  • Man you guys were REALLY movin' Love it when you come up crackin' up laughing... I just bought my first Cat, a Nacra 5.2 so I am sure I will be experiencing this at some point. These things are so much fun...enjoy, peace

    Pete

  • got a 14 that LOVES to go end over end. My solve for that issue has been perfecting the front 1 1/2 flip past the bridle!!!!! going over backwards isn't quite as much fun!!!

  • Travel in!

    Travel in?

    SLAM

  • My lord the first and second "warnings" I'd call them, gave me goose bumps! And then the final crash!

  • Oh you haven't pitch poled in West African waters just yet! Pitch poled my first day on a Hobie 16 and I was hooked!

  • I gotta say, I loled when yall flipped.

  • Nothing like a nice pitchpole to cool off on a hot day.

  • I have pitch poled a number of times on Lake Travis and Canyon Lake. It's worth it to push the limits. Hurt a girl friends knee when she hit the boom vang....

  • broke my nose doing this once. lol good times

  • @EratiCManiaC What the hell??? How is that even possible? Same goes for the guy who broke three ribs!!!???

  • I remember my first time...

  • did someone say travel in?

  • that's fucking awesome, violent pitchpole and the reaction is laughter. great sailing guys!

  • Why were the two retards in this video laughing all the time? Why didn't they do anything to recude the pitchpoling?

  • Comment removed

  • @truckdrivah On a day like that the only way to "recude" the possibility of a pitchpole is to stay on shore. They're laughing because they are having epic amounts of fun, I'd know I did the same exact thing yesterday...

  • been there, cone that...it hurts like a bitch

  • I believe the GPS showed 20kts just before all hell broke loose.

  • how fast do you suspect you were going?

  • did that on a 29erxx once

  • Oh yeah!!!!!! Been there.

  • Your mast needed a lot more rake for those conditions.

  • i have a friend who was sailing an f18 and it pitchpoled and he broke 3 of his ribs. that can be dangerous

  • hands down 5 stars EPIC landing!!!

  • agreed :D

  • wicked. lol

I feel bad though when we pitch in races coz its totally my (the crew's) fault.

  • crash crash crash, love the sound

  • Ha ha ha I miss cat sailing this makes me want to go back to it. I can say cat sailing is always the best for some adrenalin.

  • Makes me want to stop skiff sailing,

  • hahah ah the joy and saftey of sailing J22's thank god

  • memories of my teen years LOL!

  • LOL...that was great! Ah, the thrills and spills of catamaran sailing...

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THEY GOT OWNED

  • I love the rush of flying a hull! even though it terrifies me at the same time. There's always that point of no return too, where everything seems to be in slow motion and you know you're going to pitchpole, but not soon enough to actually do anything about it

  • @LauraAshly182 im with you- it the only thing that makes me whoop,

  • how much wind dose a hobie 16 need to fly a hull???

  • around 13 knots or a little bit more

  • it also depends on a lot of other stuff, the shape and size of the sail, how much you weigh, if you are out on the trapeze, and if you are going up wind or not.

  • I've seen Hobie 16's fly a hull in 10 if sailn solo.

  • 10-12 knots is an easy breeze to do it in.

Ive done it under less tho.

  • lol.

    "ah that was shit"

  • The National Weather Service has issued a small craft warning

    Sailing Interpertation

Theres a load of wing grab the life jackets and lets get outta here NO SPEED LIMIT

  • I thought it was a warning for ships???

  • I did this while singlehanding my H16, hit a big powerboat wake sh-t happens

  • This makes me pray for wind

  • mmmmm...smmmall craft warnnningsss Yum

  • thumbs up when you bear away =]

  • damn i have a H-18 and i pitch poled it and it was fun but it got filled with bunch of water

  • Nothing like a H-16 in small craft warnings!!!!

  • 'Small craft warnings' in Hobiespeak is: LET'S GO SAILING!!!!

  • lmao

  • Couldn't agree more!
