why would we want a 35 year old and above to decide the faith of this country, when children are the future?? you know health care, college, the economy is as much important to us, as it is to you...
You Republicans go to such lengths to advocate a candidate who is hell-bent on "spreading democracy" around the world, and you won't even protect it in your own country. Yes, let's make the voting age 35, and then what? Judging by Republicans' long history of voter suppression, it seems if you had it your way only Republicans would be allowed to vote. That's not democracy.
Unforutnately in my case, I am the one single Obama supporter in my family... literally, including extended family. They are deeply republican (will basically vote for any republican, just as LONG as he's a republican), extreme democrat haters, and not to mention racist (They are open about it). Help me!!!
This is great, its about time some younger ppl got more involed. I am 24 and I am getting my kids involved in this now, because they are our future. my 7 year old wants to vote and she loves Obama :)
This is a very real issue. Can't help but think that Democrats think they've won already. The fight starts now guys! GET OUT AND VOTE. GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND VOTE!
I'm just a kid, but I think this video is really inspirational. Kids are the future and if we want a better future, we have to help our parents pick a better president. I was watching the presidential debates too, and if you were watching the same debate as I was and you're still going to vote for McCain, you must be out of your minds. This kid is and will be a democrat forever. And I plan to make sure everyone in my family is voting for Obama. Go Obama/Biden '08!!!
Kids asking their parents to please vote for Obama because they need the policies that Obama brings to assure their future. Wow that is new and very powerful.
I am real into Politics and I am 12 years old. Living in Michigan. One of my best friends is Republican(R) so I really want to convince her to become Democrat. Even though her mom might be a Republican she doesn't have to be My little sisteres friends parents are R. But she likes Obama and she is in 5th grade. So I need help convincing her if you can help feel free to message me.
My 13 year old daughter's friends are for Obama but many of their parents are for McCain. They convinced others by talking about the issues and researching on the internet the truth and uncovering some lies. But most of all, you need to have respect. It is everyone's right to have their own political opinion. If you can discuss it with them and change their minds, great, but if they still disagree, remain respectful. Freedom of belief and speech is one of the greatest things about America.
The Republicans call it brain washing, but the young people in our country are a lot smarter than many of the old timers. We must act now to protect our country and protect our world. I can't believe the GOP chanting and smiling about "Drill Baby Drill!" They don't care about your future so you better vote and make sure you have a say in your own future. Young and old, rich and poor will make the right decision this election. Stand strong and don't let the hate continue.
Politicians play off of our idealist desires. Weigh the issues wisely. We need the youth, but we don't need easily suckered youth. Vote for Obama for the right reasons. Understand his obligations and promises and hold him to it.
You know.... When you think about it who would be better to bring this country together then a person who can identify with both sides of the coin. Mccain couldn't bring the country together and really doesn't care for that matter. He just thinks it's his turn. His voting record shows who he really is. At some point people will have to admit that America is made up of all kinds of people. I would love to see not just black but a Native American as a President one day.
My family at first wasn't big on Obama, but rather Ron Paul, they tend to lean right. But after the McCain picked Palin, my Mom said something wasn't right about her, "too glitzy, all show". After the 1st debate my old man loved Obama, said body language alone was telling of McCain. Obama did well with McCain on Mc's strength, foreign relations. That impressed him. Now McCain is avoiding the economy talk and smearing, we're all voting Obama. Oh we're white and Christian, go figure. ;)
Try to get my folks to vote Obama? Well, at least I can say I've tried. However, everything I've said has fallen on the deaf ears of two blind republicans. It's funny, cause when my dad finally knows I'm right he just changes the subject and doesn't want to talk about politics anymore. Oh well.
Don't use coercion with your parents. The whole "Well I won't help you with txt messaging if you don't vote..." thing is not going to change anybody's mind.
What you need to do, especially as a kid (as much as your parents want to call you a "Young Adult") is to simply say something along the lines of, "I love this country and so does Barack Obama, and I believe he can make the difference we've needed for so long in Washington."
