  • its actually hilarious.... the stadiums that the american teams played in could hold and did hold many more people than the canadian stadiums..hahaha

  • Regina LOL

  • I'm just glad the Lions didn't lose the Grey Cup to the Americans. At the time, I hated the Stamps, they were a pain in the ass for BC to play against because of Flutie. I didn't even care if the Cup went to the States, and especially if it was Calgary losing to them. Nowadays, I don't have any deep-seeded hatred for other CFL teams, so if the same thing happened now, I'd probably pull for Calgary for a game, but not be mad if the U.S. team won. Plus, I remember the Stallions having good fans.

  • If you just looked at the players on the Stallions and ignore the USA/Canada thing, they WERE a very talented team that you'd think was Grey Cup-caliber (Mike Pringle, Ham, Drummond)

  • 0:55

    Greenbay Packer?

  • @TheKassicRock

    Edmonton Eskimo.

  • @TheKassicRock Edmonton Eskimos have very similar uniforms to the Green Bay Packers....when the Grey Cup is played you'll often see alot of fans wearing their favourite or hometown teams jerseys, the Grey Cup is like the Super Bowl - each year a different city hosts it.

  • Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to put some US teams in the CFL?

  • @iheartryanstyles At least they tried, the league was in very bad financial shape, i think the federal gov't gives alot of money to the league, or at least i think they did in the 90's.

  • GO ALS GO !!!!!!!

  • We americans wouldn't be upset if a canadian city wins the superbowl, or would we lol.

  • @rfe8nn2 How did you feel when the Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series?

  • @RetroWinnipeg congratz to the blue jays they really deserve it that year, and if a canadian team wins the superbowl if there is one, i would be happy for that team also. Hey if the nfl expands and different teams from other lands start winning in are champion game, I would be like woohooo, are leagues the best and all started in america :).

  • @RetroWinnipeg I felt proud to see the Jays beat Ted Turner and Hanoi Jane's Tomahawk Club in '92. Since Atlanta defeated the Pirates (thanks a lot, Barry), the Jays would be my pick to win the World Series. Guess what? Dave Winfield helped the Jays with his 2-out 2-run double! 10/24/92 is an important day in Canada's history...the day the Jays won the World Series! GO JAYS GO!

  • @RetroWinnipeg Only the Braves and Phillies fans were upset. Americans don't hate Canada.

  • Baltimore is the only city and WILL BE the only city to win an NFL and CFL title.

  • @UIWWildthing distinctive honour, Go Baltimre

  • @TheRenegadeawesome it was a joke. I have Canadian friends who make jokes about the French.

  • Well, the Baltimore Stallions moved to Montreal. What's the deal that CFL fans didn't want a american team to compete for the Grey Cup? The expansion to the US was a failure. They(the CFL) need to get bigger stadiums in the major cites in Canada for expansion.

  • @Renagade70 Well, Shreveport had good support, but their owners were retarded and got sued so many times that they HAD to fold.

  • whats with everybody complaining about a canadian team losing to us americans? it was 15 years ago get over it and if your really going to get upset about something that happened in football then wait until your hometown team leaves for another city and takes everything with them like what happened to the baltimore colts. GO BALTIMORE RAVENS!

  • Garcia woulda pulled it out

    stupid Wally

  • I know Eric Sorenson from global national now lol.

  • GO USA! USA! I wish only it would've been a team based in Indianapolis to

    win the cup!

  • I only wish the Grey Cup 97 was in Baltimore, with all the profits split by the 8 remain teams that season, as a way to say thank you to Baltimore for their support.

  • friggin stampeders cant win shit all this is why nobody likes them

  • fucking stamps loosing to an american team

  • Hell ya, if it was legal it would be a nfl throw back but shit we still cant get the colts shit back and jonny Unites went fighting to his grave over the shit the nfl hates baltimore, id love for the UFL to bring back the stallions to baltimore :-) Fuk the NFL

  • it was great the Baltimore team won,i am a die hard cfl fan and it was a great time to see american expansion..hopefully some day they will return...

  • @iamnewfie1

fuck no cfl should never return to the states

  • R I P CFL USA 1993-1995

  • I'm a Baltimorian, and I was so proud, and what's so amazing is that this was their last season in Baltimore before the Ravens came to town

  • I lived in Baltimore when the Stallions played. The CFL and the NFL are both great leagues. I would like to see an exhibation game played between the CFL/NFL. By the way , I am half Canadian and half American. My dad is from Toronto and my Mom is from West Virginia

  • lol at all the rider fans. RiDER PRiDE

  • e=mc regina

  • There was nothing wrong with having U.S. based teams. What was wrong with the whole thing was the Import-non Import ratio only applied to the Canadian teams. So the Canadian teams were at a disadvantage. It would be like asking American NHL teams to only use American players, and they would be at a disadvantage too.

