I met Mr. Matthau when he was filming in Ontario one day. My mother and I sat down with him while he ate his lunch and had an awesome chat with an amazing guy.

I had always thought that he would be grumpy like his characters but he was the total opposite. I miss him.

he died in 2000, he died from cardiac arrest, but when the doctor did an autopsy they saw he had sevier liver cancer and woulden't of lived much longer anyway,he was 79 years old

I remember growing up in the 90's and I'd always see this guy in some movie. He always brought a smile to my face, just today I looked him up on wikipedia because Dennis the Menice was on. Its saddening to realize, r.i.p.
