  • Okay ;-)

  • how can you tell wen the crickets are pregnat

  • will the adult crickets eat the younger ones? if i only buy 8 adult crickets, and 8 small crickets at the pet store would they lay eggs in one week?

  • Hey you did a good vid there and I along with otheres am glad to have seen it thank you for your help

  • Ok I have a very important question. My Chinese water dragon Isnt eating anything and hasnt eating any of his WaxWorms or MealWorms in about 4 days, Yet hes still active and everything Is cage has a huminity of 70-80 matters if I spray it at the time or not, and the temperature is 85-95, for basking and yet he never wants to he hes a small fry as of now only like 3 Inches not counting his tail but aa total of about 7In counting his tail, these are just estimates, but can you help me?

  • @KenderikGamer dude 4 days isnt a big deal for a lizard not eating aha

  • @puhlyy Yes it is When hes sapost to be eating 3-5 Crickets a day, BTW he died. He was getting extreemly skinny, Plus hes not the small lizards you probably take care of, where you only have to feed it like once a week

  • @KenderikGamer yeah i breed water dragons plus i own a reptile store i think i know wut im talking about

  • @puhlyy ohh now isnt that convenient anybody can say that, the sad thing is you cant proove it becouse you have nothing to proove!

  • @KenderikGamer you sound dumb guy which lizard eats once a week???????????

  • i sell crickets for a good price.messege me if you are intreastead in buying any pinheads or adult crickets.i will sell 8c a cricket.

  • i seen the babies move over the dish when you showed it. i just started I only have one bearded dragon. so I two small containers for the babies and one 10 gallon for the adults. my adults lay in 10 gallon with a little tub of dirt. then I take the tube out and put it in the small container. I will be getting a heat pad for the babies soon.

  • you can also use sponge as a water source for them to drink right?

  • can you breed just using 1 tank and just put crickets in it and let them lay and hatch an grow?

  • how long does it take for the babies to turn into pinheads?

  • 3:08 - 3:40 haha the way u kept saying "k", "mk" cracked me up =P

  • @reptilerookie6699

    XD

    I couldn't stop laughing!!

  • i got a question am i able to use plantation soil for them to lay there eggs cuz i use it for a substarge for my beardie and have lots left over ?

  • wait i got a question

once the baby crickets hatch what do i feed them?? like will lil bread crums work?

  • do u need a paper tissue? :)

  • thank you alot i think im going to get a lizzerd

  • hey i have a box about that big but like 2-4 inches high how many can i fit in thier?

  • ya its a great video, i pay $5 for 60 crickets... looks like all your videos is all i need to know, i hope i dont get obsessed and have a billion of em goin!

  • how do u transfer the crickets

  • i dont really transfer them anymore, i leave them in the tank they hatch in to grow up in. and jus remove the adults befor they are hatched.

  • @lliizzaarrddss could u possiblye make an updated vid??

  • @lliizzaarrddss how do u remove the adults from the tank?

  • wats is 'whats'

  • yes i do believe it is , Wats is a typo. lol

  • u can edit the title u know ;p

  • i know lol. its more the fact of... me being lazy and not caring ahaha :P maybe one day it will bug me and ill fix it lol. :P

  • No, "wats" is "what's".

    Anyways, great video.

  • ahahaha :P meh its all good

    and thanks alot :D

  • how do you seperat pin heads out of the dirt

  • i dont . i leave them all in the same tank now.

  • what do i feed my pinheads

  • ummm appels, lettuce , strawbarries stuff like that,

  • how much will the tanks cost??

  • alot

  • umm deponds on where u buy them . if u have a second hand shop by u check there they sometime have them. 10 gallons are only like 14 bucks each.

  • will tarantula substrate work for the breeding soil? because it's damp?

  • umm iv heard of people using it and im pretty sure they said it worked so yeap :D

  • Do you hand pick all of the females out or have you found a way to filter them?

  • no i hand pick the females out, its not hard at all, its easy to tell which is male and female. do you know the difference or no?