  • I miss the Stallions

  • Better Calgary than BC to lose to Baltimore.

  • LyricsCO, you are an idiot. There are some Canadians playing in the NFL, like there are some Europeans playing in the NBA. The NBA is called the National Basketball Assosiation.

  • Hey, if they didn't want an American team to win the Cup, they shouldn't have let us in the league. Why do the comments on every CFL video turn into a U.S. vs. Canada pissing match? CFL is a good league, NFL is a good league, now let's all unite in our hatred of the French. ;)

  • @FireBuff51 I would have had no problem with an American team winning it. The problem was the American teams didn't have to use the import-non import ratio so it was a tainted victory

  • @BJtheDC1937 I hear you, but my comment still stands. They shouldn't have given the U.S. teams an exemption. If they were going to play in the CFL, they needed to play by CFL rules all the way. Nobody has any room to get pissed that a U.S. team won the cup under such circumstances.

  • @FireBuff51 "now let's all unite in our hatred of the French. ;)"

really stupid... you don't know what you're talking about

  • @sylvain316 no, I know exactly what I was talking about. It was a joke, friend. Relax.

  • Canada>USA...lets face it, were smarter, better looking, and were not in a shitter, economically speaking

  • LOL. no

  • Funny how some people are getting so rattled by this. CFl was going through a tough time, which is irrelevant now.

As for the Nationals, Montreal fans did not do a good job supporting their team. That's their loss. It should be more embarrasing that the US national capital with it's large population and new expansion team has difficulty attrating 27000 people a night. We're talking "America's" pastime in "America's" capital. Even the Jays attract the same if not more

  • most Washington area baseball fans are Orioles fans

The CFL has found its niche now, Montreal is a prime example of how well the league is doing now. Toronto just needs better ownership

  • Why the fuck do fucking americans think there better then canada??? We fucking saving your guys asses in the fucking war right now us canadians took over afganistan and were fighting for americans too can all of you american hicks just SHUT Up!!

  • Wow the news anchor gives off a tone like someone committed a crime. What a hack.

  • Almost like when the Blow Jays took the World Series Trophy to hell...err...Canada...

Don't worry, we stole the Expos to make up for it....Blow Jays will be in Portland before too long as well...

  • or when any us city wins the stanley cup. luckily none of the hockey players are american XD

  • lol you wish buddy. the jays arent going anywhere. and yea the nationals are really doing a MUCH better job than the expos did. The point is, Americans have their own football league they didn't need to get CFL teams. Canada doesn't have a Pro Baseball league so its only right to have a couple of MLB teams.

  • It was too bad it didnt work out with a few US based teams they had a few good owners that were committed.

  • Its perfectly understandable that the Canadians would not want the Stallions to win, it is a Canadian league after all. I can remember back in 1992, a lot of people wanted the Braves to beat the Jays in the world series because they did not want to see a Canadian team win in an American league.

  • well its called major league ball, and the expos had been in the league since the 60s, you guys knew it would happen someday. As for this, the CANADIAN football league had an american team winning omg glad that never happened again haha

  • @riderfanszmul Thank the F@#$ that the CFL American teams folded up shop!Worse yet,the CFL might not have existed today if Vince McMahon had it his way and ended up buying the CFL out.Heck, even his own XFL creation lasted only 1 season!

  • Americans would have DOMINATED the CFL if we stayed.

    USA > Canada

    Simple as that.

  • usa= Canadas chair ;]

  • more like the hat

  • Wow get the hell out. What a fanboy.

  • true, true. But the CFL is a joke compared to the NFL so it really doesn't matter haha. Lets see a CFL team vs NFL...basically murder

  • grey cup goes to hell????? first they add american expansion teams to the CFL, then they get angry when one of them wins the grey cup. where i'm from we call that "jealousy".

  • yep, if they didn't want an American team to win the Grey Cup, they shouldn't of had American teams in the first place!

  • Don't think we're all "jealous" on the account of one person's posting. For me, I only cheered for Calgary because I dislike Don Matthews more than Wally Buono.

  • First of all, when you say 'they" I assume you mean the CFL, I don't know why you think that the CFL didn't want the Stallions to win just because of a title someone made on a Youtube video.

