@TheHeavy666Metal That's true, but the Justice album was really bad in terms of the production. If Bob Rock Had produced that it would have been so fucking heavy, it would have been out of this world. Whatever you say about Bob Rock he knows how to produce a great sounding record (St Anger excepted). Rick Rubin Is terrible. I hope they don't use him for the next!
if metallica could only make songs like Master, Harvester, Creeping death, and Metal Militia again it would be fucken awsome cuz the music they make now is nothing compaired to this ( Since Load there songs havent been as great ) .
@strikeout1991 Makes me wonder how so many people can see "music" in stuff like Rap, R&B and Hip-Hop......
We have bands like Metallica and Iron Maiden in our lives, so why would people say they hate Metal, and say they love guys like 50 Cent, N-Dubz and Chipmunk......?
I knew that this was played over two nights, but the DVD is so well edited together, and it does throw a lot of people off by thinking that it's all one night!
i love metallica so badly and i dont want to blame them for something but look when they play battery in seattle 89. you see on the tape that sometimes, james's wristband is there and sometimes not.. /,,/
This concert is the BEST that they have ever performed. harvester of sorrow is my favorite song off of the justice album. and the justice album is my favorite album too. metallica is gonna keep rockin the word till hell freezes over. then they will be "trapped under ice". METALLICA!!!
there would have been more bass solo, he died at age 22 and he alredy made a great bass solo used in kill..just imagen wat he could have done later on
Cliff (bass player) died in a bus accident while touring in .....'86 i believe.....Jason was his replacement up until early 2000s. he left the band to pursue another "project" he had. Robert is CURRENTLY their bassist.....i think thats all correct. feel free to correct me if im wrong
but the three others are still the same, I know james is cause can hear it on his voice tho but the others has been there from the start and still active IN Metallica yeh? ty
Their actuall guitar lead guitar player was Lloyd Grant, but he was there for a short time. He plays the solo on hit the lights. He was kicked out in 82' and replaced by Dave Mustaine
If you want to, you can watch Metallicas movie named "Some kind of Monster". It was recorded during the time Metallica recorded their St.Anger album in 2003 i think. That movie is very good, especially if you like Metallica =)
I was at this show & it was AMAZING! The Damaged Justice Tour was by far the best tour they did post Cliff Burton. They were still Metallica at this point and hadn't put out a single album or song that didn't rule so it was incredible to be there. SO glad I got to see them in the 80's before the dark times began.
Metallica really were the coolest thing in the world back then. I saw The Black Album tour 2-3 years later & it just wasn't the same. Everything from belches to fuck ups in the songs were staged as I found out from friends that ALL of the stuff that seemed impromptu & funny also happened the next night. Not to mention The Black Album was the death of them for me. They hadn't put out a record that wasn't brutally heavy with ripping fast songs & The Black Album changed that. I almost fell asleep.
Half the stuff they did on most of their tours was staged and planned (even before Black), if you watch videos on youtube and listen to some of their live recorded concerts. The black album really destroyed their credibility as an untouchable metal band. I love the album actually, but it doesn't touch the first 4 albums, and every time I watch a video from the old days I can't help being reminded of the 90's.
No it wouldn't have you fucking idiot. That would have this concert much worse. All these songs are the best of metallica and metal itself. Sandman is one of the worse.
because everyone watches the one played in the Soviet Union with about 500,000 Russians going ape-shit, and having fights with the police/army. Though, this is a fucking awesome video too of Metallica at their best
really its impossible not to head bang to that main riff

They played two shows at Seattle 1989 over two nights
What you see when you watch it, is actually bits of the two shows edited together to look like one. Though the audio is all from one show.

No the original guitar player Dave Mustaine was kicked out in 82 or 83 and replaced by Kirk Hammett.(Mustaine later started Megadeth)
The drummer Lars Ulrich was the guy that started the band and he is still amongst them.
