"Unibody" MacBook Pro 15" Memory Installation

Since i have a late 2008 model with 2x 1GB modules, can I let 1 of those modules and add a 4GB module, for a total of 5GB of Ram? Is that possible?

@lfcruzsierra While possible, OWC does recommend that if you are exceeding the Apple listed 4.0GB maximum memory for the machine, that you use the 6.0GB Upgrade Kit for MacBook systems with Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa or Penryn processor. (OWC part number OWC5300DDR2S6GP). The modules used to make this set are OWC certified to work together for maximum performance.

@adinajichisan Yes, Through OWC's MaxRAM Memory Certification Program, the 2.66GHz and 2.93 GHz MacBook Pro 15" models from Late 2008 can accept up to 8.0GB of memory.
