Unforutnately in my case, I am the one single Obama supporter in my family... literally, including extended family. They are deeply republican (will basically vote for any republican, just as LONG as he's a republican), extreme democrat haters, and not to mention racist (They are open about it). Help me!!!

I'm just a kid, but I think this video is really inspirational. Kids are the future and if we want a better future, we have to help our parents pick a better president. I was watching the presidential debates too, and if you were watching the same debate as I was and you're still going to vote for McCain, you must be out of your minds. My 13 year old daughter's friends are for Obama but many of their parents are for McCain. They convinced others by talking about the issues and researching on the internet the truth and uncovering some lies. But most of all, you need to have respect. It is everyone's right to have their own political opinion. If you can discuss it with them and change their minds, great, but if they still disagree, remain respectful. Freedom of belief and speech is one of the greatest things about America.

You know.... When you think about it who would be better to bring this country together then a person who can identify with both sides of the coin. Mccain couldn't bring the country together and really doesn't care for that matter. He just thinks it's his turn. His voting record shows who he really is. My family at first wasn't big on Obama, but rather Ron Paul, they tend to lean right. But after the McCain picked Palin, my Mom said something wasn't right about her, "too glitzy, all show". After the 1st debate my old man loved Obama, said body language alone was telling of McCain. Obama did well with McCain on Mc's strength, foreign relations. That impressed him. Don't use coercion with your parents. The whole "Well I won't help you with txt messaging if you don't vote..." thing is not going to change anybody's mind.

What you need to do, especially as a kid (as much as your parents want to call you a "Young Adult") is to simply say something along the lines of, "I love this country and so does Barack Obama, and I believe he can make the difference we've needed for so long in Washington."

If you can get that down, then sign up to CANVASS.

My mom has never been one for politics, but she's definitely been a hard worker and has always done everything in her ability to get me whatever I needed. On top of the other policies of Obama that I agree with, I agree with his lower taxes for the poor and higher for the rich. So I've sweet-talked her into registering for the first time in her 20 years of voting eligibility and now she's voting for Obama. She deserves nothing less.

I'm thankful that I don't need to have this conversation; except for my brother (who stubbornly refuses to register to vote because he doesn't want to get jury summons), everyone else in my family is registered and all of us will be voting for Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden in November. Above all else, it's for health insurance: my brother and I aged out and we can't get back in.

I hope the Obama/Biden ticket is successful at their plot to provide health coverage to everyone. :)

I've had a very heart breaking expierience this weekend. I am the oldest of four, I am a55 year old white woman w/ some college, who has voted every election . My sibs range from 47 to 53 two brothers and one sister no high school dropouts and not readers. I argued all weekend, no mind you we all grew up in the same home w/ the same mother, no predudice. They will not vote for a black man. I was brought to tears. The good news they don't vote.
