Jesus is related to King David So was Mary and So was jospeh. In order for you to need Jesus' heir you guys keep following Jesus when he obviously didnt have children. His particular bloodline is dead, but davids bloodline is still alive. Mary had 4 children with Joseph. If Jesus wasnt god his bloodline is irrelavent.

How do you get that Mary was related to David? I'm not saying she wasn't, but what is your historic basis? It's not biblical, but that's ok, if it can be supported by Apocryphal or even gnostic writings, but I know of no such evidence. Enlighten me please.

And you are correct that the bloodline can flow thru Joseph and Mary's other children, or for that matter anyone else, but the point here is to show a lineage that theoretically establishes biblically significant connections.

Yea my source is the bible. Luke 3:23-40 i think and Matthew 1 is jospeh. Matthan is thier common ancestor. I will continue my response in a personal message. I just wanted to let other ppl know who might come across this. .

Luke 3:23-38 (there is no 40) only gives a lineage through Joseph. There is no cannoonically biblical lineage for Mary, although I have heard speculation (specious though it was) that Mary was of Levitic descent.
