whilst this may not be socom 2 HD, and diluted or not we’ve waited too long. As blackwidow mentions, us “vets” probably should get behind this version (enjoy it but point out it’s flaws) if we ever want another true socom released.

My parents did not have the money to buy me a ps2 and when I finally got the money the xbox 360 was out and I did not think anyone was still playing those games. I did try confrontation out after I got the money for a ps3 but every time I tried to play a game I would get booted because my rank was too low. Not because I was bad just because I did not have a high enough rank. I kept the game for 1 week and said screw this. So does this make me a casual gamer. I think not.

See I love shooters and yes I used to play COD when it was made by IW and not craparch and I mean cod 1 on the pc to modern warfare 2 (which was really fuct). Also all the battlefield games. Loved rainbow 6 Vegas 1 not 2 they screwed up that 1 and both graw games. Sorry never had the chance to play the first couple of socom games. though I really wanted.

cover system=easy button garbage. ONLY FIX, since there isn't a lean option is to still keep the cover system but REMOVE crosshairs when behind cover and have them only appear when you lean around or over your cover. this would stop the rediculous pop-up headshot and backdown garbage that slows down the game. anyone with me on this??

In this case it's not so much as Zipper, Sony has a lot to do with the game. Know what... Publishers are usually at fault when it comes to games these days.
Call of Duty has in some ways ruined the gaming industry. Developers look at the games HUGE Success in sales and try to copy that formula. Games that have come out before it got big, the sequels are just taking out the core essence of that game.
No one is unique anymore... At least not those that are well-known. Aside from DICE there just isn't anyone with the balls to make something new. They want the game to sell... you know 10 billion copies.

Socom fans have been going about this all wrong. You think they're going to really listen if everybody is just yelling, "go die Zipper you fucks, make it right FAGGOTS!" Put yourself into that position, I would say fuck those guys and do whatever I want to do. People need to stay calm, logical and just tell them what you think needs to be changed. Just look at Killzone 3, they made a shitload of changes to it from the beta and continue to do so while the game is out based off of feeback.

Yo i got to give you props on this video real talk ...I seen all your videos about socom and you was giving ZIpper a 1000..I must say i been in the beta since tuesday and also was a mag player...and what they did was took the online gameplay and brought that over to socom 4 and mastered it....I feel like if they do make some tweaks to the game which i know zipper will ..This is going to a one hell of a game...Just watch for one move the cam back and also they need to fix the mics in classic mode

If this were made by Naughty Dog or any other dev...Everybody, and I mean everybody would be saying, "Dude, you gotta try this game. It totally feels like Socom." But because Zipper made it, we all hold it to much higher standards. At least with Zipper working on it we stand a chance of some actual support and change that might make this game bearable. I agree with what you are saying, but I just can't see myself throwing 60 dollars away to buy this game, there are so many other great games that are out that I've put so much of my time into and there are so many more coming out. I hope they do change it and if they do, then yes I will pick it up, but until then, I'm staying away. Look its just like Resisdent evil 5. When fans played that they complained to capcom about wanting the old style resident evil back. Capcom released some DLC bringing back that old style play and people said it was shit. Times move on and so do generations. Yous won't get a Socom 2 experiance again because theres only 10k or so people that want it back. I think Socom 4 is great and the respawn modes are there for people like me who hates waiting 5 minutes between rounds sometimes.
The only real way to really stick it up their ass is SALES, SALES, and SALES. The majority of ppl wont shell out $60 for a piece of shit game like this. i preordered confrontation and purchased a year of Qure(which was garbage) just for the beta. i voiced my opinoins and dislikes on the forum and we all saw it get worse with every patch.
honestly i don't know why people didn't like confrontation that much other than it was simply just more challenging to play than COD where you can just run out their like an idiot, shoot your gun and randomly get a kill. Im a big socom vet and i would be extremely disappointed if this game was less true to the original socoms as confrontation. Confrontation was a good game. The camera angles, gun sounds, mechanics and graphics were all pretty good. It had alot of features from older socom's.

This has to be the easiest socom and video game in the world (little big planet can be more challenging) I've played the beta for about 3 hours now and have went from a 2:1 to a 3:1 K/D ratio and I haven't used the cover system yet...

@Blackwido88 I thought SOCOM $ was shit when i got the beta on the 15th and now its the 24th and I'm starting to like it. The classic mode is classic it doesn't have the same feal but its the only game people will play non respawn. The more you get used to it the better it feels. I'm going to be re preordering it. Its the closest thing we are getting to socom any time soon.
Zipper made Mag and that game is 60% different from when it started. They changed mechanics, guns, the ENTIRE progression system added and altered equipment added game modes. There are more World at War players then Mag and Zipper is supporting mag better than Black ops(i consistently see 500,000 on Black ops) is being supported. I can guarantee you something will be changed in Socom 4 during, before, and after people are playing it.

