after marissa got attacked by trey, the whole show totally went out of the writer's hands/downhill; trey being shot, marissa leaving the school, johnny, johnny's death, followed by marissa's drug issue; Ryan blackmailed coz of the marissa situtation, Marissa's death. I mean give it a rest it's all too much (considering the other characters have drama as well), the story had potential for a decent season 4 with Marissa and a finale season 5 .

One time there was nothing interesting on so i watched it and i was really surprised how good it is. So i just watched the whole series. I am watching the shows you listed and they are of course better than the o.c. but the o.c. is also great in it's own way. If you have enough time to watch more shows and you want variety then this show is a prefect candidate. It offers drama, comedy and the typical family show feeling. And the Quality of the show is very high most of the time.

im a fan of the first two seasons, and i honestly think that josh schwartz and stephanie savage have a recurring problem with their tv shows. Gossip Girl was good there first three seasons, but went down hill once rufus and lilly got married, and everyone started to grow up and go to college. and then there is chuck, which now is horrible in my opinion. then he was a proposed xmen movie when professor xavier started the school for mutans, which i thank stan lee who rejected his script