  • Yeah females have a barb like a sting ray, used to lay eggs. But like if you have 45 Females would you really just pick them out.

  • ahah yea man i pick out all the females lol. its really not hard at all. because they dont all show the same day, you will go tp bed one night wake up you will see more with the thing outt he back, u pick them out, and the next day there will be more,

  • plz reply my crix eggs have been incubated at 80f for 14 days and no hathing help!!!!

  • yea thats alright dude, its only been 2 weeks then :P it takes about 3-maybe 4 weeks for them to hatch lol. its all good, they will hatch soon :D

  • How do you tell which crickets are female?

Great vid by the way :)

  • thay have an ovipositer a long black thik

  • thanks alot :D

and yea u can use sand it works well to

  • realy one of my friends leos died of impaction(SAND THE DEVILISH THING) so

  • well this isnt for a leo lol. this is for breeding crickets :P so it wont harm your leopard gecko :D

  • woah... when u say transfer, i cant imagine you mean to pick up a couple thousand crickets one by one and put them into the next tank? ROFL???????????? heh i bet its hard to make a simple idiot-proof video about breeding crickets though being an expert you might forget at times that we are not and assume we know.

  • ahahaha tru tru lmao . naaa this is just one of my old methods. and no i would move the tray of dirt over into the "HATCHING" tank.

  • do you ever clean out the dirt on the bottom of your tank, and does mold ever grow on thebottom of your cricket cage, if it does how do you stop it from growing?

  • yea i clean out the dirt every now and then. and the best way to stop the mold is to just keep it clean. when ever u see dead crickets take them out . and dispose of them, also if u see any of their food mixed in the dirt take it out cuz it will cause mold to spread alot. so mainly just keep it clean. if mold gets under the dirt along the bottom its mainly cuz something got mixed in the dirt along the bottom and created mold.

  • thx, how deep do u keep the dirt in your tank?

  • about 2inches. and noproblem

  • These bastards wont stop CHIRPING !!!! SFABLNSFGKQSDGASLGas

    how come urs dont

  • LMFAO omg trust me YES they do ahahaha

  • cant you just get a 20 gal but some dirt for substrate keep the dirt moist and then let nature take its course and just supplie food and water or would the adults eat the eggs or wat please answer???

  • well you can use a 20 gall yes but u still have to be sure to give them lvls to clinb on cuz if it is over crouded they will still eat eachother no matter how much food and water there is. but other than that yea jus keep em fed and hydrated and they will do what ever :D like i said they breed when they are babies and when the females grow up they will already by ready to lay the eggs , and u can just keep repeating it over and over :D

  • i think it would be cheaper even in the long run just to buy crickets

  • oh lol. cuz my cricket videos are pretty much the most viewd on youtube , like on how to breed them and stuff. so they usualy go by which videos are most viewd in that cattigory.

  • wich one is beter a littel box or filling a cage up with dirt and droping the female crickets in to lay the eggs?i just started breeding crickets and i got the littel box in the cage what do i do?

  • wana know what they are both really great ways. i my self now use the way of filling the bottom of the cage with dirt . but yea just when you put the females in there make sure theres food for the to survive and keep the dirt real nice and moist NOT SOAKED but just nice and moist try not to let it go dry. thats pretty much it oh and make sure there is a good water drinking source for them. and thats pretty much it.... other than heat light to speed up the hatching and growing :D

  • hey i found u, anyway question when i spray the dirt do i spray it to the point where u can see the water start to gather on top

  • nonono. thats to much water. u want it just enough to soak through to to bottom of the dirt layer. the crickets will drown if theres that much water

  • ummmm... yea.... oops. dammit ok i gatta go fix that

  • ahahah yea u better , or ull end up with nothing lol

  • lol ok question its sorta off topic but umm how did you get your youtube video on the first page

  • ummm.. what do you mean? like the ones with out video edditing?

  • like when i searched whats needed to bread crickets your vid was on the first page, how did you get it there or was it luck

  • how long do crickets live?

