this is relatively easy. it's because jade puget isn't such a good guitarist to make up anything complicated. afi aren't that good musicians. you may possibly be better than jade puget.

when i try to play the picking part after the power chords, it says to play them over but go like hold the power chord and then play E a d.. and it sounds off and way too happy.

One more question, I can't get the sound right for the part from 1:45-1:55. I think my strumming is off and your hand moves too fast for me to see what you're doing, so can you tell me what's going on?

Yes, some parts were done by ear.

For 1:45-1:55, all I'm doing is playing the chords and hitting dead notes inbetween.

How do you know how to do all these songs? I've looked for a tab book but I don't think AFI has one so did you transcribe them yourself? Did someone transcribe them for you or did you just use the internet???

There are some tabs online that other people have made. I use them to get the right sound/chords and then play them the way I hear the song. In other words, some I transcribe myself, but there's always help from tabs found online.