If you can get that down, then sign up to CANVASS.
i'm the same way i'm 13 and i beileve that obama is our only hope, and that if McCain wins i will leave this sinking ship of a country, even though i love it so
God Bless America that we all love and cherish. Let us do our best to bring back the America that we all love and proud of, where we all count, where we all are winners when we wrok hard. I hope this wonderful message is passed on and taken seriously.
I'M VOTING FOR OBAMA!!!!! HE WILL REVIVE THIS BROKEN NATION! McCAIN IS ONLY GOING TO CONTINUE THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S POLICIES,AND KEEP THE NATION DEVIDED,DO YOU KNOW THE NEW PRESPECTIVE THIS NATION NEEDS?! VOTE OBAMA,HE'LL SHOW US THE WAY,I REALLY GET A SINCERE VIBE OFF OF THIS MAN.
I hope people really do get out and vote on November 4th. Even if there are long lines at your polling stations (which is good in my book haha), please stay. Give yourself enough time in your day on that Tuesday and vote! This election is wayyy too important for people to look at long lines, and go back home (or to school or work). Please, tough them out and vote. You'll be so glad you did :)
My mom has never been one for politics, but she's definitely been a hard worker and has always done everything in her ability to get me whatever I needed. On top of the other policies of Obama that I agree with, I agree with his lower taxes for the poor and higher for the rich. So I've sweet-talked her into registering for the first time in her 20 years of voting eligibility and now she's voting for Obama. She deserves nothing less.
Republicans always paint Democrats as big "liberals".They did it 2Clinton yet our economy prospered under him! They did same w/Gore &Kerry &U know our economy continue prosper under them &we wouldn't have this war!We didn't get bad economy &war under "liberal" administrations but under Republican, what does that say?America, don't fall for it again! What does "liberal" mean, look it up?Republicans call themselves conservatives as in "conserve",conserve what?Don't think they ever met tree they liked!
i also have never been so much into politics till i listen to obama.. you dont know how much this guy has inspired me... i am from chicago il, and i didint even know who he was till he started runing. and please dont think i am voting for him because he is from my home town. thats just not the case. i can trust obama with my kids future, and im sorry i just can not say the same for the republicans... they scare me so much!
keep talking, keep trying and never ever give up. The future is yours, claim ownership! If I wasn't already convinced and was your parents, you'd definitely have me convinced...
I'm thankful that I don't need to have this conversation; except for my brother (who stubbornly refuses to register to vote because he doesn't want to get jury summons), everyone else in my family is registered and all of us will be voting for Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden in November. Above all else, it's for health insurance: my brother and I aged out and we can't get back in.
I hope the Obama/Biden ticket is successful at their plot to provide health coverage to everyone. :)
I have never been so into politics as I have right now. I've been watching TV, reading news, etc. Now I want to be a lawyer and when my parents saw how Obama had influenced me, they decided to vote for him!
I've had a very heart breaking expierience this weekend. I am the oldest of four, I am a55 year old white woman w/ some college, who has voted every election . No, save the energy and go out and volunteer and convince the more undecided and flexible voters. You can convince a 100 undecided voters before you can convince family members that are that stubborn for the wrong reasons.
very close to my own story...including age. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Only difference is I am a black woman...one of my older brothers 50 and my youngest sister 43...will not vote for Barack and will not have a conversation with me without trying to demean me for being a democrat who cares that everyday Americans are actually suffering because of the only for the rich attitude of McCain and many Republicans
it is so sad that we cannot get over this racial problem. Obama is as white as he is black. I always tell people that, he is 50/50. I am white and I NEVER once looked at Obama as a black man, I look at him as a man, the one who will bring america to what it used to be.

GOBAMA! It's about time we get an actual president this year.
Obama is hands down, the only choice.

Barack Obama is smart. Not just book-smart, which he is, but politically smart. Throughout this long campaign, he didn't zig when we thought
he would zag, or vice versa. He has traveled a straight line, remaining consistent, cool, and calm, no matter what has been thrown at him.
He has resisted the temptation to swing at every pitch that's been thrown at him. For any man, but especially for one so young who has had so
much thrown at him