Sony is telling them to make the game appeal to the masses by imitating COD, Gears, etc. If no one buys the game, then they'll dumb it down more & more & more. Till people buy it. If you buy & support the game, they'll listen to what you have to say. Why would they listen to someone who didn't even buy their game?
It's hard to know the repercussions of increased or decreased sales. Either it could lead to a more original style socom or more of the broad audience style game. I can't throw down 60 dollars for this game, however I will stay active on the boards and write up more concepts for a better socom in the future. I strive for a socom that is more like Socom 1 and 2 but with improved gameplay mechanics. My roommate by the way got his ass owned in socom, even though he does well in CoD,GoW,etc.
And why are we regressing now days when it comes to console game controls? Didn't analog sticks and buttons pretty much become the standard YEARS ago? So, why are we removing analog features??? Like pressure sensative grenade tossing... Why can't we just use the analog stick to control ALL of our character's speeds? Sprint buttons are for keyboards. I can't say that enough.
People not buying SOCOM is what made the big wigs take notice in the first place. And that's why efforts went into adding (or removing) features to SOCOM to make it less like SOCOM. I really didn't like Confrontation, but it just happened to be the game that more closely resembled SOCOM than any other next gen game. And that's the case once again with SOCOM 4. Not really SOCOM, but more like it than any other shooter. I guess that should be the bottom line for any SOCOM fan, unfortunately.
You know if they perfected tap to talk it could actually be better then PTT. If it the que sound came on and off and if you could disengage it as soon as your done without that stupid 10second crap it could be really good. It would create less movement on the controls.

There are 2 facets to the gaming industry from a financial perspective; the per diem, and the residual gross. After COD's world record release, the eyes of for profit interests were opened to the real potential embodied within the shooter demographic, and the per diem market share became the precedent focus. I thunk this game could be pretty good. The only real complaint i have atm is how much you have to lead people close to you when their running. But the classic mode could be made into something great. Oh and someone that can acsess te beta forums tell them to fix the PE4 charges being placed INSIDE the bombs in bombsquad. Got four kills doing this earlier.(idn why I can't get into beta forums)

I think the only way to get zipper to come up with Socom 1 in HD is that all of us Socom players to pitch in a dollar to a nonprofit oragnization fund and that money can be use to pay zipper for socom in HD...They want to invest their money for the next game..so,let me know when that happens, I am willing to donate $10.00 bucks and I would like to be updated with the news in regards to Socom 1 in HD...

Good to see a S1/S2 Veteran is enjoying the new game. I really cant wait to retire cod.. only downside is i don’t know how my old arms will cope with holding a weapon all night! (sharpshooter).
whilst this may not be socom 2 HD, and diluted or not we’ve waited too long. As blackwidow mentions, us “vets” probably should get behind this version (enjoy it but point out it’s flaws) if we ever want another true socom released.

My parents did not have the money to buy me a ps2 and when I finally got the money the xbox 360 was out and I did not think anyone was still playing those games. I did try confrontation out after I got the money for a ps3 but every time I tried to play a game I would get booted because my rank was too low. Not because I was bad just because I did not have a high enough rank. I kept the game for 1 week and said screw this. So does this make me a casual gamer. I think not.

I really want to know what do you mean by casuals? I really liked the beta but not at first. The more I played it the more it grew on me. See I love shooters and yes I used to play COD when it was made by IW and not craparch and I mean cod 1 on the pc to modern warfare 2 (which was really fuct). Also all the battlefield games. Loved rainbow 6 Vegas 1 not 2 they screwed up that 1 and both graw games. Sorry never had the chance to play the first couple of socom games. though I really wanted.

cover system=easy button garbage. ONLY FIX, since there isn't a lean option is to still keep the cover system but REMOVE crosshairs when behind cover and have them only appear when you lean around or over your cover. this would stop the rediculous pop-up headshot and backdown garbage that slows down the game. anyone with me on this??

Call of Duty has in some ways ruined the gaming industry. Developers look at the games HUGE Success in sales and try to copy that formula. Games that have come out before it got big, the sequels are just taking out the core essence of that game.
No one is unique anymore... At least not those that are well-known. Aside from DICE there just isn't anyone with the balls to make something new. They want the game to sell... you know 10 billion copies.
SOCOM 4 is just fun. That's all I can say.

Socom fans have been going about this all wrong. You think they're going to really listen if everybody is just yelling, "go die Zipper you fucks, make it right FAGGOTS!" Put yourself into that position, I would say fuck those guys and do whatever I want to do. People need to stay calm, logical and just tell them what you think needs to be changed. Just look at Killzone 3, they made a shitload of changes to it from the beta and continue to do so while the game is out based off of feeback.

Look its just like Resisdent evil 5. When fans played that they complained to capcom about wanting the old style resident evil back. Capcom released some DLC bringing back that old style play and people said it was shit. Times move on and so do generations. Yous won't get a Socom 2 experiance again because theres only 10k or so people that want it back. I think Socom 4 is great and the respawn modes are there for people like me who hates waiting 5 minutes between rounds sometimes.

