Technically, Magnexxxx is correct. A diesel engine is not any engine that runs on diesel fuel; it's an engine that works according to Diesel's basic design.
@Magnexxxx Quite right, and fuel is introduced much earlier, not too far past bottom dead centre. That would quite possibly lift the heads off a diesel. I suspect "semi-diesel" was a marketing term used to give some impression of diesel economy and durability. Durability, hot bulbs had in spades but economy was nowhere near diesel levels. But try running your diesel on old crankcase oil or butterfat.
reckon it is rather funny, but im tellin y'all my grand-daddy and great-grand-daddy had machines jes like em way back befer i was born... still got some of them too what in the field hangar yonda behind ma barn. fixin on sellin em what come the new year. please ma heart when folk appreciate what us farmers do fer the community.
I've been working on an essay for college for the past 12 hours now and maybe it's just my completely depleted brain cells... but this video made me laugh hysterically for at least ten minutes! You're my 5 star general, if you know what I mean!
Die Bierflasche in der Schubkarre ist mir auch aufgefallen. In Wirklichkeit wird hier nur eine Konstruktionsschwäche der Maschine aufgezeigt: Sie hat keinen Bierflaschenhalter!
It was more interesting than *I* thought it would be. It was quite an impressive collection they had there, and it was actually quite cool seeing them in action.

Great video ! The Lanz Bulldog engine is not a diesel engine, it is a "hot bulb" engine with a lot lower compression than a diesel engine.

@Magnexxxx
Well, it's running on diesel, does it not.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Imagine the old days when machinery was designed by engineers using manual slide rules and no computers!
