I think its bullshit that they cut out Joss Whedon from the movie. He could at least be an advisor on there. However, I think that the movie may still be successful. TImes have changed, especially the vampires from Twilight, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries. They're different. So the movie has to adjust.Still, to cut them out completely is really bad.

Buffy (Sara Micheller Geller) didn't die at the end of season seven so technicaly she still IS the one and only Vampire Slayer. If they casted her for the part (even though she is 33) I would go see the movie 25 times! But NOT! They'll place some stupid hollywood blonde bimbo in the part ans the movie will suck just like most the reboots do.

But even the cast can be the same minus the vampires because they can grow, as long as it's a "ten years later" sort of thing. Vampires, on the other hand, can't age. So that might be a problem. It'll suck without Whedon and the original cast. Only Christopher Nolan could pull this off, but he's doing Batman movies. Too bad, it was my favorite show.

Why BOTHER calling this movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer ??
It's only capitalizing on the title & main premise. The TV show is brilliant ~
it CAN NOT BE REDONE without the characters ~ chemistry ~ writing & so on.
This really ticks me off -- to RUIN the legacy of BTVS. Just come up with some other lame Vamp series like Twilight or whatever & give it a new name.
The ONLY thing that this new movie shares with the TV show is it's title!

no one will be a better Buffy than Sarah Michelle Gellar. you jst cant be better than her! but id say have Eliza Dushku. she kicks ass and it would be great to throw in someone who WAS on the Buffy The Vampire Slayer tv show. she was awesome as Faith and it would be rele cool to see her as Buffy. but i just hope they find someone who can rele fit the role jst like Sarah did. and i cant wait to see how it turns out.

i think they should try using real people! like david boreanaz who was from the original tv cast. he was selected when a member of the crew saw him walking his dog! what about doing what harry potter did? send the message out and see who actually wants to get involved. look @ the success HP had, why not have that with the new buffy movie too? x

If sarah isnt buffy, then there shouldnt be a re-release/remake, nothing.
sarah had it all, all the training and lived it, made it her own.and no one will be as good as her or be able to bring it to life like her.it would fail without her.

With all the horrible things that have happened in the past 20 years, I thought there was no more proof needed that we're in Hell (what? The "Twilight" craze wasn't proof?!?). Then, I see THIS SHIT & it confirms my suspicions. Why destroy the awesomeness of Buffy with an Uber-Revamp (haha, I made a funny) like this? Hollywood should just be satisfied with the fact that they're gonna make a fortune from Geeks (like me) everywhere off of "Sucker Punch"!

@BuffyCharmedRule The series would be just as bad as the first movie without the same cast. But even the cast can be the same minus the vampires because they can grow, as long as it's a "ten years later" sort of thing. Vampires, on the other hand, can't age. So that might be a problem. I don't know. I think I'd rather them just leave it alone and not do it at all. Nothing can top the series.

@MagneaRx84 to be far Sarah wasn't the first Buffy. On another note I thought this was going to be a spinoff following a new slayer and a whole new set of characters rather than a remake. Anyone know which it is? Spinoff or remake?

@EmeryLafis Remake. No link to Joss so it can't be a spin-off. Back when Buffy ended they were talking of a Faith spin-off but she wasn't avalible for filming so it never was more then talk.
