@crazyharmless666 lol, what do you mean "somehow"? You aren't very familiar with bluegrass yet, are you? I recommend you get that way. I used to be a metalhead. Still am, really. But these are some of the best musicians in the world, and their music is some of the most metal music I've ever heard. Only it's acoustic. And awesome.
David Grisman had this tune the lead song after a short aceppella intro on his first Rounder album. It featured Tony, Ricky Skaggs, Vassar, Jerry Douglas, Tony Trischka, & more. It's a great album, that David Grisman Rounder album.
Of course, everything Alison does is fantastic, too.
Thanks for posting this. Thank you, Alison for bringing back late 70's memories of that Grisman LP.
Fantastic add for making and listening (bluegrass) music! What a load of fun, energy and dedication explodes from this video/tune. Excellent musicians in a topnotch song.
And after the last tones, I want to hear it again & again. Come and visit Holland soon!
I LOVE - why isn't there a button for LOVE. Why is there a dislike? Is someone MAD. I think there's some jerk out there that has nothing to do but listen to excellent music on YouTube and click dislike. There's one on every song. What a LOSER.
This one's my favorite Alison Krauss song. It isn't identical to the album version of this song, but both versions are amazing. I really dig the dobro touch that Jerry adds to this one, but it's even better in the album version. Everything about it is great. I can listen to it 100 times and be enchanted by Bales' bass one time and Ron's banjo another, etc. AKUS always serves up a cornucopia of distinct instrument sound in their songs, which is one reason they're my favorite.
Unlike many flat pickers, Tony makes up most of his leads up on the fly. As a guitar player who just loves Tony's playing; I can tell the difference. The lead he is doing here is just coming out of him. His best assett is a true bluegrass one, and that's being able to have a lead just poor out of you without much prethinking involved. Play the song how it feels, with your style and technique. Tony's is the best at what he does, but this is still an allstar group, as said before.
Amazing group of musicians. Would like to hear more of them together.
