@Logia1978 I don't think you get it... Badawi was saying we can be friends BUT he is going against the teachings of the Qu'ran by doing so. The Pastor was reiterating the Qu'ran's position (which are opposed to peace between Muslims and non belivers). Badawi seems to gloss over verses that are against peace in order to keep with Western moral ideals; most likely as a form of 'taqiya'.

I have my muslim friends and they never lied to me, I went to Morocco and they were very nice with me.

Ever heard of Sharia law? dont play ignorance buddy, again, Pastor Reza Safa wasnt trying to refute the Quran and say that it promotes violence. He basic point was that why are you muslim nations being hypocritical? Go to saudi arabia and see for yourself, they used to have bible shreding machines once upon a time. They are friends one to another. He among you who take them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guide not wrongdoing folk.] I am a Christian. I think that if we want to know about a relegion, we mainly just go and read its holy book to understand it. That would be better than listening to scolars or ppl opinon. And if we seek the truth really from our heart, God will show us the way. and if pastor have some verses which he sees it as hatred, there is plenty about merci and forgiveness and guidance. just we shouldnt just listen and better to read ourself. Hidden in the Quran and the Hadiths are live wires waiting to ignite just as these live wires have ignited in areas where Muslims are now in dominate population. These live wires are surah 4:89 [kill them (unbelievers) wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them.] Surah 9:123 [O ye who believe! Of course they can be friends. what a stupid question. but what's sad is that Reza Safa is NOT a former Shi'a and that is not his real name. My brother Bilal Jihad, talked to him and has had a standing challenge to debate him at the Shi'a Masjid in Bartlesville, OK since before '99. Reza's always been an Irani Christian, and he refused to debate. He won't do it because he KNOWS he's a fraud and Bilal said said it to his face. While Badawi acknowledge peace with other religions, Rafa did not.

Seems to me the resounding answer to the question on whether they can be friends is "It depends on which scholarly interpretation the Muslim accepts as valid"

Actually Jamal Badawai could have refuted his info but did not have time again. At least Jamal is honest unlike this liar who is an Iranian Christian and telling us he was "muslim" but can't even pronounce simple Arabic terms that every Muslim knows. Christians have been more intolerant and non-Muslims survived for centuries under Islam and even prospered.
