Ignore the people saying it's not possible. Wooden guns were known to be used in history from time to time. For the second attempt use a big piece of tough wood (for example 24 inch elm log with a 3 inch bore), and wrap the whole thing tightly with steel wire. Don't expect your wooden cannon to last very long. If reinforced it won't blow apart on the first shot, but it will still char and ream out the bore, and eventually crack the wood enough to fail.

Wooden barrel for the kind of chamber pressures, even from primitive-ass-backwards black powder, equals fail.
Just be glad you did not take any wooden shrapnel-splinters into you. Those could have killed you in an instant.

you will need somthing MUCH stronger than wood to contain gunpowder, even some metal isnt strong enough, this was fun to watch though lol