  • umm they can live about 6-8 weeks.

  • Do you think that instead of using a heat lamp, I could put the containers over heat vents in my house?

  • would it smell? :S

  • not if u do it right no. mine dont smell at all :D

  • ummmmm iuno yea it could prly work . i dont really see why it wouldnt i mean it is heat right?

  • Thank You :)

  • NO PROBLEM

  • what dirt do you use???

  • eco earth

  • how long do you keep the males and females together before you seperate them to lay eggs

  • the males and females breed when they are little so as long as the females have the obvsipositor/ stinger thng out the back and they are large ( adult ) crickets then they are ready to lay eggs. so yea they breed when they are little

  • Yeah I try to breed my own crickets for my 3 leos and my 4 fire belly toads (spending too much $)but I don't think it is working out. I bought the crickets about 2 weeks ago they laid their eggs in a container that I set for them with coconut husk. I move the container to another place with heat and it has been 2 weeks and still the eggs have not hatch. I don't know if it is the fungus causing this because after 2 days fungus was biginning to show and now all cover with it please help. Thanks!

  • ahah yes a comon problem people have when breeding crickets :P:P

well no the crickets will still hatch. BUT DONT USE THEM , as what ur crickets eats ur reptiles and anphibions eat as well... so when u gave your crickets food, what had happend is u may have gotting a bunch of water in the food and it would have spread and it would grow off small pieces of food. and besure to keep it around 80-90 f ( 30 C ) and keep it well moist! anything els just ask :D

  • no food enter the soil actually it is coconut husk I don't know if it is the substrate that I am using that is causing the fungus or is it normal for fungus to grow?

  • no fungis/mold is bad lol, its not good for the crickets/ ur reptile or anyting. if u want u could try switching to dirt.... becuase i dont know iv never used coconut husk.

so if u want u can try that.

  • oh ok lol I will give it another try lets see what happens Ill write back to tell you how it went thanks for the help man

  • also would it matter if i put males in the same tank as the females?

  • umm not but yes. like u can put them in jus try not to keep them in rreeeeaaalll long cuz they will dig and start to eat lots of the eggs

  • i have a room that is warm its about 83 do i need special heating and also will coco husk work instead of dirt

  • umm yea that heat should be fine, and umm i don know lol. u can try it... i dont see why i woudltn work but iuno :S:S yea try it out!

  • how long does it take them to reach a decent size for feeding

  • i my self well say around 2-3 weeks, if well fed and has good water supply. and thats from time of hatching.

  • what abt heat- what temp

  • opps sorry wrong comment lol about 80-85F /

    30C

  • about 80-85 F / 30 C

  • well how much does it cost for the heat monthly? How long do you leave the females with the males before you transfer them to the egg laying tank? I want to feed these to oscars or chiclids i am hopefully getting soon and they seem like a good experience. Also how much was all the suplies together costing? And lastly, is the heat lamp nessacary or optional

  • well the heat cost monthly really isnt bad.... i have like.. :S:S 3-4 lights going and it like did nothing to the bill. also u keep them togeather untill u see crickets with a obvspositor ( stinger like thing ) sticking out the back and itll be like 1 inch long, then u can put them in the laying egg tank. also each of those tanks were about 12-15 $ accept the bigger one and it was like 40$? and the dirt is like only 8$ as u buy 3 bricks and they last a LOONG TIME! they expand into alot.

  • also for the heat light it is optional yes but like 99.9 people recomend it, as they do survive better with it and the growing rate increases ALOT. and it makes them hatch faster with the heat. so if i were u i would use a heat lamp, as i said in one of my videos the heat lamp will pay for it self by u saving money on crickets. im sure u understand what i mean by that lol.

    anything els just ask thanks!

  • how do you know which are female and which are male

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing

  • k thanks

  • np :D

  • i once cut off a stinger when she was laying her eggs on accident

  • ahaha:P iv never really cutt one of befor..

  • is it true females can only lay 100 eggs?? cuz thats what i heard..

