Jeff, the only difference between your watch and mine is that Mine says Timex on the face. Anyone looking to buy this watch, get the Maratac version if you can still find it, because this retails for $114 at my local store (however I got it for $40 on a 70% off blowout sale). Hope that helps someone. Great vid Jeff!
@EFS64 YES Timex makes this for Maratc the onyl difference as you said is the brand anme on it and the fact that this color variation was only made for maratc, but its the same watch as the timex..
@cutlerylover It appears there is ANOTHER difference. The Maratac as you say has 20 mm lugs, and the Timex model appears (to my measurements) to be 14mm lugs.
Hey cutlery, I finally got my AQC, I got it because I was intrigued by your review. It's sold out everywhere but i was able to get one in the forums. I like it so far. how ever I'm wondering if you have any calibration instruction for the watch
Hey cutlerylover! I love your reviews! but I've gotta say, after having this watch for around a year, the crown broke off, and now it's unusable. It was nice but even the novelty wore off, and frankly I'm pissed. I'm gonna go with a Mudman this time...
yes I live in PA, I just go back and forth I know I ahve alot of other foreign viewers as well so I randomyl give out measurments sometiems in metric sometimes not...
well i would like to thank you because this really helps me... you are so kind to tell that everybody know, this is great for me because i live in croatia and there are grams XD
actually you didnt understand me, i am from croatia and we use grams or cm or meters...and i am gratefull that he uses all terms so dont say something before you read all...
Timex made these for Maratac...it was based ona timex model so if you google timex compass you cna find a different model but it will have the same compass feature built in, price will be about the same though...
It's me again CutleryLover! I was wondering if you could give me some dimensions on the watch? I would like to know the diameter of the watch face, the length of the band that came with the watch, and what is the length of the band to the smallest size? I have small wrists and would like to know if the watch band will work with me.
Thanks! Could you maybe post a picture or something of the watch face with a quarter on it or a small object for size comparison?
I cna give you dimesions if you want...the watch itseflacross the whole front is 1 3/4" acorss including the button on the side, the stock band is 10 1/2" long and the smallest settign is 6" long...
Its a nice oen but still affordable, this is the only one like it, this kind from countycomm fro maratac, but timex has other versions of this watch under their name, timex...
Throw it against the rock wall or hit the face with a hammer, It won't break. I had mine for a year. Great price, put back up around you'r ancle kids. Waiting on GP-4L Review.
haha yeah itrs defimatly durable, yeah I am VERY sorry for the late review I have ben very backed up on videos since I had the vacation I have only been postign vids I already made, I have not filmed a new vid in a while now...But I will get on them soon...
wow what a great watch, i love the ease of being able to change the straps like that and that compass is a great feature and no arguing with the price, 5/5 i love this watch lol, what colour is the back light? great vid jeff.
nice, i find a backlight is a must on a watch, its so frustrating trying to read a watch in the dark with no backlight or atleast a glow in the dark face.
What so great about this ne is that even with a quick flash of the indiglow feature it charges up the illuminated sections as well so even afyter its off you can now read the hour and second hnad for a few minutes after the fact...
Nice watch. It would be great if they offered a slightly smaller one for women. But, I suppose I could wear the one shown here. If that compass is truly accurate, it's COOL.
Thanks Jeff, I hope you get something from countycomm & etc. I won't be able to know more about features & advantage of such cool items (esp. knives)unless the way you presented it. You should be a salesman. Thanks again for sharing & posting.
haha thanks man, well countycomm, maxpedition, as well as mnay other nradsn I mention do not pay me a penny, but I do not ask for them to pay me either...I like doing stuff like this, its my hobby, my dad use to alwasy say the same though, I woudl make a goiod, salesman, lol, I use to be the kid in school who could get whatever you wanted, lol, yup thats was me...and I loved it, the powr, haha, people needed me, lol...but looking back, I wish I just did my work instead, hahahaha
p.s. google "maratac AQC" and lcikc on the second link it will bring you to a watch forum where numerous people explian the watch and how much they like it...you woudl think on a watch forum the guys woud not al agree that a crappy toy is worth the $100 price tag...
in the world of watches 100$ is nothing.there are hundreds of makers of watches but very few watch makers.all the names you have blurred out i haven't heard of.its soo easy to create a quartz movement that do a lot of things.that dosent mean its quality.go swimming with it and see if it is waterproof.shuck proof?
I know for a fact that this watch is made by Timex, woudl you agree that Timex is a well known watch brand? I agree that in the watch world a $100 watch is nothgin condiering there are bnrands like Omega and Rolex where certian models range abouve $50,000 a piece...but stil its no chinese POS...If it was not good why woudl people give it posotive remarks on a watch forum, which has the sole puprose of talkign abouty good and bad watches?
you also said the name I burred out you didn't hear of, thats possible, Maratc is a new name for me as well, they deal soley with countycomm, which is a website that makes products mostly for the government, I do not think that many of our soldiers serving in ameraca and around the world woudl be using crappy watches...But not knowing about Maratac is understandable, but I am sure you know of Timex...? Thats who made this watch, Timex...So this is a Timex watch...
To compare this to knives, have you ever heard of Bradley knives? Bradley knives such as the alias I and Alias II as well as the balisong the Mayhem are all Bradley knives, but they are all made by Benchmade, the knife compnay...Its sort of the same deal, Bradley paid Benchmade to make knives they coudl put their name on, just like Maratac paid Timex to make watches for them...
Hmmm, not sure, I will have a new video on wild edibles soon, I just have alot of reviews to get up and some more requests...I wanted to do more survival based videos, but I was overwelmed with requests...
oh wow did not see this....

I just bought one of these myself. Great piece.
I like it cause it's unique. Just got a gray and
black Bond strap by Maratac.
Are able to put a stainless steel band on this
watch?
By the way they are sold out at County Comm.
