  • this sounds really cool towards the end

  • WTF is the music stand for?

  • @ryanrocksteady1355

His lyrics. He sings new lyrics he has written for every show.

  • THIS SOUNDS LIKE MY SON MESSING AROUND ON HIS GUITAR IN HIS BEDROOM LOL HAHA

  • @jakekarlson It's too bad your son inherited your genetic potential regarding intellect :(.

  • This gets real Birthday Party-ish toward the end, albeit a little more free form. A lot of Jandek's stuff I can't bother to listen to all the way through, but this and others I really like. Anyone who has knee-jerk reactions of rejection or disgust should look inside and see if they can imagine what pain, paranoia and loneliness sound like. It's not a damn toe tapper.

  • Art or shit? Shit.

  • Really??? This is the about as inspiring as watching someone play with their food.

  • I liked Jandek before, now he's too commercial, haha

  • The BEST Jandek lineup i've seen in NY so far. Incredible show where all players filled in their spots perfectly. Was beautifully BRUTAL at times. First one where I saw Jandek obviously enjoying himself too! If ANYONE has any more footage from this show audio or video... Please post and/or contact me! Hope Corwood releases this one soon! Been waiting more than 3 years already!!!!

  • its like there in a trance........ i like this guy! his live performances are something else.

if it was on cd or anything would not be the same

  • I'm fridened.

  • This is very confusing...?

  • He tunes his guitar how he wants . IDIOT!

  • Jandek makes Yoko sound like The Beatles.

  • Jandek left his room? Incredible!

  • Music by definition is abstract. Other than being subjectively determined as melodic or not, there is no rhyme or reason for what is considered music. For me personally, anything and everything is artistic when it is created by someone with some thought to it. I actually quite like his music; at least it isn't the normal same ol' same ol' mainstream ditties.

  • this music is shitty for the first ten minutes you listen to it, then it's intriguing for the next ten minutes, finally it is really horrible again after that and just annoying.

  • the clip is only 2 minutes...

  • yes, but it FEELS that long. get it?

  • I actually like it. Not that I'm impressed by it, nor do I think it's clever or intelligent or meaningful. Don't have anything particular opinion about its conceptualization and execution... I just like the way it sounds. So there.

  • shite....

  • any music that you have to think extremely hard whether it's good or not, is bad music.

  • Any music that inspires you to think at all, is worthwile at the very least. I don't find this particularly melodic but I like to listen because it makes me wonder does Jandek expect us to like this or is he doing it to trick prententious twatts like myself into liking it because it's arty? Thus I ponder his motives and his mind, I contemplate the mind and the views of another and that's what music is, communication, contemplation and connection.

  • or you could just listen

  • i don't think people commit themsel;ves to music they way he does unless he didn't think it was good first.....i think that, culturally, abstract visual art made greater leaps in public acceptance compared to music, so music must be visually interpreted.....i hear /see him always listening hard while he plays -- he's responding to what's coming out of him......while someone like me, as different as i might even be, still values 'values' and is quite obviously trying to attain them..

  • any music that you have to think extremely hard whether it's good or not, is bad music.

  • nice logic there pal!

  • Jandek inspired me to pick up my guitar again.

  • Jandek's music is based on prewar blues and free jazz. Listen Charlie Patton and Albert Ayler. It's only weird if you know nothing about music history.

  • Jandek himself has said: there's nothing to get.

i think its incredibly interesting but i don't listen to it the way i do any other kind of music.

  • TWAT!

  • I doubt very much that they simply went on stage and played random, jumbled notes, something tells me that they spend just as much time rehersing as any 'normal' band, and judging by the complexety of this music, probably more.

  • You think so..?

Check Model Cities; those guys rehearse impro and they improvise rehearsals.

Sometimes you have to think really fast what is going to be the next note.

  • Either way,the man goes down in legend

  • Okay, sure, Jandek plays tuneless music with bizarre nonsensical lyrics. Personally, I think what he plays is for some strange reason pleasant to listen to, but I can see why most people wouldn't consider this great music. These people have no right to bash it though, since if they don't enjoy listening to this they can easily stop actively seeking out and listening to it.

  • it's easy dumb f**k's, if you don't like it don't listen to or buy it; but quit trying to convince me you know what's good...

    get a life!

  • Well, I must say, I like the gloomy acoustic Jandek of the 80s and 90s much more than this. His "Rain in Madison" and some of the earlier songs, while bizarre, are much more thoughtful. But, that's how it is, I guess: Get an audience, get loud and jarring.

  • what do you think is 'good' ? i would like to hear your music, i bet it probably sucks. jandek can make 12 albums like this in 35 minutes. just because you dont find his music pleasant does not mean its not art.

  • He probably does make them in 12 minutes, from the way they sound...I'd say yep. Anyone can call anything art, I guess that's the beauty in 'subjectivity' like I mentioned in my post that you overlooked. You're more than welcome to go hear my drumming...I have several videos posted on my channel, and if you check back soon I'll be posting the live multi-track mix of the songs too...just so you can hear what us musicians like to call "accuracy." toodles.

  • it's all good dude........it's a mood thing.....in the end people do what they love and if people love it cool.

  • Not hard to make uncalculated noise with no rhythm. I'm sorry, but you saying he "can make 12 albums like this in 35 minutes" does nothing but show how random this shit is. BTW, 3 minutes per album is pretty badass :))

  • you guys just dont get it.

  • yes I certainly get it...if you live in hip obscurity for long enough, dedicate your entire existence to being underground, you do indeed have permission to play the most dischord crap you can muster, to please the eager hipsters, who nod along and assure themselves they are a part of history!

  • I'd rather listen to this highly personal music and be a bit unfamiliar or uncomfortable with it than a zillion other competently executed but utterly unoriginal and totally forgettable copycat songs that have nothing to say except "hey, I can sound like that too." ~Great spirits will always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds. - A. Einstein

  • Well put!

  • I get it, it's called "the emperor wears no clothes".

  • jANDEK É UM MUSICO INCRIVEL,COMO CONSEGUIU ESTAR NA SOMBRA 25 ANOS...

  • Any twat can do that

  • then do it and put it up!

  • this is rubbish

  • That was one pointless clip

  • Yeah, I don't get it either.

  • Ikue Mori! Why you no return phone call?

  • PLAY IT, " THE REPRESENTATIVE", PLAY IT LIKE YOUR HEART'S ON FIRE. WE LOVE YOU, ALWAYS WILL.