However anyone who says this game is hard, heh, well I laugh at. This has to be the easiest socom and video game in the world (little big planet can be more challenging) I've played the beta for about 3 hours now and have went from a 2:1 to a 3:1 K/D ratio and I haven't used the cover system yet...

Zipper didn't make confrontation
Zipper made Mag and that game is 60% different from when it started. They changed mechanics, guns, the ENTIRE progression system added and altered equipment added game modes. There are more World at War players then Mag and Zipper is supporting mag better than Black ops(i consistently see 500,000 on Black ops) is being supported. I can guarantee you something will be changed in Socom 4 during, before, and after people are playing it.

I think a lot people got a serious misconception that any console maker game company whatever, loves you. They don't they love your money, and you want to make Socom better you will listen to turban listen to martyr, and support this game, and make your voice heard about what you want to improve on it. That is only way you will get the kind of game you want.

Sony is telling them to make the game appeal to the masses by imitating COD, Gears, etc. If no one buys the game, then they'll dumb it down more & more & more. Till people buy it. If you buy & support the game, they'll listen to what you have to say. Why would they listen to someone who didn't even buy their game?

It's hard to know the repercussions of increased or decreased sales. Either it could lead to a more original style socom or more of the broad audience style game. I can't throw down 60 dollars for this game, however I will stay active on the boards and write up more concepts for a better socom in the future. I strive for a socom that is more like Socom 1 and 2 but with improved gameplay mechanics. My roommate by the way got his ass owned in socom, even though he does well in CoD,GoW,etc.

And why are we regressing now days when it comes to console game controls? Didn't analog sticks and buttons pretty much become the standard YEARS ago? So, why are we removing analog features??? Like pressure sensative grenade tossing... Why can't we just use the analog stick to control ALL of our character's speeds? Sprint buttons are for keyboards. I can't say that enough.

People not buying SOCOM is what made the big wigs take notice in the first place. And that's why efforts went into adding (or removing) features to SOCOM to make it less like SOCOM. I really didn't like Confrontation, but it just happened to be the game that more closely resembled SOCOM than any other next gen game. And that's the case once again with SOCOM 4. Not really SOCOM, but more like it than any other shooter. I guess that should be the bottom line for any SOCOM fan, unfortunately.

You know if they perfected tap to talk it could actually be better then PTT. If it the que sound came on and off and if you could disengage it as soon as your done without that stupid 10second crap it could be really good. It would create less movement on the controls.

Interesting perspective. You are correct, we, the gamers, ultimately hold all the power but I disagree with the "how to." There are 2 facets to the gaming industry from a financial perspective; the per diem, and the residual gross. After COD's world record release, the eyes of for profit interests were opened to the real potential embodied within the shooter demographic, and the per diem market share became the precedent focus. Once the purchased is made, your real bargaining power is usurped.

I personally think that CoD has ruined the gaming community, they are really making it to casual in my opinion. For those that want these little tweaks to make the game a little bit more true to the old style we need to speak up and just not ignore it.
I went into gamestop yesterday they don't have many preorders for this game, I think it will be an epic fail.

All Sony wants is more cash in their pockets. Even if Zipper wants to give the hardcore experience, they can't , since they're owned by Sony, apparently. I'll take this SOCOM and hope Classic isn't that horrible.

No,sorry I respect your opinion as with everyone else's but I refuse to buy a game just so that they can make it feel or look like an old socom,for that I have SOCOM constipation. I dis-installed the game because it took to much space but I can always download those big worthless patches again.....SOCOM 2 is not going to be reproduce because they would spend more money then what they would get back. I thunk this game could be pretty good. The only real complaint i have atm is how much you have to lead people close to you when their running. But the classic mode could be made into something great. Oh and someone that can acsess te beta forums tell them to fix the PE4 charges being placed INSIDE the bombs in bombsquad. Got four kills doing this earlier.(idn why I can't get into beta forums)

Have you even played the game? I mean right now the beta is for the suck ups. We got 2 more days to wait for PSN Plus beta access. By the way I have an extra Socom 4 beta code from Killzone 3 and I need to get rid of it before the beta is free. Your right Killzone 3 sucks! But for real, the game can be saved. Its going to take 4,5 or 6 patches, just like SoCon because editing too much can create serious bugs. I want to see the camera, hipfire and aiming cursor fixed before release or 1 week after the official release.

I think the only way to get zipper to come up with Socom 1 in HD is that all of us Socom players to pitch in a dollar to a nonprofit oragnization fund and that money can be use to pay zipper for socom in HD...They want to invest their money for the next game..so,let me know when that happens, I am willing to donate $10.00 bucks and I would like to be updated with the news in regards to Socom 1 in HD...

every hardcore socom fan should buy socom 4 and play it on classic mode, maybe zipper will see that more people like the old socom feel and might release the grenade arc as a patch for classic mode only.
they might even make socom 5 with a socom 2 feel.
