loud is not important. music is about our feelings. i went to bangkok to watch the royal cup, what i saw was the judges geleng kepala when they perform. yes, they got power and energy when play loud but how about the music ? not harmony and no balancing. it doesn't mean a big band can win just because they can play loud.

The quality of sound of this band was poor. Their formation also bad. Its rather than Nan Hwa that truly have make the amazing and neat performence. But keep it up for next year Keat Hwa.

What I mean is,if a band that have many player such as 90 and above,that band can produce a good quality of sound because their can cover their sound quality because the sound are loud,please understand my english are poor

If St John have more player,i thing it will produce more power from the band.

As you can see other band that have more than 90,their sound production are loud and it cover such as the quality of sound,if their are 1 trumpet at their,we can hear their "miss note"

@Bonawew23 of course, a band with many players will sound much better than the other bands. but, the quality is important. i rather listen to a small band with quality music than listening to a band wih many but poor music!!!!!

u should hear sj kuching from 2006 nat comp.if i not mistaken those year...they miss a lot of note(those trumpeter),i suggest u go back to hear they played...but they still winner wat..

Nan Hwa is so much better in terms of performance quality. Undoubtedly better. Well there is ntg much we can do as the final decision lies with the judges. Well, Nan Hwa do not be dishearten by the unsatisfactory decision by the judges. The most important in any competition is to win the hearts of the audience, not the judges. Without the audience, any competition shall be meaningless. Good luck NHMB!!

why it seems like this year they are focusing more on music than drill.

the tone of the lower brass was excellent!

and they deserve for best percussion award as well

btw, 5:10 to 5:32 trumpet should mind the high note!!

but i think the formation is just so so *_*

nan hwa is better i think

overall, keat hwa still the best~

seriously I think Keat Hwa deserve in Top 5.... their hornline are the best...

but their lines are not very tidy likes Nan Hwa... To me.. Nan Hwa should be the champ...their percussion are the greatest,,. everyone thinks like that..
