit in... man, things you learn.

  • Seriously, this guy is not making it any better for gay teens. He looks ridiculous! No wonder everyone makes fun of gays, this is what they picture gay people to be....F*CKING crazy, like this guy!!!!!

  • @in60dwetru5t So you don't like glitter? What's wrong with people who look odd and men who like to be feminine? Aren't you really saying that only a little gay is OK, not a lot of real gay?

  • Where were you when I was younger and my tormentors' only excuse was not that I was gay or bi or trans, but that I refused to follow the herd? This message is beautiful, and so necessary to not only the young LGBTQ out there, but to everyone. Thank you. For myself, and for my LGBTQ friends, thank you.

  • Wow! What an amazing message.

  • While I can truly appreciate, what at least appears to be, your sincere kindness and caring for others, but honestly, would you really expect to not get picked on, or treated differently with the way you dress yourself? I mean, can't you be a kindhearted and caring without out all the theatrics? Is dressing like that truly "who you are"? Because I don't see how it possibly could be.

I'm honestly not trolling, it's a serious question.

  • @YouArePoland "I like you, but you should change"

  • @justnicknet Change? He changed who he was to look like that. That's not who he really is, that's artificial.

And notice I say he, not she. Because he is a he. It would be much easier to like him if he would actually be himself instead of whatever this is supposed to be. You can be gay without dressing as awkwardly as possible.

  • @YouArePoland What is wrong with theater? I am a performer, theatrics are part of who I am and what I do. Art is a vehicle, often for important messages. Why judge the vessel when the contents are what will be drunk?

  • SHUT IT FAGGOT AND YOU CAN'T BE A SISTER WHEN YOU HAVE A PENIS DIPSHIT HAHAHAH

  • @mench5125 Evidence of 30 years would seem to contradict you.

    wwwwwww thesisters commmmmm

  • love the lips <3

  • ._. this is insane not gay.

  • WTF IS THAT! WTF IS IT!? There's gays, there's drag queens, there's trannies, but this is a class all on its own... Holy shit. Best thing I've seen today.

  • @mikeshredder233 I hope god sees the hate in your heart and judges you accordingly. God would rather take a kind gay man or woman, than a bigoted, hateful person like you

  • @ra2gen I'm not necessarily saying you're right or wrong, but if you truly believe in God, I would be careful not to put words into his mouth.

Also, wishing judgment upon others isn't something you should be doing either. You should love even your enemies, and wish that their hearts be changed, not wish that they go to hell. (I'm assuming you're religious in some way since you're referring to what is better in God's eyes.)

  • Preach Sister Unity! That's the key, "Once You Get Out". Amen! Beautiful and true words.

  • Very well said. Listen to this man.

  • Your makeup is very kewl! Cheers! Peace and happiness always....da odd~ist

  • I will pray for you.

  • @locdogg18750 Thank you.
