This is great! Finally the truth is told to the masses of the hypocrisy of Eddie Vedder, Superstar. I just hope you stay safe from the Ten Club members who think Eddie walks on water and heals people of cancer. I've seen innocent "mis-heard lyics" videos of PJ songs and from the comments made by PJ fans you'd think they were a bunch of radical muslims reacting to a video saying Allah was a false god.
Dave A totally got the shafted. I honestly felt really bad for him. It totally was Jeff and Ed that didn't like him for whatever reason. Dave really seemed like (from interviews etc that I have seen of him) a genuinely down to earth nice guy. And all this talk about him being a rockstar and all that is bullshit I think. Somewhere I read that after VS he bought a BMW and the guys gave him shit or something, which is so lame. Pearl Jam flies around in fucking Jet Plane for crying out loud.
U all gonna kill me or ban me, or spam me, whatever. But I'll tell U, my favourite period of PJ is when Vedder had little to do with the material (then). Excluding lyrics, of course. Doggie Temple and Ten. Since Vs. the moods of the albums were just the moods of Vedder. Hyped up Ed -Vs. Sad Ed -Vitalogy. On top of all that, Ed is the reason for most of the "punk" songs -fast, single-down picked primitive chords. Lukin, Green Disease for example. Which I hate. After Vs. the magic vanished for me.
Best PJ drummer ever. PJ lost their sound when they lost Dave. I went through the same as a drummer of a band in 1988. Fuck them my waffles are ready anyway.
Eddie "the drunk" just couldn't deal with somebody in his band that was just slightly more talented or slightly better looking than he was. Seriously, it was just about like that. Dave was getting more and more endorsements for drum stuff and drawing attention away from Eddy. What a perfect sound they all had together. It really hasn't been the same since. They're good yes, but, something's missing. The world feels it...ya know?
I love Matt but i hope he goes back with Soundgarden... he fits his original band better. Dave A was the best PJ drummer he really was well suited to their sound, i loved his style.
"We could probably fit another three songs in our set list if he didn't ramble." Too funny. Vedder's a douche for getting rid of Dave. He was the most talented musician in the band. Fuck Eddie and his ego.
@AntK1968 In reality it was both Eddie and Jeff that didn't like him. From what I have read it was Jeff more than Ed. He was the best drummer the band has ever had though, in my opinion at least. They've all been talented, but I think his style suited the band best. Matt's style works good for the songs they write now, because they write with his style in mind, but in concert when they play songs from Dave's period they sound bad. Corduroy for example sounds bouncy and poppy with his beat.
@cmcomins I don't know if he "stopped trying", he just likes to do things his way, and when it comes to material that pre-dates him joining the band, his way is often very different from the studio recordings. LO2L is great, but I still hate the way he plays Corduroy on it. Matt plays the drums like it's another guitar. Instead of keeping a beat he'll more often than not just play along to the rhythm of the guitars, and it sounds all wrong to me.
Lol this is great, and if i'm not mistaken this is pretty much how it went down. It really is sad that eddie didn't fire him on his own and made stone do it....
I saw the follow up video to this, it's pretty funny too. In it Stone is talking to Eddie in the same restaurant later on, and Eddie is talking about how they're going to bring in Jack Irons and go on tour without rehearsing with him or anything. At the end Eddie wants to order some food and Stone says he hears the waffles are good.
I can't believe when I found this it only had a couple of views. I post it on Face Book and about a day later it has over 1,000. Jesus Christ! It's still awesome btw.

bronxrocker93 1 year ago
@bronxrocker93 He ordered waffles, not pancakes. Waffles are superior to pancakes. :)
