The possiblity of complex aquatic organisms is greater on Enceladus than on Europa, do the the lesser intensity of radiation. A very exciting prospect indeed. I hopw they find life out there soon, I want to say "I told you so" so bad to some christians I know.
AWESOME VIDEO! THUMBS UP!! =D Enceladus seems similar to Europa, Jupiter's 4th largest moon & Triton, Neptune's largest moon. We need to send missions to Uranus & Neptune. Uranus's moons haven't been studied as much, & neither has Neptune's. Since gas giants don't have an actual "surface," the moons could be studied more. Uranus = 27 moons: 5 largest moons: Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, & Oberon. Neptune = 13 moons: 1 large moon: Triton, an odd moon WITH a retrograde orbit!
Your choice of music for these presentations is absolutely superb. Thank you for your work! ( I watch History Channel's "The Universe" and am enthralled by all things space.)
The ammonia in the eruptions means that an ocean could exist below the freezing point of water. Enceladus could be a mini-Europa. For its size, it has a lot of character.
What would really be neat is if you took all the videos you have of the planets and moons and put them on a DVD for sale. It sure would be a great teachers aid. I would love to have one if you ever do it.
Nice video! However, the shape and activity of the plumes observed in the SPR does not seem to match your video. Also you said scientists "are almost sure" about the presence of liquid water. However, that's not quite true from the vast journal papers I have read. It has been deemed a plausible explanation of the data Cassini has sent back, but they cannot be even close to sure with the small amount of data we have! The discovery of ammonia around the plumes was exciting tho!
Thanks for the comment! When you say "does not seem to match", that you are refering to the animation. Well it was made over a year ago by 'The Universe' , so it ages poorly. I think the still images speak volumes though. :O) As for the "are almost sure", then i have to stick by that, as i find it hard to find anyone that doubts it right now. Not to say they are all correct though. Remember this video is 10 months old, so dated. Thats the fun part about it all id, the new discoveries. :)
Nice video again with wonderfull music AggMan UK :-). I saw Belgium on this video XD ! But Enceladus looks very weird to me. It's so small and of pure ice and still a sphere. Its only 2.5 times bigger than Belgium. Someone told me that Enceladus will be gone at billions of years? Is it because its so close at Saturns surface that the moon is heating up? Or is it something else?
Not sure about a definite answer. It could be that Enceladus just blows all of its matter into space leaving it to be pulled into Saturn? Billions of years is a very long time, so anything can happen really. I will have to look into this more for a more definitive answer. All the best! :O)
All orbits are unstable over the space of billions of years.... Its has been theorised that Saturn's rings come from its gravity (only about 1.1 times that of earth's) crushing a moon that got too close, so perhaps that what they meant.
As for heating up, I would say that our best theory's suggest it it cooling down, due to Dipole reorientation. There is a paper about this, to do with a 1:4 secondary spin orbital which heated it up) changing to a 1:2 stable orbit.
Yeah, i am not sure myself about it's temperatures. I have read very good theories on both counts of it heating and cooling and they both make sense. I guess long time observation will give us the correct event thats happening. Thanks for the great comments! :O) All the best!
It does have Oxygen in a sense, but not where you could stand on the moon and breath. Enceladus produces something called Atomic Oxygen. It has internal heat and is geologically active, so it spews out water vapor and ice into Saturns E ring. When this decomposes, it leaves clouds of Atomic Oxygen. Enceladus does have an atmosphere, but its small size makes it hard to keep hold of it. So if it became inactive, it would just disappear. Hope that helps? All the best! :O)
Thats right, it will be quite a spectical for future observers. I wish i was around to see it! Many thanks for watching and the great comment! All the best! :O)
Did you put these videos together? So far they are all so very impressive...very compelling...and so very beautiful both in the hearing and the visual...eye and ear candy to say the least...Bravo!
Yes i did. :O) They are for my son Sol. I only meant to do a few, but people really liked them so i did more and more and... LOL :O) Thanks for the great comment.
Love Enceladus, Europa, and Titan. Mostly the icy moons and moons that have somewhat of a atmosphere and could possibly sustain life oneday. You got to do Triton. It has a dense atmosphere and has ice.
Ganymede if you can too. Its the largest moon in the solar system.
Spectacular! The pictures of Enceladus against Saturn's rings were an extra special treat. Once more an amazing tidbit of information about some of our closest neighbors in space.
Agg My Friend! Your construct and presentation of these largely academic but appealing creations are as perfect as the call of Art and Academy alike can demand!
