How do you know which way to bend the tree initially, to tell which side you will cut? Is there more give, say, on the north side of the tree? And that's one bad knife to cut a sapling at such an angle so fast...amazing!! Brute, marry me, LOL!!

my knife has a double bevel, is that going to be a lesser knife than one with a single bevel?

The main difference between the two is that the single bevel is going to be sharper and the double bevel is going to be stronger.

As to which is better? It just depends on what you're going to be using it for.
