  • Bell's was great! Damn greedy Tulsa politicians!!!

  • i miss bells :(

  • I remember working there in 02' or 03. Sky ride, log ride and go carts and the bumper boats.

  • hey we still got big splash?

  • OMG i wish bells was still here im so mad they moved it. It wasnt much but it was something!

  • I really miss that coaster. Thank you for posting it on you tube.

  • this used to be my hangout spot in middle school and then they had to close it :( it seems like everything fun to do in tulsa closed, but why bells! so many good memories at this place. i hope they reopen soon!

  • The first couple of times I rode this rollercoaster I was always afraid we were going to hit the joker, lol. Good times.

  • this was my first ride

  • @199INDIGO same man

  • i miss bells every day!!!!!! ive been waiting now years for the re-open. we r praying they open again soon. i love the video!!!! me n my hubby went there back when we were dating and now we r a family of 4 wanting 2 get season passes every year!!!!!!! we want r kids to grow up with this tradition, its a tulsa birthright and its been taken away from them:(

  • Thank You so much for posting this.I'm from Tulsa, don't live there anymore, but this was an annual thing you could do all year! Nothing beats it to this day.Tears in my eyes I haven't seen this in years. Why would they close Bell's? ahh! And I'm so glad to hear others feel the same about it.Childhood memories last forever!

  • My first roller coaster experience. Nothing since has compared. We rode it annually and would then eat at Casa Bonita. Wasn't a good idea to do it in the other order!

  • @misplacedkansan man i miss casa bonita 2 :/

  • @xxcrazzyybrunettexx They keep bringing it back and closing it again. I don't know what their deal is. What I really miss is Crystal's Pizza.

  • that was simply beautiful

  • PHANTASMAGORIA FOREVER!!!!

  • i luved bells!!! then the stupid ppl had to shut it down!!! >:(

  • I got my hickey on the himalaya

  • i miss bells:( we used to go every summer

  • my mom used to work at kwitset (a lock and doorknob business) and every summer we would get tickets to go. we went for 5 years in a row, and i miss it so much. i was really young at the time, and the last year we went, was the year i got to ride the Zingo. it's been almost 10 years since that day, i believe... wow, i really miss it lol

  • Nice video! You did an excellent job holding the camera as steady as you could. Looks like Bell's may have found a possible location in Wagoner County near Coweta according to the Amusement Today article. All that's left is to vote on it and then rebuild Bell's. Look's like I'll possibly be making my first trip out to Bell's once it's been rebuilt.

  • thanks for the post that brought back a lot of great memories from my childhood. Hope Bell's makes a comeback soon.

  • glad I got to ride Zingo and visit Bell's back in 2001.

  • we miss you bells!!!

  • R.I.P, Bell's. :[

  • a city is defined by it's rollercoaster, tulsa sucks even more now :(

  • i miss bells...it was so much fun!

  • I remember that creepy clown face!! Still gives me the chills!!

  • @gwinfamily I remember that clown too. I remember the tunnel before they added the clown face on it. It was about the same. But I remember the first time I saw that clown, I thought I was going to hit my head on the bottom of it.

  • i remember the day the day i went to bells they had a accident on the wildcat next to the hauntedhouse !! im not sure why they tore bells down though anyone know???

  • @neader2 The city of Tulsa took it over and forced Bell's to relocate. Mostly because Bell's wanted to build another rollercoaster. After battleing it out in court for 5 years, Bell's won the lawsuit and the director of the Chamber of Commerce is the asshole that ripped up Bell's contract and told them to leave.

  • @mjt19741 wow that sucks but hey thnaks for the info

  • @neader2 you're welcome

  • @mjt19741 no the country forced bell's too they city anexed the fairgrounds in Jan of 09. Look it up.

  • @nascar200fan Ummmm.....Ok. Why are like trying to correct me on this. It doesn't matter who's right and who's wrong on this situation.

  • @mjt19741 If it doesn't matter what actually happened, why take the time to comment in the first place? And why get upset when someone else has something to say that contradicts you?

  • @wonderboyjohnny Then why did you comment on this? Just to prove that you are right and everyone else is always wrong. Someone asked why the park closed and I responded and someone told me it was a different situation. So this conversation had nothing to do with you.

  • @mjt19741 Actually, I did not claim to have any sort of information regarding the closure of the park. Simply curious as to why you were upset that someone was "like trying to correct" you. I am not sure as to how I could "prove that I am right and everyone else is always wrong" if I offered no information - simply commented on your immaturity. Though I would like to point out that you decided to have this "conversation" on a public forum, leaving it open to public comment.

  • @wonderboyjohnny I never said I was upset about it. You just thought I was.

  • I used to ride the Zingo all the time when I was growing up. I still am having trouble believing they tore down Bell's.