Second off, truthfully speaking, who wouldn't be jealous? Every year the Jays miss the playoffs, I'm jealous of the teams that do, when the Raptors get eliminated from the playoffs, I'm jealous of the team that moved on.

Jealousy is everywhere, and it's not all necessarily wrong.

  • actually i meant CFL fans or Canadians in general.

  • Canadians wanted a Canadian team to win the Grey Cup...Yeah, what did you expect. You speak as if THEY were the ones who gave the US CFL franchises.

  • i wish i could find some footage of that game.

  • they show it on espn classic sometimes, just pvr it haha

  • it be funny if indianapolis got a CFL

team and named it the stallions and then they win the grey cup the year they started.

i'm not talking about it coming from another team. just on it's own. and it REALLY make the ravens fans mad that

they made a new logo looking simular to the OLD baltimore colt logo......exept,

    a bucking STALLION!

  • Baltimore Stallions had really good football fans, I even saw a few of them in the 2008 Grey Cup in Montreal!

  • We love our football in Baltimore

  • You know it man!!!!

  • Rofl, 1:40

  • I was a season ticket holder with the Baltimore Football Club. Remember that? We would do the C-O-L-T-S...COLTS! thing. That really bothered the NFL, so much in fact that they were threatening to sue. Hence the Stallions name came about. I've got season tickets to the Ravens now and love it, but those days at Memorial with the Stallions were a lot of fun.

  • We'll at least the Ravens (NFL) won a Super Bowl 6 years later after the Stallons won, & it was still the only American team that won the Grey Cup to this day. Meanwhile, the NFL Ravens were the old Cleveland Browns when they moved it there 5 years earlier. The Stallons ceased operation just before the Ravens came there a year later. So that answers your question.

  • I remember that game! I had Stallions season tickets for the two years of their existence, and still have a Stallions helmet, Stallions tees and even a Baltimore CFL Colts hat. STALLIONS FOREVER!!!

  • I'd watch the CFL in the USA if they tried it again.

Here's what I'd like to see (though it will never happen ever): A pro-football game CFL style (larger field, slot-backs, rouge, etc.), but with FOUR downs instead of three.

That would be a great game to watch.

  • The problem with the four downs idea, is that the larger field of the CFL makes offense much easier. With 4 downs, I would bet the offense will almost always score.

  • I never understood the fuss. If Toronto could win the World Series, then what's wrong with Baltimore winning the Grey Cup? This became one of those weird "Sports Pride/National Pride" conflicts. It felt silly at the time. Still...I thing the expanded CFL would have worked if the American teams had stuck to more northern cities. Portland would have worked. Baltimore got into it because they'd lost their NFL team, and the city NEEDED to fill that hole in it's heart.

  • Well its not the American baseball league, but the league is called the CANADIAN football league

  • Wow. You actually went there, didn't you? For a Canadian, that was an almost stereotypically 'American' way of looking at it. Ah, well...I shouldn't expect too much from a 'Riders fan. GO T-Cats!

  • lol T-Cats?

  • Yep. That's what I call 'em some times, fella. Haven't you ever called just called the Roughriders, the 'riders before? It's been my CFL team since the first game I saw them in. Also, being from Detroit - and my dad being more an Argo's fan - I felt more of a connection with the T-Cats.

  • It's not that the U.S.A. is Hell. It's just that Canadian football players suck, and can't beat American football teams.

  • lol, Most of the players were Americans anyway. It's like saying because American cities win the Stanley Cup, that Americans are better at hockey. Just ridiculous.

  • Hey the Toronto Blue Jays did the same thing when they won the World Series twice & that confused some Americans by not winning, too. That's what led to the player lockout that cancelled the '94 World Series, too. Am I right?

  • You're probably right. I don't really follow baseball too closely. I'm a Canadian, and I love my country, but I never saw the bluyjays winning as making Canada a baseball powerhouse all of a sudden. lol. In fact, I don't think any of the bluejays were from Canada

  • Here are some players that played for the Blue Jays back when they were winning big time that were Canadian..

Denis Boucher, Rob Butler, Rob Ducey, Paul Quantrill, and Paul Spoljaric, Current Jays Pitcher Scott Richmond is from BC

  • I miss the CFL in Baltimore. Good times.

  • Well, it was either the Baltimore Stallions or the Baltimore Ravens. I think the Ravens fans are happy w/ the outcome.

  • Tracy Ham was a great QB for Baltimore and Montreal

  • hold on first off all that was done for Baltimore my hometown which was duped for indiannapolis. So nothing was going to hell. it was actually well accepted in baltimore.

  • This was also the first time a Grey Cup game was played in Regina.