  • ohhh no! lol they can lay up to 800 EGGS ! lol yea each females can lay up to 100 eggs :D:D in a time span of a week or two!:D

  • y do u need the light

  • to help them hatch faster and lay eggs :D:D also helps they grow faster!:D

  • how do u transphere theme to diffrent places and what is that soil in the first tank?

  • i just pick them up with my hands.. i only transfure the ones thatare big, i dont touch the babies. and its called ECO-EARTH

  • i need the light cuz it gives off heat which helps the eggs hatch, aslo the females lay eggs fast and better in a worm area, also the crickets will grow faster in a worm clymit.

  • how do you know witch are fems

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing

  • you dont need all this stuff i put them in my tokay cage and just they just started to breed

  • aahh! dude thats not good eh... not being mean but its not good. it can creat mold in your tank. and the tank can become over infested with them and can cause huge stress for your lizard... lizards dont like it when there is LOTS of crickets around them they stress right out. but thats just my thought.

  • thank u a buch man

  • np man

  • how do u tell male cricket from female crickets?

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing

  • hey how do you find out if the cricket is female or male

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing

  • what do females look like

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing

  • no covers for the tanks? j/w

  • yea they all do except th tall one, cuz its lid is on one of the smaller ones.

  • crap to complicated

  • lol naaa not really if u actualy do it its real easy.

  • growing 2 b eatin

  • lmfao yeap u know it :D little do they knwo though:P

  • so how do you tell which are females and which are males?

    cheers

  • females have a stinger like thing comming outt he back which they use to lay eggs with and males have nothing.

  • get a tissue!

  • they have fresh cricket gut load water and gut load food but they wont eat or drink it should i remove the pizza box?

  • ok... wat i recomend is egg cartons. also for the food... jus get dog foot and smash it up into small fine peices... and for water. just get a paper towel and fold it up into a small rectangle put it in the tank and spary it. thats what i do... i have a whole new WAY MORE effective way of breeding them now.. ima make a video after i find a good way of getting them water.. i have like over 2000... no lie..

  • i have 2dozen large crickets and i have been trying to breed them for a couple of days but they are dying i mean they hide under a clean pizza box i put there and just die. but i did find one dead female cricket in the damp soil... but whats wrong?

  • well perhaps they are not having adiquit water... orr maybe the crickets u are buying are an old batch that are old and die. hmmm i mean.... iuno i recomend jus keep trying and asking for large Female crickest only, they should stingers out the back, and ill tell u wat to feed them.

  • Hey man nice video. =) im confused though how much exactly would a young bearded dragon eat im not sure if im going to have to make a little breeding setup.. if you got any tips that would be awesome if not thanks for the vid really helps

  • i just bought 2 beardies. when bearded dragons are fully grow they eat about $10 in crickets a week from the pet store per dragon

  • lol ty, s yea i guess he should breed them :P:P i mean.. 10 bucks a week. times that by 52. thats like 520bucks a year u could be saving.... and in cpk9999 case.. 1040bucks a year.

  • wow hey i just got large crickets to breed today when will they start laying eggs? i already have damp soil in their......

  • well long as u have good heat and moist soil.. well they should start right away... what they do is they stick there stinger thing into the dirt if u watch u will notice them doing it.

  • hey bud they started hatching =) whats best substrate for them to lay eggs in so i can get more crix next time?

  • well thats good :D:D

but i do believe that jus eco earth worsk great.... i mean i actauly jus had my new batch hatch. and i have like over 1000.... its crazy.. the tank is coverd in crickets lol . but yea im sure eco earth is. and ass they grow put the females in the dirt as u find them with stingers. if u keep adding more and more u will get way better results.!