  • I know! It really is sad! That was a part of being a kid in Tulsa!

  • @JosephPaul2 That was the best ride there

  • Thanks for posting! Love the sound of the chains bringing up the cars on that first big hill - nothing like it. Always looked to see the Tulsa skyline on the big curve after the tunnel.

  • I have great memories of my Dad's employer -DX Sun Oil, providing free ice cream and rides every summer at Bell's through the sixties and early seventies.

  • i loved bells, i went the 1 time a month in the summer

  • No One actually misses Bell's Amusement Park just look how little Is written about It.

  • No One actually messes Bell's Amusement Park just look how little Is written about It.

  • No One Is angry with the politician for taking Bell's amusement park from Them

  • lol i grew up being scared of seeing that jokers face going through the tunnel then goin to ride the chile pepper plunge

  • this use to scare me ? its only like 40 feet tall

  • wow i can't believe this rollercoaster used to scare me -_-

  • OH shit! this roller coaster gots my name! :O lol

  • Zingo was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, a long-time amusement ride manufacturer. They built the very first wooden roller coasters, and I believe still make them to this day. The also created the famous "Laffing Sal" that sits at the also famous Santa Cruz boardwalk.

  • Zingo was the very first roller coaster I ever rode....I miss it. Tulsa is so boring without Bells!!! :(

  • ow i live in tulsa im 9 and man we will miss bells and the ZINGO.

  • that was one of my first roller coasters ever!

  • even if they rebuild zingo in another location, it wont be the same, because I won't be able to see my grandma's house from the top... lol

there is no question, even after riding gargantuan mega-coasters at bigger parks around the country, this was always THE best wooden coaster ever! without a doubt!!!

  • That last curve before you returned to the station always got me lol This was my first roller coaster I rode.. definitely miss this ride

  • I hope they rebuild...Summers in Tulsa aren't the same. PLEASE don't take away big splash next.

  • There going to make an anoucment SOON!!!! Thats all I can say Im good friends of the Bell Family and thats what I was told

  • i hope they build it near Jenks :)

  • all i know is its going to be eather NEAR there or up north

  • its just like i was there thanks rip zingo :(

  • wow! zingo was my first roller coaster to ever ride! now i've been on a lot of them!! zino and bells were amazing!!

its a real shame that it's not there anymore!

  • What a great video! I grew up in Tulsa and know Zingo very well. How in the world did the rider hold hold on to the camera. Little alone hold it steady ?

  • You could see my grandma's house from there! So sad!!!

  • Brings back such fond memories. R.I.P. Bell's Amusement Park, and Zingo. You will be greatly missed.

  • I am working on a documentary about Bell's. I am looking for some people who would like to be interviewed about their memories of Bell's. Must be 18 years or older. Looking for stories like "It was our first date" or "I went there when i was young and we took our children there also."

Also any old films of the park like this POV Zingo or other. The older the better. I have a lot from the Bell family but am interested in personal film from back in the '60s and '70s. Thanks

  • ****cries****

    COME BACK, ZINGO!

  • Oh God, how I MISS this ride!

Remember all the wusses who would refuse to ride the Zingo cause they said it was "too scary"? Ah, memories..

  • zingo rest in peace.

gearsguy the 'news on 6' (KOTV, local CBS affiliate) did a story on this, its linked off the wikipedia page for Bell's Amusement Park. The claim is the family that owned the fairgrounds saw it as competition and had political friends kick the Bells family out. Unbelievable.

  • why they have 2 take it doooooown?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • OMG God Bless You for posting this! I never thought I'd ever experience Zingo again because of freakin' Randi Miller. My sister just called and told me this was on here. I have watched it over and over and can feel the wind in my face. I grew up living behind Mayo Meadows, playing at Bell's, and that WITCH robbed Tulsa. Again, bless you for allowing us to relive the magic that was Zingo. I hope they can relocate someday. Awesome video!!! :-D (I held my hands up!)

  • You know Karen Keith is a nice lady and all that, but Sally Bell will win just because of the Tulsans who miss Bells.

  • Comment removed

  • It is a crime that the county didn't renew the lease on Bell's and that they had to take Zinzo down. It was my first rollercoaster ride back in 1974, before the little underground tunnel was built. I was a ride operator in 1976. I hope that they can get a new site, Jenks would be my location of choice, since I went to HS there.

  • Vote for Sally Bell today - 4 County Commissioner

  • If only I still lived in Oklahoma. I will pass it along to my family, some who still live there.

  • thank u :) she won! 82%!!

