Looks like a good bluegill fly for creeks..or anywhere really lol. I love inventing new patterns for bluegill.I have made some very simple flies that will catch way more gills than a complicated dry fly. And i have made flies and then go to a fly shop and come to find out that someone else all ready invented that.lol
@fishnkid1923 ya man, that is were the fun really is, catching fish on a lure that you know (or think) no one else has seen before, or can even imagine.
@flytyer232 yeah.I like to go to a fly shop and instead of buying flies(pretty expensive stuff in fly shops) i will just look at them and go home and tie them or something similar.Alot of times i dont even buy the materials lol.I use feathers i find in the woods, deer tails from deer i killed, squirrel tails, rabbit fur for dubbing,(use the fur off the tail for white dubbing) Fly fishing stuff can be expensive. Some guy was trying to get me to buy line for $80!! lol
@fishnkid1923 Ya i used to be way, and i still am to an extent, however when you lose (yes lose) a almost brand new Sage rod along with a few others when ones canoes flips in the rapids; you realize how much of a waste certain items can be. I have bought $100 line before, and it works, however i find confidence with $40 line is alot better than $100 line, because your not really concerned about ruining the line.
If you use a squeeze bottle super glue, suck the excess glue back into the bottle. Just hold the bottle up right and squeeze to suck the glue in the tube down and then hold the bottle that way and point the tip to the excess glue and release. it will suck all the excess back into the bottle. sounds complicated perhaps but its very simple and easy to do. Nice fly
