I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Editing job aside, what moved me the most was the slightly melancholy music in the background, mixed with people who had radically different views on their characters and their purpose for playing. Tying all of that together with your fantastic vision of avatars in Dublin, you have quite a film on your hands. Hats off to you, Mr. Kelly.

Why does everyone use WoW as an example of this? There's absolutely no immersion or customization, and no one cares about role-playing. Your avatar might as well be a car you're driving instead of a person.

Beh... i thought they were actually walking around in those suites. My first thought was damn, they were nicely made. A bit of a letdown in the end of course, should have read the header.
I've played WOW. It's just a video game. I could see how people get into it. I'm not obsessed like some are, and people who let it contol them are sad, losers, and any other offensive name you could throw at them. However the casual player; it's impossible to say who it is. I've known state champion wrestlers who play, theater kids, musicians. Adults. It's how often you play it and how much of your real life is affected that makes you a loser.
This video is extremely well done, and I get the message they are trying to send. But as a former player, this video sums up everything that is wrong with the game. People take this game way too seriously
Love this game, got some great friends at school who play and we have good fun in the evenings raiding or doing dungeons together. Not just middle aged men play this game guys. I play rugby, my mate loves body building, another is a ski instructor and we all love and play the game. Not just for nerds, a niche for every person. That's why it's so great!
I don't know what animation effects you used, but that was rather awesome. Kudos! I've played WOW. It's just a video game. I could see how people get into it. I'm not obsessed like some are, and people who let it contol them are sad, losers, and any other offensive name you could throw at them. However the casual player; it's impossible to say who it is. I've known state champion wrestlers who play, theater kids, musicians. Adults. It's how often you play it and how much of your real life is affected that makes you a loser.

This video is extremely well done, and I get the message they are trying to send. But as a former player, this video sums up everything that is wrong with the game. People take this game way too seriously

Love this game, got some great friends at school who play and we have good fun in the evenings raiding or doing dungeons together. Not just middle aged men play this game guys. I play rugby, my mate loves body building, another is a ski instructor and we all love and play the game. Not just for nerds, a niche for every person. That's why it's so great!

I don't know what animation effects you used, but that was rather awesome. Kudos! I don't play WoW, but I know a lot of people who do (and yes, about half of them are women, so before some of you do your asinine Jackass-generation stereotyping of people that are into hobbies that don't include hunting, fishing, or sports, just remember, women can be geeks too, and geeky women are hot!)

I dont play wow.. but I really hate those people who are flaming on wow. True, if you are addicted and it ruins your life, relationship, school or whatever, thats stupid indeed. But if you can control yourself, you can play whatever game you want. Halo, God of war, red dead redemption, WoW and so on. Its just IN YOU OWN HANDS. try to control it and so on you can live very relaxing with playing a game once in a while when you like it. ;)

@ImSecretK See, I vary it up from game to game, I like the simplicity of the games, like I just like Halo 3 and L4D, and CoD WaW, but there are limits like you said. That's why I'm glad my fiance likes to play them with me and appreciates that I play them too :)

@secretMachine I'm not comparing the games itself. Of course you can't compare WoW with HALO or something. 2 different games. But if you game 5 hours a week, it doesn't matter WHAT you game. Its still just 5 hours of fun in your own eyes.

That is so cool! I don't do role playing games, but this is truly an amazing clip. Love the music, scenery, the graphics....it is SO COOL!!! I thought this was a preview for a movie. How do you do those graphics? I love it when that one character is standing the grocery line and looks at the camera. So awesomely creepy! WELL DONE!!!

I mean think about it, theyr hot, they can get any guy and probably have tons of friends to hang out with. They dont have time to play games, and besides playing games all day is not a good way to stay fit either wich girls like that care about alot.

Here is a very good warning... DO NOT GET ADDICTED TO WoW. Otherwise youll probably and up spending the day on the computer...Just play for fun, and not to get good at it. Its an MMORPG after all.

this is really cool of the concept of this short film...the use of sound-bites and animations showing some real opinions on it...i never really gotten into WoW..i think its sortve boring...but that is just my opinion...this really makes you appreciate people in a way by showing what they enjoy