  • I LOVE THIS ROLLERCOASTER!!! it was my first one ^^

  • thank you..unclemuttley for posting this! i wish i could find more videos on the other rides do you have any? gladly to say i worked for bell's for more than four seasons. this was my first job i met alot of people one of which is my now husband. we met back in 2002 and have been together since we married this past october. so because of all the memories bell's will always be a part of my life. it breaks my heart i'm sadden my children wont ever be able to make their own memories. so again thanx

  • I agree thanks to the person who posted it, I miss Bells dearly and can only hope they can reopen specially when I recall the night lights on zingo going in sequence with the train! Somebody please reopen Bells!

  • I miss Bell's Amusement Park! It sucks they had to tear the place down! The Zingo was my first roller coaster, and in my opinion my favorite wooden roller coaster! I know it's just a rumor, but I hope they move to Sand Springs!! I live there!!

  • damn joker got me every time

  • wow.i didnt get a chance to ride the zingo one last time before everything fell apart.the fair this year was just boring.i didnt enjoy it at the least.and i heard that there gonna move the fair to another location every year.they just wanna take everything away from Tulsa

  • Well said, it wasn't the biggest roller coaster in the world, but growing up it was the best Tulsa had to offer. It does have a classic design to it with it tapering off into the smaller hills, relying completely on gravity. I also missed that giant water tower that stood near it.

  • I get into an almost zen-like state watching this video. Here I sit in Los Angeles... able to relive my treasured Tulsa childhood with every hill and turn of that beautiful rollercoaster. Bell's and the Mighty Zingo will live forever in my heart and memories. And really... I can't thank you enough for posting this... so those of us who truly appreciated the place can always come back for one more ride. Long live Bell's Amusement Park!

  • Man, THANK YOU! That was so nostalgic. I wish I could go back to the 80s and be a kid again. I heard Bells was shut down several months ago and my heart sank. Thanks for letting me ride the Zingo again.

  • Notice at the top that the edge of the planet looks round?

  • the best woody EVER! I grew up on this thing. To know its gone is heart-wrenching!

GOD BLESS YOU FOR THIS! At least i can relive it on youtube!!!!

  • I came back to Tulsa a few weeks ago and drove by what used to be Bells. I pulled into the parking lot and cried for a few. It broke my heart.

  • they didnt get rid of bells....they jus movin it to sand springs

  • what makes you think they're moving it to sand springs? it's still up in the air and sand springs is the last place anybody in tulsa would want bells to go.

  • they siad on the news tht bells was bein moved to sand sprigs

  • The news has only listed a number of possible places that they will move, including other parts of Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and most likely Jenks. As of now, Bell's is in posession of only one property, and that's the warehouse near downtown Tulsa. I can assure you that you've only heard a rumor.

  • Somebody please tell me why they remove this ride . Thank you.

  • Corrupt Kathy Taylor and Commissioner Randi Miller accept bribes from QT and Murphy Bros. Thats why.

  • How does QT relate to all this? I'd heard about Jerry Murphy, but I had never heard QT mentioned as part of this story.

  • QT paid off Taylors campaign debt, then bailed out Miller to clear the former site of Bells, in exchange for renaming the IPE center "Quik Trip center". Taylor and Thornborough or however the name is spelled was plotting on the Camelot site for years to build a mega QT truckstop and sell the rest of the parcel off to ODOT for the widening of I-44. Very well run chain store, ownes the current mayor of Tulsa.

  • oh good lord! i didn't know the wormhole went that far!

please!! dear god let us elect sally today!!

    VOTE VOTE VOTE EVERYBODY

  • man i love all the air time you get after the first hill

RIP Bells Amusement Park, the final old-style park

  • Thanks for the great video! Along with the Phantasmagoria, my son was fascinated by the Zingo. At 3 years old, he was too little to ride it, so we tried recording the ride for him to watch, but the video was too shaky. I'm amazed at how clear our son's memory is of Bell's. It's been an entire year, and he still talks about the park when we drive by its old location. We tried to explain what happened to it, and now every once in a while, he'll ask, "Why did that lady want to tear down Bell's?"

  • Thats so sad taht they tore down the zingo! That was my most fave ride at Bell's! I used to go there for school feild trips! But they tore the park down. Lol I remember going through the tunnel and i was afraid to put my hands up cause they might hit the tunnel lol. Good memories..

  • Nothing beats the classics! Good luck to the Bells family, and no we as Tulsans won't forget those two crooks Kathy Taylor and Randi Miller and their corrupt nature.

  • I mean rebuild

  • I have a game called Rct3 = Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. ST4Lx that game is the way building coasters and amusement parks. Than u can build the park and the Rollercoaster !!!!!!!!!

  • yeah don't plan on buying mega ride pass this year. Fair will be gay without bells. Probly only one coaster now.

  • OMG. i miss bells. it's gonna be so sad going to the fair this year and it not even being there. :(

  • Thanks for the memory ride! Front row and everything... awesome!
