US atrocities in Vietnam war? Study the "My Lai Massacre".
'He fired at it [the baby] with a .45. He missed. We all laughed. He got up three or four feet closer and missed again. We laughed. Then he got up right on top and plugged him.'
"Peers Inquiry: Report of the Department of the Army Review of the Preliminary Investigations into the My Lai Incident".
@COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY To be fair, the Viet Cong committed atrocities against Vietnamese civilians as well, such as the Dak Son Massacre. They torched the village for supposedly giving aid to people fleeing from them.
Interesting also that My Lai could have ended with the deaths of GIs who participated as well. A chopper pilot who intervened and managed to rescue some civilians ordered his door gunner to open fire if they didn't stay back.
@PurplePunisher69 thats what i tought too.some guy wrote its "super napalm"?is there someth like this at all?!actually, its most likely a conventional bomb ,since you dont see a cloud of aerosol bfore the explosion(like with fuel-air explosives)
Yarh, the USA lost the war in Viet Nam. We could have won it, and it would not have taken long to do exactly that. But Lyndon B Johnson had too many friends like the CEOs of Grauman Air, Bell Helicopter, Colt Arms and Dow Chemical that TOLD him NOT to end the war, because they had too much stuff stockpiled to be used in Viet Nam and if the war was over, then they would lose a lot of money on the excess stuff. That is why Johnson stepped up the assault on Viet nam. BELIEVE THE TRUTH.
I still remember to the war in Nam - now the war in Iraq is very similar. The time and zeitgeist ist different - because at the end of the 60ies, everybody cried, No War - make love not war....such things. I am around 60 now - so I remember well to the war in Vietnam and to the people, who were against this war. I am from Austria. The B52 had nuclear weapons - as they started to bomb Vietnam and Cambodia, they used normal bombs.
Great Video Man! Wow I can only imagine what those carpet bombings felt like, and sounded like on ground level when the B52's dropped their party favors
Us Canadians opted out of our US counterpart's ridiculous GOP-led invasion. Almost like watching your brother driving drunk; you want to punch him in the face and tell him to smarten up, we have history to teach us mistakes to be avoided, such as a second Vietnam.
Read a book about New Zealand and Australia in Vietnam and how the American chopper pilots - the only ones that would - using the blades of the choppers to trim the trees to get to wounded....AND under fire. Amazingly brave fellas.
Thumbs down for the US baby killers who lost the war

Actually most of aircraft (even some of the very small!) were/are supposed to deliver nuclear bombs if needed.