  • how do u tell the diference with male and female crickets

  • lol well the females have a tube like thing sticking outt he back and the males just make a lot of noise and dont have anything sticking out the back

  • to much money

  • wats to much money the cricets?? lol yea thats why i breed them :D:D .. or do u mean the tanks?? if so not really a 12-15 gallon tank is only 12 bucks.. and it will pay for it self when u save on buying crickets.. :D:D

  • hey i tried to breed them and mine kept dieing until my iguana got out and finished them off so help me out plz =).Also I seperated them to but they both died like 10 or 15 crickets a day. ps. the females did lay eggs but not hatching yet.

  • hmm well are u keeping them well hydrated? like making sure they have adiquit water supply? cuz they die very easy if not supplied with water....

  • how do you tell wich ones are female or male

  • lol well the females have a tube like thing sticking outt he back and the males just make a lot of noise and dont have anything sticking out the back :D:D

  • can i use vermiculite for there laying grounds???

  • ummm.. i do believe so yes.. im pretty sure lol.

  • so i leave them to breed then seperate them .. how big are the eggs and where do they lay them .. or do i just let them hatch in the tank with the adults also how do i know when to put the males back in with the females?

  • well crickets dont live very long.. soo.. when u buy them buy adults. adults should be ready to lay eggs, look for a tube like thing sticking outt he back those are females. if they have those put them in the tank with the moist dirt and stuff.. only. u can do w.e with the males.... prly feed them to ur lizard. then u wait about 1-2 weeks then remove the adult females , then wait about 2 more weeks and u should have lil baby crickets. the crickets will breed them selves when there babies.get it?

  • aha thanks very much .. i wont start yeat ill need to buy some plastic tank sorta things then i ill start .. thanks for the help ill subscribe :)

  • ahah np man! anytime! and thnx alot!

  • hey lets say i go get my chrickets at a pet store can i put the girls in their tank or should let them hav some time with males

  • well if your buy adults and u see a thing sticking out the back that looks like a stinger then u can just put them in the tank to lay eggs, the stinger like thing is the tube they stick in the ground to lay their eggs. and when they have a big one it means they are ready to lay eggs :D

  • can you use sand as a substrATE? like walnut shells or something?

  • hmmm good question.. like i have had another guys ask me about that, and he is using sand right, well he sais they do lay the eggs yes, but we are unsure aboutt he egs them selves hatching, but i think u might beable to use walnut shell .. go for it give it a try. and let me know how it goes.

  • is it possiable to breed crickets with just 1 container? i only have room for 1 tank, but i dont see why it wouldnt work as long as they dont get too over populated. and also, how do you tell male from female and how do you seperate them? do you pick through them? lol

  • well u cant do it with one tank cuz the big crickets will eat the pinheads, and females have like a thing that looks like a stinger out the back ( but its what they use to lay there eggs with ) and yea you seperate the males from females when u go to lay the eggs.

  • i thought u needed males to

  • well you do.. but you see when u got to the store to buy them to start u buy adults, and the adults will all reayd be pregnant or w.e right. and when they lay eggs and the eggs hatch the babies will mate on there own, there for its well you know... when ur crickets that YOU BREAD get old u superate the males from females to get max results , cuz the males will eat the eggs .. which will result in ALOTA LESS baby crickets.

  • how do you tell, if a cricket is female or male, and how are you supposed to separate the eggs, arnt they like proppa tiny????

  • ahaah females have a thing sticking out the back that looks like a stinger, ( you can only tell when they are adult crickets ) and males have nothing they are just really laud!!! lol , and u dont have to take the eggs out:P u just take the females out of the tank lol:P:P that would be sooo hard to move all the eggs lol. one crickets can lay upto 800 eggs lol

  • fuckin hell, well cheers for the help, ive ben trying to breed my own for a while now, and i use three tubs aswell, i separated it kinda like you, i put adults in one, the young in another then i just grabed like a few and stuk them in to breed with each other, but then i started to get like baby mileerpeed thingys, and i dint no what the hell wa goin on lmaooooo

  • ahahaha yea that can happen:P that can be from dead crickets:P but the crickets will breed them selves when they are babies so theres nothing u really have to do to MAKE them bread:P:P but yea they will bread on there own , it works out great once u get it started cuyz its just a repeated thing lol
